Great food and service. Kind waiters/waitresses but had problems with the pudding. Wasn’t given some of the fruit and the coulis in the mixed fruit bowl. Overall good. Recommend for dinner (has great steak).

After visiting the Guildford cote for a special occasion. Greeted by a great waiter who looked after us for our meal. Very attentive service and food was perfect. The issues started when we came to pay with a gift card given to us by our daughter. There was originally a balance of £50.00 on it. The waiter took it away to process, however came back and said balance was zero. We asked them to check again as we had not spent it. The mangeress came back and apologised that the balance was defiantly zero and had we spent it before.The answer was no. The manager then started to raise her voice slightly. When my wife asked her to double check again if it had been spent and where ? My wife was told to “please calm down madam.” When all we were to ask was how come the balance was zero without us spending anything. We paid the outstanding balance using another method having felt suitable embarrassed by the matter. We did question the length of a voucher to which the reply was it was a year but I think it is now “unlimited “. As a manager i understand you should lead with the customer resolution and supply the correct information. Which the staff seemed to manage very well but the management were very poor at this at best. I had the distinct impression that my questions would not be entertained as at least 5 staff had gathered and were just watching. Very disappointing around management and complete lack of service from management and knowledge. Poor show cote even though the food was lovely.

Previous meals at Cote restaurants have been good BUT this time what an enormous disappointment at Windsor! Table booked for 6 at 5pm on a Saturday. Despite knowing we were a party of 6, it was only set for 5 and we repeatedly had to ask for cutlery, glasses and serviette for the 6th placing. Ordering our food and wine choice took longer than expected, only to have the waiter return several minutes later to say the wine choice was no longer available! When the food eventually arrived there were problems with all four adults’ meals. 1) The confit duck à l’orange had no bitter orange sauce (as clearly stated on the menu), 4 segments of orange and the skin was inedible and not crispy at all. The accompaniment of potato gratin dauphinois was dry and lacked seasoning. 2) The chicken Poulet Breton dish was dry and, even with the additional cost of a sauce (that was very lumpy), did nothing to improve the dish. Its new potatoes accompaniment were over cooked. 3) The minute steak was tasteless, overcooked and dry. 4) The worst meal was the beef cheek Bourgignon. It was coagulated and slimy and the recipient left it all after only one mouthful! Thankfully, the two children’s meals of fish goujons, chips and salad were ok. The waiter cleared half the plates but only returned to clear the rest when we managed to get his attention and to ask for the dessert menu. The desserts saved the day in some way!! Whilst we mentioned about the inedible beef cheek meal, the waiter apologised but nothing else was done and we didn’t want to make a big fuss in front of our family party. Taking 2 hours to have a main meal and a dessert was unacceptable, especially with two young children. The cost of the meal was also expensive for what it was! Booking Cote restaurant in Windsor was supposed to be a family celebration….it fell far short of that!

We had three crab maison starters. All fine. We used all the supplied bread as usual (we always do). We asked for some more (we usually do) and when asked how much, we wondered about 3 more of the small slices; one each (usually such debate is unnecessary because they just bring a bit more). The waiter (who seemed to treat the whole job as an ordeal) suggested five pieces, which seemed fine. What she did not say was that we would be paying £1.00 per stick or so. Given the overall payment of about £185 which included £18 for the service, that seemed a rip off. When questioned about it, and after we explained that she had said nothing about the charge, rather than let us off the fee for an amount of product that must have cost less than 50p to put on the table, she stuck to her guns. This is in contrast to every other time we have asked the same thing. Perhaps we should have reduced the tip to cover the fee, but I did not want to spoil the atmosphere of the meal, which was a celebratory meal.

I bought a gift voucher for someone for Christmas. There was an error in one of the letters of the email in respect of the person to be gifted. I have tried to contact Cote to rectify it but have received no response and they have kept my money even though they have sent the voucher to a non existent email address. Tried to contact Cote but no response at all. No customer service at all. Very disappointing

Our food was served reasonably fast and whilst not cheap the prices were quite bearable for a special occasion. Tasty food and attentive personnel.

A friend had kindly given me a £100 Cote gift voucher last year. I then took her out for lunch at Cote Welwyn Garden City and spent just over £50 from the gift card. After the meal, I asked the waiter if there were any restrictions on using the card in future and was told there were none. I tried to use the balance of the card at Cote WGC last week and was told there was zero credit left. The manageress informed me that the card was only valid for one year and then the balance is wiped. It isn’t stated on the card itself and I hadn’t realised. Natalia, the manager, said she would contact Head Office, but I had little expectation they would honour the card, as they didn’t have to do so. Natalia has just called to say the balance has been credited back on to the card for one more year. Thank you for organising this. Great service.

We poor service and food quality is dropped compared my first visit in November 2022
Staff not helpful and impolite when doing something wrong just challenging you instead to help you to fix the problem.
The staff didn't serve you and just walk around,didn't look at you,you just wait and wait for someone who is willing to take the order it was because I bring a shopping trolley instead a LV bag and I am not white ,strong discrimination, you can see they welcome the other customers with smile and just standby to serve them

Wife and I had a lovely meal at cote shrewsbury reason for the 3 star's is that the beef bourguigon I ordered didn't come with any vegetables. I had to pay £4 for a small portion of veg making the cost of this dish to £24. I've been to French restaurant's before and the veg was included. I won't be ordering this dish again I'm afraid bearing in mind the service charge on top making this dish far too expensive.

Staff need a good training to deal with customers, as well as actually - serve and taking correct orders.
Me and my friend went for breakfast. Except us, in whole restaurant were 3 more tables taken by customers. There were 3 waitresses at the bar. We made an order, along with food we ordered bottle of water. Completely ignoring the water, waitress brought us coffee.... OK, we are waiting.... Then we get our food, one meal was OK, but the other was complitely different meal (sweet instead of savoury meal). So we had a choice of one waiting for friends meal and to eat cold breakfast , or another should have watched other eating being hungry herself. We asked again for water, as we had to wait for another meal to be coocked. The waitress brought us a bottle of water and just placed it on the table and walked away.....she obviously decided we should have drunk straight from the bottle passing it to each other!
We waited another 10 min, asked again for glasses, to be able to finely have a drink.... Eventuelly the right meal was on the table and myself and my friend had very unpleasant experience with the service.
Unfortunately the tip at the restaurant is already included into the bill, because after such an terrible experience I wouldn't left a penny for the service.
And it not like we were rude in any way. Actually we were smiling and happy and we're looking forward to a nice meal...
