It’s helped me find childcare no doubt…

It’s helped me find childcare no doubt but the payment structure is stupid why not run ads instead of the £15 every two weeks is very annoying

We also have a cheaper payment plan at £9.99 for a week and offer lots of free features with free membership.

We like our clean look and banner advertising pays very little these days which wouldn't be enough to cover our costs.

Highly Aggressive responses to bad reviews

I am very concerned about Childcare's aggressive and insulting replies to any reviewer who gives them less than a 3 star review. To me this seems unethical.
When I asked if they were using Al l got this response.
". We do not use 'AI bots' or any other machine technology to respond to reviews."

I could not believe that a human reviewer would be so stupid as to deliberately antagonise people in the way the lady responding to these reviews is doing.

She will respond to this that this is the 4th one star review I have posted. This is because I can only write one review for Childcare.com via Trustpilot: therefore, in order to write another one, I have to delete the first. It is NOT because I regret or withdraw anything that I have stated.
They will confirm that I told them I would delete my first negative review. This is because they refunded the £9.99 I had paid them. I had realised that this platform is useless for teachers to advertise (unless possibly they need a lot of work and it's worth them have a permanant subscription). They did not ask me to delete the review. I deleted it because it was the right thing to do. The second review which I posted on Sunday afternoon, was a very short review because I was very frustrated as how difficult I had found it to delete this sight, and I keep being sent the same request which was driving me mad! Because Childcare had reacted so quickly before, I assumed they would merely have reassured me that they had deleted my account and that I would not be bothered by them anymore. I would probably also have deleted this second one star review.

Instead, to my great surprise, I got a long tirade accusing me of leaving a false review and denying that I had been trying to get off the sight for ages. The lady responding claimed to know what was going on my mind! She also said my behaviour was very disappointing for a teacher. I just could not believe how patronising she was being. For the record I am a 62 year old highly qualified and experienced teacher, with a fantastic reputation and the prices l charge are extremely reasonable considering that. The replies I have received from Childcare.co.uk imply that ALL teachers, included tutors advertising on their platform with no, or very basic qualifications, should charge exactly the same amount. Because they had libelled me in that second review, I deleted it and wrote a third where I posted my mobile number and gave her a 5 hour slot in which to call me. Obviously I have now deleted that review and this, I hope, is my final review.
But the reason I feel compelled to post another review is because the outrageous things that the lady answering these reviews has said to other reviewers and I quote directly from these reviews below.

From another one star reviewer,
"I had a very disappointing experience with Childcare.co.uk. My account was permanently closed and refunded after I was accused of acting as an "intermediary" or agency, which I strongly dispute".

As part of the ranting Childcare.co.uk response the lady that answered actually wrote this....
"It is a serious concern that you have taken time out of your working hours, to leave this review, when you are supposed to be caring for children."
Childcare then went on to post a comment from this childminder's Ofsted report which the lady responding to these reviews thought would back up the above statement (it didn't). So Childcare has god like vision and knows that when the childminder wrote this report she was neglecting the children in her care. This is outrageous. I thought only AI bots could be this stupid!

In a similar vein another one star reviewer complains,
"I can't believe you have used private information about my child and circumtances in your reply.....Do not disclose information about my child on this site especially as a way to justify any of the above."
This is what the lady responding to these reviews had had the audacity to write to this reviewer (who had given her name).
"It looks like you are in quite a desperate situation and have some quite complex needs for your child which can't be met by every childcare provider."
I could go on about the aggressive tone consistently used by the lady that Childcare.co.uk is using to respond to bad reviews but l suggest readers make up their own minds.

This isn't the first negative review you have written about our company. In fact, you have written four 1-star reviews in three months, all making spurious false claims.

We chose not to call you after you posted your mobile number in your third review and demanded we call you between 4pm and 9pm.

1. We do not use 'AI bots' or any other machine technology to respond to reviews.

2. Our service is a freemium service. Both parents and providers can register for free. Free members can access a number of features without paying, including reading and replying to messages received and initiating contact with premium members. Over a million parents and service providers have had success with our service, without paying us anything.

3. You wrote your first review in February 2026 after you chose to pay £9.99 for a week of premium membership which gave you the ability to contact all members and for any member to contact you.

4. You claimed you had received a poor response to your messages. We did not agree but very kindly refunded the £9.99 payment you had made as a gesture of goodwill and added a further week of premium membership with our compliments.

5. Further, we provided some helpful assistance to you about how you could improve your chances of success. For example, the contents of the introductory messages you were sending were poor and did not include any niceties. Your profile did not portray yourself in the best possible light and your rates were not competitive compared to our other 51.000+ tutors. Charging £40 per hour plus a further £10 for travel costs (£5 each way), made you really expensive in your area.

6. After we provided a goodwill refund, a week of free membership and gave you some friendly advice, you generously chose to delete the review although we never requested you did so.

7. Your second negative review was posted on Sunday morning at 01:06am and was titled 'How on earth do I ever delete my account?'. You claimed you had been 'trying for weeks'. We found that peculiar because you were no stranger to contacting our very responsive customer support team and looking through your support messages, in the preceding months, weeks and days, you had never requested any assistance in deleting your account. However, you had contacted our support team just two hours and twenty-two minutes before leaving the review saying: 'I wish to close my account and l’m having trouble doing this. I really don’t want any more emails from you. Please could you delete it for me.' It transpired that you had not been trying for 'weeks', but just over a couple of hours, late on a Saturday night. You had left your review without giving us reasonable opportunity to help you. In any event, we do provide a self-service cancellation page at www.childcare.co.uk/cancel which you could have used at anytime.

8. Whilst we appreciate that you want to receive lots of work from platforms like Childcare.co.uk without paying anything, the reality is that building and operating a platform comes with huge costs and the platform provider has to have a business model to help cover their overheads. Once you have found a customer, they are yours to keep and you may deal direct with them both on, or off our platform. We don't charge commission fees or other agency style costs. We don't think that £9.99 including 20% VAT is an unreasonable cost for you to spend a whole week sourcing new customers.

9. You told us about your favoured tutor platform and they charge parents £39 a month, plus take 10% of the fees tutors earn when paid through their online payment system. We feel such fees are very excessive for both parents and tutors. Further, that platform are rated just 3.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot whereas we are rated 4.8 out of 5 with over 6000 reviews.

We carefully research and provide a detailed response to reviews, based upon verifiable facts and it is that which you do not like.
