FileHippo is great for downloading previous versions of software but i dont like how to download it you have to scroll halfway down the page and the download link up the top is to different software, seems very sneaky catching those unaware.

All the programs get Flagged by my virus protector. I use Webroot

Used to be a good site for downloads but now a total scam site redirecting you to download software you don't need and trying to get you to pay for the full program instead of the free download.

It was really a good website but latest news are two years old.

Its about 3 years I'm using this site for downloading my soft wares and every time i use this forces me to trust this site for any soft ware. This is the wonderful site always having updated software. I will highly recommend you all to use this. thanks filehippo :)

Better than softonic, not too bad.

Certainly a shadow of itself in many respects. I think that the company changed hands over a year ago but they have certainly been having technical problems over the last few months.

Their update page simply fails to update. The listed updates to mid January only show two so far this month; it did resume late last month but seems to have stopped again.

The FileHippo updater, a program that you run on your PC to automatically scan for updates now fails to download definitions. In defence I have not experienced any malware issues though.

It looks like this website is heading for the high road and I cannot see it lasting. My recommended alternatives would be Patch My PC, or Ninite.

Great stuff. Very convenient site, and free! Also handy for older sofware versions.

File Hippo used to be good but now it is truly awful.Stay away from links to use it Several times lately I have been bombarded will rubbish links to other sites causing confusion.
This was on several different pcs at different times.
Beware - Stay away!

The certificate is issued to r2.shared.global.fastly.net. But the website displays its URL as filehippo.com. How should I trust the website

In the past, FileHippo.com had been a trusted source for clean downloads of hand-picked software. Well, that's over now! Sadly, they recently joined the trashnet of sites wrapping downloads in adware installers. Called "Download Manager" on their site, it is a wrapper you get instead of the software you actually wanted.

Was looking for a video converter and ended up on filehippo. Clicked on the download and then opened file to install. On second screen of custom install i was greeted with the option to complete install with two extra programs i didnt want and there was no option to unselect the unwanted programs so i cancelled the entire install. Or so i thought, the next day i was browsing and going through some personal files when i started getting notifications from an anti malwear id never heard of. Which had installed on my pc without my permission. Whats worse is my premium malwear didnt pick up on it and u didnt even get the program i went to this god forsaken site for in the first place. Avoid this diseased site!

One of the best websites for downloading all the common software apps. The download speed can be a little low sometimes but most of the times it is great.

They always have best updated programs and they are free! awesome

Hey all......I have just used and downloaded Ad-aware and along with a few other cleaning programs that I use, I wanted to again try to see what Ad-aware would find. Well it came out aces, being great. It found a few more bugs to my system. So I would so recommend this program to other. everyone at Ad-wre, keep up the great work.

Filehippo provides a clean and useful site that provides downloads of many popular software titles. I have never experienced any malware or other issues.

The site is easy to use and also has a good news section.
