Our second stay at Drummohr as a family for a week of camping. Absolutely love this site…it’s so clean and convenient, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Laundry facilities, kitchen facilities. The showers are brilliant. (I found a 6.30-7am or after 8pm the quietest time for a shower ) Both tent pitches we’ve had were lovely. Fantastic location and close to Edinburgh city centre with plenty to do for the kids! We hope to stay again some day 😊

Just returned home after a 4 night stay. Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with our stay. Having read other reviews and how the site is advertised as a 5 star site, we were really looking forward to our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by pleasant helpful staff. Check in was smooth and the man who showed us to our lodge was very knowledgeable on the area. Upon first impressions the lodge looked perfect, however once we started to unpack we started to notice things that were not what you expect from a 5 star site. The throws on the bed had a lot of dog hairs on them which had gone onto the clean bedding. We have dogs so we know pet friendly places cannot always be spotless but I would have throught the throw would be washed after every stay. There were cob webs covered in dust at eye level in the bathroom and even in the shower cubicle. There were no complimentary items in the bathroom other than hand wash as listed in the advert. There is no where to put your personal things in the bathroom, but there is plenty of room to add a cabinet etc. The flooring had burnt areas, the sofa cushion had stains on the skirting boards were dirty so was the fridge. I cleaned the fridge myself after going to purchase cleaning products. Then there was mould in the shower and next to the toilet. The location is perfect for getting into Edinburgh and surrounding area. The hot tub is fab. The lodge just needs tlc to bring this up to a 5 star standard. We were surprised that when we left we were expected to strip the beds and empty the bins. I understand the cleaners have more lodges to clean but check out is at 10am and you can’t check in till 4 pm so they have plenty of time to do these little extras. Welcome basket was a little disappointing, I had seen pictures of people with a bottle of fizz, we had two small iron brew bottles, 2 chocolate tea cakes and 2 coffee pods. The camping site looked lovely but the lodge we stayed in just needs some care. I did not speak to reception as we had been driving all day, we didn’t want the inconvenience of having the cleaners coming in again or moving lodges.
