There was a scandal at this church
There was a scandal at this church, which came to light in 2023/24. A 3 times convicted offender against children had been allowed an inappropriate level of access to children, even taking part in a home group with children present at the minister’s home. I have proof of all of this but it appears they are desperate to remove any mention of this online!
Those in charge chose not to admit to their congregation what they admitted privately.
“we asked {Name} directly, have there ever, ever ever been any other offenses? Both he and {Name} said no. We believe he deceived us intentionally”
“There's a high likelihood that he has victimized other children. That may have happened at Edgefield. We need to find that out, and we owe it to the children to do that”
This church refuses to publish its safeguarding policies. They refuse to do a 3rd party investigation but instead malign their ex-members. We left this church in February 2024 because it is my opinion that the church is not safe for children or vulnerable adults, and they would rather cover up their failings than expose and correct them.
