Havent been for a while and ended up in the cafe which has good food, only thing that spoilt it was when we had sat down, 15 minutes in gets a girl coming over to say to us and another table that this area is for afternoon tea only!
OK get that but she then went on to say she will let us sit here on this occasion but in future its only for afternoon tea, Then repeated it two more times.. Power trip I thought and mentioned there are only 3 tables with people at them and two of us were getting this message. Plus the food bill was more than if we had an afternoon tea along with the place wasn't exactly anything special make it out of bounds to paying customers See pics. As we left there was a damp and grubby a4 sheet of paper on a lecturn facing towards the wall that stated afternoon teas. Nothing to say the area was been policed like area54. Shame really. Spoke to manager on the way out and he didn't have his ears turned on as he also said that area may be large and empty but people shouldnt sit there unless you want a tray of cakes.
It was in the afternoon too so not sure with it being so empty that a nicer approach would be advisable.

We enjoyed our coffee in the cafe but felt we queued a long time for it.

The last 3 times I’ve been for coffee the lattes have been warm not hot and the men’s toilets near the cafe stink of pee

Went looking for certain plants and got a echinacea but a Ruby colour beautiful really pleased I got.

The experience was very good. I was able to purchase the plants I needed at a very reasonable price, plant that Dobbies had recommended to be planting this month.

Good quality plants, good and professional service. Staff knowledgeable, an all round good visit.

Very disappointed. It has gone downhill especially the restaurant. My husband and I stood for a while waiting to be served while the two women behind the counter carried on their conversation. They handed over our meal with such disdain. Then to top it off a dog was in the restaurant. Their website says no dogs in the food hall or restaurant someone should keep check.

Always a pleasure to shop at Dobbies Peterborough,feels like a family atmosphere and all the staff are friendly.

Looking forward to a late Xmas present of afternoon tea for two !! A disappointment .
Drinks of tea and coffee and coffee only came in a cup as opposed to useful pot.
Sandwiches ok but one of which was the crust end of the bread,, no attention given to the detail. Scones , which we were advised would be fresh, seemed to be NOT fresh.
The whole selection of dishes seemed to have come straight from a very cold fridge and not at all fresh .
There was no staff to ask if the tea was in order and certainly not to replenish anything. I had to go in search of a refill for coffee.
Overall, for the price of £27 for two person it certainly did not give the impression that the customer was valued and we won't be having another tea.
p.s were told that we could not just walk in on the day as all the items had to be cooked fresh. it seems as if this instruction my have passed by in Peterborough

Been going to Dobbies for years. The experience is always good and staff always friendly and helpful. Good choice of products

Very good restaurant and nice coffee and cakes. Good selection of plants. The toilets are not very good though, they are smelly, not enough paper towels and these are of poor quality. Toilets really need a huge revamp.

I have tried to book an afternoon tea for mother’s day.
In the restaurant I was told I had to book on line. I asked what if I couldn’t book on line and just got a shrug.
On trying to book on line found no category for afternoon tea. Tried help, came up with page what to do on arrival. To book scroll to end of page, tried this, nothing for booking. Tried help told to look in categories, nothing for booking restaurant or afternoon tea. Tried mother’s day category, just presents. Have given up, will stay home.

Nice and clean, well spaced out and breakfast was yummy.

Visited my local Dobbies today, usually a pleasant experience for all a garden centre has to offer and a lovely restaurant. However the Ladies toilets were beyond disgusting, filthy stained floors, horrendous stench from the dirty toilets. No soap in dispensers and no hand drying facilities apart from a roll of blue paper which was damp and horrible. To top it all off used toilet paper scattered over the floor. What the hell has happened to Dobbies!!!!!!

Nice restaurant, toilets not very

Dobbies has it all for a garden centre. My local has restaurant, clean toilets, Sainsbury's shop, butchers, gifts, plants, garden supplies and more. Friendly staff and a good club card.

Very helpful and friendly staff.
