NEVER BUY Overseas Smartphones or Tablets from Expansys Japan

As dual sim phones are not available in Japan and as I travel a lot I need to keep my Japan number on and purchase a local SIM in the country I have travelled to. So for the first time of living 17 years in Japan, I decided to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Z fold 3 dual SIM 5 G phone through Expansys Japan. After around a year of using the phone, suddenly the Wifi got greyed out and it will not turn on and 10 days after that the screens stop displaying even though you could hear the sounds of notifications and calls. As the phone was out of warranty period I was aware that I will have to pay for the phone to get it repaired. I got in touch with Expansys Japan , and they said that since the phone is out of Warranty , I should get it repaired by Samsung Japan. To my utmost horror , when I took it to Samsung Japan , the said that as it was not purchased in Japan , they will not even touch the phone for repair as they bound by something called the "Dempaho" regulation. I got back to Expansys Japan , but they just sent me a link of a Smartphone repairshop and said since the product is out of warranty , even if I pay for the repair they cannot help in any way. I tried calling 20 other repair shops and each of them said that either they do not undertake Z fold 3 repiars and those who did say they can repair Z fold 3 , they can fix only the display issue by purchasing a secondhand Z fold 3 of the same model and replacing the parts of my phone with the parts of the second hand phone and the price they said would be around 120,000 JPY . They said that foreign models can only be repaired that way.They also told me that they cannot repair the Wifi problem as that would also be violating the "Dempaho" regulation of Japan. This was never told to me nor I was made aware of this when I was purchasing the phone by Expansys Japan. Had I known that the phone cannot be repaired in Japan even after I am ready to pay, I would have never purchased the smartphone. Also Expanys Japan just put thier hands up and said they cannot do anything about this.
So if you are living in Japan....NEVER EVER buy phones from Overseas , Including those foreign models sold by Expansys Japan as you will not have a way to get it repaired even if you are ready to pay. I have decided that I will never own a Samsung product as thier response was pathetic , but Samsung Global and will never use Expansys Japan as they are unable to support post sales.

Racial profiling and fraud

This company engages in racial profiling (Which is a form of racism fyi) I ordered a phone on their site and right away I was asked to prove that I live in Japan which is probably due to the fact that I don't have a Japanese name. All that after they have already taken my money. I have no response after 5 days and my phone has still not been shipped. Getting a refund and marking this company as fraudulant.

代金は請求されるが商品は発送されません

オーダーした後、発送されなかったためカスタマーサポートに連絡を取りました。1日後に回答があり、翌日の午後遅い時間か翌々日の午前には発送されるとの返信があったため、そのまま発送作業を継続してもらうよう依頼を出しましたが、1週間経っても発送されず。再度カスタマーサポートに連絡をとったところ、あれこれ理由をつけて遅延しているとのこと。Trustpilotの他のレビューをみても似たような案件があったため、恐らく金銭のみ引き落として発送しないつもりだろうと判断し、paypalに返金依頼を出しました。
2021年に利用した際は迅速に発送され、非常に満足していたのですが、今回は完全に裏切られました。以前利用したからと言って信じるのは間違いだとよくわかりました。

Horrible company, horrible service

I should have trusted the bad reviews.
I ordered a tablet, the website says it's in stock.
It's not.
They took my money and I have no idea when my 130 000 yen tablet will arrive.
Customer Service does not reply to emails.

Yet when they needed my ID to verify billing and shipping address, they were very quick to request that.

I documented every screenshot and I am preparing for a credit card chargeback request, because this is ridiculous.

AVOID!!!

Horrible so far

Horrible so far, no response on a 130
000 yen phone samsumg ultra.

Nothing from customer service on date for shipping, updates or a way to talk to them.

Poor service, 5 days after order no update from them other than a charge.

Cell is suppouse to be on stock, i believe they are a full 100% scam.

Stay away and do not waste time.

Ordered a phone

Ordered a phone , although not in stock but website says when it is they will contact you and ask if you wish to proceed . Then I find out they have cancelled.my order without asking me even though the phone I ordered is in stock in a few days time according to their own website. Response from Customer Services is every poor.

Don't ever buy something from here

Don't ever buy something from here.
I made the mistake and bought my expensive Oneplus 8 pro here, which is waterproof. The touch function of the screen was damaged for unknown reasons after not even one month of use, and now they refuse to repair it because I used it once in the rain.

I was an idiot for buying it there and also for being honest. Stay away if you don't want to have bad experiences with poor customer service.

I have no idea how they have made themselves act so suspiciously, but seriously do not consider getting something from them.
Don't waste any time on them and save your precious money.

impossible to join on the phone

they are impossible to reach. I bought a Lenovo Y50 70 and they say they need to get it from the warehouse but then it's been days now and I heard nothing. they have my CC infos and I can't move on and buy it from somewhere else. I want to cancel but I can't until I speak to someone. Nobody replies to emails either.they say they have an online chat box available on their website but it's nowhere to be found. Very suspicious and also very surprising at the time that online purchases have become so commonplace. Not a good thing at all. As iam writing this I ve been on the phone for another 13 minutes with the line (309-834-0323) ringing and the automated voice saying " you're being transferred to the operator"...
do not buy your product there if you want prompt service or any service at all!! their price was cheaper for my product but it's not worth the trouble after all to only save a few bucks...

Worst Customer Service ever

I bought an LG G3 through Expansys Japan, which lasted about 8 months before it stopped recognizing my Sim card, or any other, for that matter. So I make a warranty request, and ship my phone back to them. It took Expansys 2 months to check my phone (probably because that would leave me with not enough time before my warranty expires), at which point they said they repaired it, and sent it back to me. I received it a week later, only to find that it was still showing the same symptoms and unusable. Expansys, however, claimed it had been working fine when they tried!

Couldn't be better!

I just purchased a smart phone from Expansys and it was a perfect transaction. I ordered at 2:00pm on the Hong Kong website. I received notification the order shipped 20 minutes later. The order arrived at my door at 9:00am the next morning. It doesn't get any better than that! The price was unbeatable and it was new, not refurbished and not used as some other reviewers claimed. It was exactly what I ordered, it works perfectly and it was delivered very quickly. Now that's how to do business! A+ for Expansys!

Never again

I bought a Samsung GT-I9082 phone from Expansys Japan. After using it for two weeks I noted that I can receive text messages but cannot send out any. Calling their Japan office I got the answerphone and left messages but was never called back. I sent mails but they were not answered either. Finally I got through and the girl told me that she would ask their technical people for a solution. She never called back. Then I got a mail from Expansys Hongkong to return the mobile to Hongkong. When I called Japan again and got finally through, I was told that I would have to send it back to Hongkong at my expense and that she could not help me. Summary: If you buy from Expansys Japan, you have no technical support, no warranty and you are probably lucky, if they refund you the invoice amount, but import tax, shipping to you and back to them all goes out of your own pocket.

Worst online experience since a very, very long time

Well after looking for a shop to buy a SIM free Galaxy Note 2 I gave Expansys a try. At first it seemed ok but I had problems from day 1.

Communication is horrible. I took me more than 10 emails to get an answer. They say their opening hours are from 10 but the phone line often stays closed until 10:30 and then it's impossible to get someone. Today it took me 23 attempts before I eventually spoke with a human being.

But well I know for a fact that companies with super cheap prices always have a crappy service, that's nothing new.

the worst part is that I know believe that this company works with grey market and have no support whatsoever from the makers of the items they sell. They have their own 3 months guarantee so they're sure they'll never have to pay for anything and since makers don't support them they can't provide normal maker's 1 year warranty.

This sucks because well, my Galaxy Note 2 just got the infamous SDS (Sudden Death syndrome) cause by a chip that breaks usually 4 to 6 months after you purchase the device (just check the web, it's full of testimonies about this very problem). Too bad for me, crooks at Expansys basically told me go away and read their policy again. the woman I had on the phone (and who refused to give me her name) kept telling me to check the company's policy on the website over and over again like an old recording tape.

Eventhough this is a maker's issue known and that Samsung should take care of I received ZERO support from Expansys. The lady promised she would give me phone numbers and emails to contact Samsung but of course the email never came.

So it is very simple. DON'T ever buy anything from those guys. They don't offer proper warranty because they can't, which means the source of their products is highly suspicious. You can't trust them, you'll have a crappy if no communication at all, no maker's warranty and as soon as you have a problem they will just say "sorry we can't do anything".

I will NEVER buy anything ever again from those guys and I strongly advice anyone reading this to share it and put this company in their own blacklist.
