Visited the grain store for breakfast before having a tour around the uniform collection( which was excellent) We'd booked a table, however once shown to our seats nobody came to take our order. Waited 15 -20 minutes before I went to find someone as nobody was around! When the breakfast arrived, it was cold! This was the third time this has happened, so not a one off. On this occasion, we did complain and they bought out another one, which was hot. I think it was put in the microwave due to the spead it arrived!!!! Very disappointed with both the service and food. You get better service and the food is always hot at whetherspones and for a fraction of the price. We will not be using the grain store anytime soon, which is disappointing as its a lovely place to visit. When we paid, the young girl asked if we would like to leave a tip!!! My recommendations would be: not to leave customers waiting so long to place an order and make sure the food is pipping hot.

Visited today 17th August to see the garden sculptures which were amazing. However unable to see majority of the sculptures and grounds due to no disabled access . Very disappointing after paying £9:50 admission we felt it was unfair. Accepting that this historic building and astonishing grounds must cost £1000's in upkeep we feel the owners should either make safe pathways so that all the grounds are accessible to disabled persons or advertise that they are not. At least it would prevent the deep disappointment felt by this particular wheelchair bound person. Ironically the disabled toilets in the grounds were very good and the restaurant gave excellent service with reasonably priced good food.

Had dinner, a lot of money has been spent on the Grain Store and it’s a great facility, but quality of menu and food very poor. The price and quality are worlds apart!
