I bought my house from someone who was…
I bought my house from someone who was undiscerning enough to conclude a "rental contract" with the four-flushers of Enercare. I decided I wanted them out of my life, so I mandated them to "inspect" their water heater in my house to determine whether it was at the end of its useful life (in which case it was Enercare's responsibility to remove it) or whether I was required to buy them out. I was told an "inspection" would determine this. This is how the "inspection" visit unfolded today:
the person they sent to perform this inspection never performed it, which I consider to be a breach of their service agreement.
While I greeted him and showed him to the water heater installation, he asked me a bunch of impertinent and irrelevant questions, like when did I buy the house, which was none of his business, and about my nat gas boiler, which is owned by *me*, not Enercare, and which I answered completely and correctly, despite the fact that that *is none of his nor Enercare's business,* pointing out that:
the boiler is owned by *me* not Enercare
my service agreement for inspecting and maintenance of the boiler is with another company, *not* Enercare
the boiler is inspected annually, with service certificates to show for it - the last one being issued FEB 26 2026, and is completely up to code, and that the state of the boiler is between me, my service provider and the insurer, and is NONE OF ENERCARE'S BUSINESS
Then I left this "worker" in my basement to complete his "work", and went upstairs. Despite me answering *all* of his questions, irrespective of their impertinence and irrelevance, he emerged about a minute or so later to leave the premises. I said, "that was quick", after which he launched into a risible explanation to the effect that I was not sufficiently "conversational" enough with him for him to perform the inspection. lol
This person was given literally carte blanche to inspect this water heater. He was given literally all the time he needed, and complete liberty to do so. I'd booked the whole afternoon and left him alone to do whatever he wanted. But because I apparently didn't answer his questions the way he wanted - albeit honestly - that crossed the line, so he left.
What a garbage excuse for a company this is. They deserve all the scathing reviews they get online, and then some.
And like countless other commentators, I wish could could give these four-flushers a zero. Voilà
BEWARE OF ENERCARE CHEATING!
BEWARE. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM..THEY WILL NOT REMOVE CHARGE FROM YOUR PROPERTY EVEN AFTER RECEIVING BUYOUT PAYMENT. Enercare and their customer services team cheated me. If I would have any star in negative, I will give it to Enercare. I have property closing next week and they are not removing the lein from my property. I am at the verge of defaulting the sale transaction. They took buyout money from me, and are not removing the charge on my property. In all my calls and discussion (before taking buyout payment from me) they confirmed that if I pay the buyout amount, they will remove the charge from my property and I will have nothing to do with the tenant's personal account. After taking the buyout money, Enercare changed, now they are saying that they will not remove lein on my property becasue of dues on tenant's personal account. So if tenant would not pay, will Enercare have right to keep lein on my property rather than adding this default payment onto tenants credit file? The same tenant defaulted payments of Enbridge and Alectra as well for his personal Enbridge and Alectra accounts, however Enbridge and Alectra were sensible enough that they put the default amount on Tenant's credit file rather than having charge on my property. But Enercare, they just want to lie and cheat through their customer services team to get the money from customer. And after getting buyout money, they will not remove the lien from customer's property and they will ensure that you suffer becasue you were their customer!

Enercare is a true scam.
Enercare said that I will save money. WRONG, IT COST LOTS MORE.
I TRYED TO CANCELL MY RENTING CONTRACT,hafter only 6 mounths, they still force me to pay for they syestems.(heatpump & hot waterless tank).
Stay Away From Enercare!
I want to give 0 stars but this won’t let me. Their name should be EnerDontCare. These people LIE LIE LIE! Please don’t fall for their protection plans. They will convince you to book a complimentary service call right away, but if you cancel the plan they will charge you for the call. Twice in a row their technicians didn’t show up for a service call. Then when one came he ordered the wrong part. Enercare refused to write off our tank even though it was bubbling and rusty on the outside, ready to leak. Instead they replaced parts. Twice they reviewed conversations we had because they didn’t believe me and then found that I wasn’t lying. I told them the company that replaced my water heater would be bringing it back. Then they refused to take it because I bought it out and bought from someone else. Their rental contract is 15 years. Our tank was 14 yrs and even though one technician said it should be replaced they refused. Other companies are 10 years. We bought ours instead for just over $2000. A huge savings and we don’t have to deal with these people - a bonus !

had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this hot water tank rental company.
I would never ever ever ever use this company forever
For the past four years, I was repeatedly promised a $300 credit. Every time I called, I was told it would be applied—but it never was. Despite multiple follow-ups, nothing was ever honored.
I also tried reaching out to my salesperson, Steve, several times, but he never returned my calls. When I did manage to speak with him, his attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, which made the situation even worse.
On top of that, the billing feels completely unfair. The charges keep increasing without proper explanation, and it seems like they just continue adding more fees over time.
This experience has been extremely frustrating. Making promises and not keeping them, combined with poor customer service and constant overcharging, is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone—please be very careful before signing up.
Mo (Mewael) was very polite and Knowlegeable
Mo (Mewael) was very polite from his call to let me know he was on his way to his work on my furnace. He explained to me in depth the questions I had about the furnace He was extremely knowelegeable and friendly. He then gathered his equipment and departed.
Thanks Mewael
We had an excellent experience with Mr Paolo Lambardo
We had an excellent experience with Mr. Paolo Lambardo, an electrician, who provided home service at my place. Paolo was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the visit, always communicating clearly and making sure we understood every step. His professionalism really stood out, and he took the time to address all my concerns with remarkable thoroughness and attention to detail. Paolo's respectful attitude made us feel comfortable and confident in the work being done. We truly appreciate his efforts and would highly recommend his service to anyone looking for reliable and professional help.
My Mother passed away last Oct
My Mother passed away last Oct. Before she passed she had successfully canceled her service. I am her executor, so I started receiving her statements. I got one from Enercare showing a small credit. For FIVE MONTHS I have repeatedly tried to contact them by email and phone to have them issue the credit and cancel the account. I get conflicting information each time I contact them as to the steps to solve this and today I was informed that I would have to create an account in my own name and have the responsibility transferred to me. The credit is small but as executor I have to do my due diligence to settle her affairs. This company has an inadequate system and poorly trained CSRs to deal with simple issues. I would avoid doing business with Enercare for any reason. I guess they will just keep mailing statements each month until some dumb ass there realizes it is a waste of time and money.

4 days not heat or hot water waiting on part brand new unit. Don't waste your time or money shop elsewhere.
Never get their service plan.
I sold my house over a month ago, and was charged for their service until April.
When I called originally due to problems with their website, I was told no problem, cancelled, no penalties. Today, they have no record of my ever cancelling and I have to pay the total balance of the contract until November.
While I can accept my part in not paying attention to the contract guidelines (which are still a bit suspect?), I can't abide finding this out a month after the fact, being lied to on the phone by someone not interested in doing their job, and all for a service plan that was near impossible to book and receive service. I hadn't been able to get someone out to that house for their yearly "maintenance" service (dude vacuums out your furnace) in 3 years.
So enjoy that extra $125 dollars, Enercare. I may have to give it to you, but it hurts that you think you earned it.

We’ve been customers of Enercare for quite some time and purchased the extended warranty. We’ve been very happy with the service overall.
Today was our first courtesy call for a plumber and his name was Nadim Chakra he looked at our shower tap, and the experience was excellent. Our plumber was amazing—very courteous and polite and also wore shoe covers. He took the time to clearly explain what the issue was, made sure we understood everything, and patiently answered all of our questions.
We truly appreciated the professionalism from Nadim and would definitely recommend his services
Do not risk using enercare services
Do not risk using enercare services. They are a predatory company. I have made every payment on time and in the full amount for over 5 years, recently they made an error in my billing cycle, without notice they reassesed the amount they credited me, evaluated it as a missed payment and sent it to collections without notice or an oportunity to pay the adjusted amount. I have a dispute filed with BBB and transunion about this issue. I called enercare paid the amount in full and spent over 3 hours trying to have this corrected to preserve my credit score due to their mistake. They will not take responsibility and left a black mark on my credit. They trap people into their predatory billing cycle and charge you hundreds of made up fees if you attempt to leave. To me it is worth paying anything to never deal with them again so I am removing their equipment and cancelling.
TLDR: Dont sign up with them, if you are with them leave, if you are about to buy a house with eneercare equipment have them buy out the contract or cancel before you close. It is not worth the headache or possible damages.

I had Justin Saptel come to assess our furnace which was not working. I was very impressed with his knowledge. He was very professional, explained the problem, discussed options and provided his recommendation. He was very personable and a pleasure to work with.
I recently received a call from Enercare
I just received a call from customer service asking whether we wanted to schedule maintenance. I explained that we don’t need it at the moment, but she strongly encouraged us to book anyway, saying we are already paying for it and should take advantage of it.
I told her we would reach out when we’re ready to schedule, and I asked which phone number I should call when that time comes. Unfortunately, she did not provide the number and instead continued to push for immediate scheduling.
After I declined again, her tone noticeably changed. She became cold and ended the call abruptly with a brief “OK, I understand. Bye, have a great day,” without addressing my question about the contact number.
The interaction felt impersonal and overly sales-driven rather than customer-focused. It left me with a very negative impression, as I would expect a more helpful and courteous approach from customer service.

Professional Cheaters
Professional Cheaters - I had enrolled in their Plumbing protection plan in July 2025. In Oct i had an issue for which i requested service. The tech came and left within 2 minutes saying the issue is not covered. No where in their website have they mentioned this is not covered. Subsequently researched a bit only to realize these guys are professional cheaters - They work on deceit, cunningness and cheating vulnerable people.
