I was making roll up window blinds for 12 sunroom windows. I ordered 2 yards first to see if I liked the fabric. It was fine. I ordered another 12 yards. It wasn't until I had made 3 more of them and put them up that I saw the new fabric was stained on all of the new blinds fabric. Fabric Wholesale Direct said I had cut it so my tough luck. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Ordered double knit fabric and received a thick felt instead, which is a completely different type of fabric. I have previously ordered double knit fabric, so I know what it should be.
I contacted customer support multiple times and provided photos, but their responses focused on confirming the color rather than addressing the incorrect fabric type. Even after clarifying the issue several times, I was told the item was correct.
Then to return the material, I was told a shipping fee would be deducted from my refund, despite this being an issue with the item sent.
This experience was very frustrating. I would recommend double-checking orders if purchasing from this company.
Company doesn't care
This is my 3rd order from FWD. Got something like 60in by 25 yards of duck canvas. It arrived and it's folded and rolled. The whole 25 yds of it. I make paintings and my studio space is limited. I can't really iron it out without doing it on the ground and ruinning a lot of material. This is a huge pain in my neck. My space is very limited. I reach out hoping FWD can replace it or help me out. Chat agents were nice but the company unfortunately doesn't care and said to not have material folded for shipping, order must be over 40 yds which is not stated anywhere on the site!! I'm flabbergasted, which is an understatement and appalled and livid. I'm not returning again.

Order not a full yard
I ordered dyed burlap to make pennants for my daughter's wedding. I ordered 1 yard each of four colors. The quality of the burlap was good and the colors were as expected. Three of the four yards were actually a full yard but one of the colors was 3 inches short. When I reported the problem to customer service, they said I needed to send my packing slip (no problem) and a photo of the fabric showing the measurement. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was short until I had already cut into it. Therefore, they were unwilling to provide any recourse. I was even willing to buy another yard if they would ship it for free, but they were not willing to retain a customer for the cost of shipping. I would agree with the other reviews here that customer service is lacking.
Dirty, Snagged Fabric
I'm a small business, so I order 100 yards at a time when ordering fabric. I ordered the DriCloth Microfiber Jersey. The bolt is 6 feet long and comes in a large roll. Because of the size and volume of fabric, I didn't unroll the entire thing to inspect it. Once finally getting to the new roll, I find that yard after yard is blemished with snags and dirt. Since I'm outside the return window, they wont' do anything to help.
Good Fabrics- Terrible Company
This company really struggles with shipping, fulfillment accuracy and transparency. Their "Free" shipping is not really free because you pay for it with your time. It isn't the same as the other shipping just free rather it is a we are going to wait as long as possible to ship so that you feel the pain and next time you will pay for shipping. I wouldn't mind paying for shipping if the next shipping option was a good option but unfortunately it is just about as bad in terms of time as free shipping. The only way you get your items in a reasonable time is if you pay over $100 for shipping for 2 day or next day service. They are unreliable if you need your item with a specific timeline in mind . Also I have unfortunately had to work with them for a long time because I have had a hard time finding a comparable fabric elsewhere they raised their prices on this particular item $7 a yard. That is an insane jump and doesn't make me feel valued as a customer. I am a small business owner and will discontinue the product before I support a business that doesn't value my business.
Don't waste your money
I purchased 70 yards of their 60" polyester Chiffon fabric looking for a continuous length as I was making several very long draping pieces (20 feet each) for a wedding tent setup. I even asked customer service about purchasing full bolts and they said it comes in up to 200 yard lengths so I figured that would fit my requirements at only 70 yards. I started cutting the pieces but was extremely annoyed to find that there was a break in the roll half way through which left me with one half of a drape. I set aside the 11 foot piece that I could not longer use (which I paid for mind you) and continued on. I cut the next drape successfully but as I moved on to the one after, there was another break in the fabric again! Another 14.5 foot portion wasted! So, I paid for about 25 feet that I can't even use, what a scam! In addition, there were several small black and orange dots on random places in the fabric. I did my best to try to hide those at the top of the tent where they would not be seen. Long story short, even with the points I accrued from this purchase, I will not shop here again. This was ridiculous!
Side note: I was emailed by the company to leave a review. I tried to upload my review and it gave me some kind of weird error. Not sure if it's because they're trying to block negative reviews or what but I went directly to the site and here to make sure my review got heard. I am beyond annoyed at this point.

Beware of the company. I placed an order, about 250$ worth, 24 yards. Asked about shipping and they said could ship out the same day if in by 1030am. Placed the order. 5 days later, on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm, I get an email saying they are preparing my order for shipping. Now its a week later and still no shipping confirmation or tracking. So I called. The lady said if I had paid for shipping, they would have sent it the same day, since I got shipping free. It could take 14 days to arrive as they don't count weekends in their 7-10 days for free shipping orders. She said they get so many orders, and they are so busy, that it takes a week to process a free shipping order. But if you pay 50 bucks they will find a way to ship it the same day you order. 30 years in the industry and I have never saw this tactic used to extract more money from a customer, then when called out, create this incredible excuse. Image if you were to hire a few new workers, you could double or even triple your revenue.... If that were true that's what a smart business owner would do. In summary, the shipping charges to them and the shipping time from their location once the package leaves is the same no matter how you have your order processed. The extra money is for them to process it the same day. Not such a good deal after all in my opinion.
Ordered three fabrics and never got…
Ordered gold silk for a wedding and was sent green. But not returned because it costs more money so let it go. Ordered three other fabrics and never got them. One item in one package FWD claimed insurance from Fedex, but no full refund to me? Then two other items in another package Fedex sent back to them without even attempting to delivery it to me. FWH said this:
20% restock fee: $285.36
Return charges: $757.05
Refund: $384.39
Out over a $1000? How do i get it back from them??

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had a terrible experience with Fabric Wholesale Direct and will not be ordering from them again. I accidentally submitted my order with the wrong address and reached out immediately (within minutes) to correct it. It took them three full days to get back to me, by which point the order had already shipped.
When I asked for a refund or to have a new order sent to the correct address, they refused both. Their response time was the root cause of the issue, yet they took zero responsibility and placed the burden entirely on me. They offered no meaningful resolution and expected me to pay for a second order due to their own delay.
Customer service was unhelpful, slow, and dismissive. The entire interaction showed a complete lack of accountability or care for the customer experience. I don’t recommend ordering from this company unless you’re prepared to lose money if anything goes wrong.
Terrible customer service
I'd ordered fabric from FWD several times before with no hassle. Then, early in 2024, I ordered what I *thought* was Navy blue stretch lace. Beautiful color, good stretch, all of it. Until the lace arrived. It was white.
I contacted the company and was told that I would have to return it at my expense, because it was definitely *not* their mistake, but mine. I know I ordered Navy. I ended up keeping the lace, and re-ordering it in the Navy. Later I dyed some of it another color.
To add insult to injury, I kept getting emails asking me to leave positive reviews on their website. Well, I did. . .but it wasn't positive. Once they saw my review they closed out my account and blocked me. I haven't been back, although I could order with a different email if I wanted.
I thought it was just me, but I'm obviously not alone. Never again!!
Really disappointed when I gave plenty of notice
I ordered 20 yard cuts from four different fabrics for my cosplay group's first build weekend and I ordered it with what should have been plenty of time to get it in before this weekend. I could understand a 2 week delay if it was for a bunch of cuts for a bunch of different fabrics, but now my group is delayed in getting started on the project. No apology just, "We will ship it on Wednesday" and it didn't actually ship until Friday. We needed the fabrics for Saturday.

I ordered a light voile fabric. I received a mass of scratchy, rough & abrasive polyester. When I tried to get them to honor their claim of satisfaction guarantee & request a return, the company refused to even reply.
Ordered a hunter green fabric
Ordered a hunter green fabric, hunter green thread, and hunter green zipper for a dress. They sent me the correct color thread, but zipper did not match the thread, and the fabric was Emerald/Kelly green, not EVEN CLOSE. I emailed their support and was told it was the correct color and that it was the entire lot that the dye makes color look different. Absolute bull, BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS WEBSITE. I will be adding the images of fabric and screenshots of email to Facebook, tiktok, Instagram, and snapchat story.
Don't know how they stay in business
I ordered aq few things 2 days ago and just went back and looked at the confermation email. The email says it won't get here for another week so that makes from the time of ordering to the time its supposed to get here a week and a half. I messaged them and told them that if it was going to take that long then cancel everything. I was told I would get an email tell me it was canceled and refunded. Instead of getting the cancelation email I was told that it had already shipped, which I don't beleive. I will NEVER do business with this company again and anyone that reads this should never, don't waste your money.
Consistent good experiences with FWD
I don't know why there are so many negative reviews here! I have ordered from FWD 4 times over the last 5 years and never had a bad experience with them. Yes, shipping times can be a little variable but that's ok for the quality and price of the fabrics you receive. It's true that they don't offer a lot of intense coupons, discounts, etc, but that's how they are able to keep prices reasonable. I've bought 16 different products (14 fabrics plus zippers and thread) and several swatches from them, and been happy with almost everything. Some of the fabrics have felt a little cheaper than I hoped, but that's the nature of inexpensive polyester. You just have to figure out what fabrics you like and want to order again, as with any merchant. And plenty of fabrics have been very good... I have used them to make lots of things including an heirloom baptismal gown (cotton voile and broadcloth) and my wedding dress (poly satin and cotton voile and broadcloth to line it with). I really appreciate the selection of apparel fabrics FWD carries, since that is so hard to find these days.

Placed order 10 days ago. My credit card was charged, but order has not shipped, and customer service person was unable to tell me when it will ship. They have my money, but I don't have my fabric (will I ever?).

Just horrible. Never have I had an experience like this.
Left brain does not know what the right brain is doing. Took them 12 days to tell me they don't have the stock they said they have. I lost a customer because of it and a hefty order of custom bags. As a new customer, they are not willing to offer me anything to keep my business. No coupon, no free shipping, no free sample of a fabric I might be interested in (all things that other fabric suppliers have done graciously to keep my business flowing).
Then, I got on the phone with these people. They require you to jump through hoops to do anything. "I cannot contact my manager with your issue, you will have to do it yourself".
Do yourself a favor, buy from a company that cares about you and your hard earned money.
