I have been with Duport Associates LTD for 9 months, and their communication and customer service were excellent. They are very good at responding to email. They are very good at helping you understand everything in detail.

Do not use these accountants. They offer little to no advice and assure everything is fine when its not. I am recently a sole trader with little experience of accounts and thought I would benefit from the monthly service and so called marketed advice that is none existent when you manage to contact them which is like pulling teeth they offer nothing all. I personally wanted to know about tax returns and all I got was send us your reciepts and we will deal with it with no explanation of the process. I was a few months behind with my monthly submissions but sent all my reciepts in December for the tax year. Worried it was too late I rang them (it took 6 attempts to get through) and asked them and was assured they would be able to submit my tax return on time no problem
and still no explanation of the process of having to sign it etc. So I assumed everything was fine until I got a letter from HRMC demanding my tax return with a £100 fine. So I contacted them again and was told don’t worry we will sort it in the next day. It took them nearly a month all this time I was being charged interest. Eventually after several calls and emails I got my tax return and was told it was my fault it was late because they would normally allow 2 weeks for each month of accounts and I hadn’t given them enough time! Why didn’t they tell me this when I rang them previously. I would have been able to take evasive action. I am now getting quite versed in tax returns through this awful experience with no help from Duport accountants I've spent most of my time trawling HRMC website to try and figure it out for myself. All this company has done is cause me frustration cost me money!

We where highly recommended these accountants by someone. As it was our first time we went with them. At first they seemed very nice but this soon changed and we found them rude in emails and on the phone if and when they answered.

They didnt seem to answer our questions ect and we have had to figure things out ourselves. only when setting up our new accountants to transfer to have we noticed things are not correct / given to HMRC this now worries us if we end up with a bill or not.

We will soon see and we will be getting our new accountants to check everything !

Also the person who recommended them to us have also left and said how awful they have gotten. We would say stay well away from these!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Duport Accountants and would not recommend them to any business owner looking for reliable financial management.

Serious Errors & Lack of Proactive Advice – I was hit with unexpected tax liabilities and penalties due to inaccurate advice and a failure to flag key issues. Despite paying for their services, I had to personally discover issues by checking my HMRC account, rather than being proactively informed by my accountant.

Misleading Reports – Their monthly financial reports were inconsistent and misleading. I was advised that I had funds available to withdraw tax-free, only to later find out I owed tax due to an overdrawn Director’s Loan Account. This was a direct result of their poor financial guidance.

Unacceptable Communication & Responsiveness – When I raised concerns, their responses were vague and lacked clear explanations on how to resolve the issues they had created. I expected my accountant to provide solutions, not for me to chase down basic clarifications.

Costly Consequences – Due to their errors, I now face additional penalties and complications with HMRC. Rather than saving me money, their advice ended up costing me significantly more.

I have since terminated my services with Duport Accountants and would strongly advise others to seek a more competent and proactive firm. If you value accuracy, professionalism, and proactive financial management, look elsewhere.

On New Years Eve I had issues with my email. The representative from Duport was so patient and polite during the two hours it took to resolve the issue. It was imperative that I had my accounts working for work and she tried every avenue and finally resolved the issue.
I could not thank her and her colleagues enough as they are always extremely helpful.

I am an accountant and was recently approached by a client of these muppets to take over his accounts as he has run out of patience with them. I can't say how bad the records were, because my review wouldn't get published. Their draft accounts included unlisted fixed asset investments. I asked the client what they were and he had no idea. The balance on one of the bank accounts in their ledger didn't match the bank statement. They have additions to equipment which the client tells me he didn't buy. He's almost convinced they have put someone else's figures in his accounts. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
