Family orientated place, run by a lovely family. First time I went with my girls. Had a lovely time. Great atmosphere and beautifully decorated from the inside. We had a delicious Matilda cake recommend by a lovely young lady and cinnamon chai. Plus, my daughters enjoyed a frappachino. Had a lovely afternoon. The owner was very respectful and welcoming. Will be coming again with my husband and rest of the family. My go to place in Shawlands. Thank you for your service.

I am writing this after witnessing such horrific poor customer service from not just 1 but all 3 of the female staff members at chai green in Sheffield on Sunday 2/8/26 around 2pm. This is to me such a shocking incident that I must share and the severest action needs to take place if you are indeed a company which cares about its customers. We are regulars at chai green and usually love the food and service but today what happened left m in complete shock. We were a group of 4 and ordered food at chai green in Sheffield and we waited I believe around 50 mins+ and served no food. However this is not just a complaint about how long the food took but During this long wait as the restaurant was humid and no A/C was on, 1 of the members of our group starting becoming gradually unwell and her BP started to drip she said she wasn’t feeling so great and needed some food so I quickly asked a staff member that if possible can you please just bring just 1 portion of chips for her as she is feeling she is about to faint and we are willing to wait as long as needed for the rest of our food but we are very concerned about her as I was aware there were other customers still waiting for their food. The staff member said yes Ofcourse I can after they saw her looking visibly unwell so I reassured the group member with me to try and drink water and to consume the table salt which she did but unfortunately she wasn’t feeling any better. Staff also saw how unwell she was getting and didn’t bring or offer any water either at one point saying sorry we don’t provide table water. Luckily I had a bottle of water and she had that. We saw multiple tables one after the other (they did order prior to us ofcourse) being served and still no chips. I asked again where are just the chips please she is getting worse as her head started dropping down. Staff kept the same straight unbothered emotionless face saying oh ye about that hmm I think it will be coming totally unfazed that this person was potentially going to suffer a health episode. Another 5-10 mins still no chips The unwell group member started getting worse very quickly and worse she began sweating excessively, she said her vision went blurry, her head started dropping down and her head started spinning and she began shaking and her speech slurring she fell forward and tears started streaming down her face at that point we all ran and fanned her gave her water her brother ran across the road to try and get some chips. All we saw the staff doing was staring no emotion no care continuing with other things no offer of support nor did they offer to call an ambulance just simply staring unfazed this to me showed me how long as humans some of us have become. We quickly took her to the car and quickly put on the AC the chips finally arrived and her brother paid for it and quickly ran out to check on her. I also feel it was unfair to make him pay for the chips whilst he was visibly so stressed trying to quickly get to the car to check on his sister but Ofcourse there was no issues with payment of the chips just a lack of human compassion. I started feeling very tearful after witnessing such an awful lack of humanity compassion and care for all 3 Female staff members. I did begin to argue with one of the staff members as I was taking the ill member out as understandably I was so upsert, hurt and angry they treated her so badly and instead of the staff member feeling embarrassed or being apologetic for not acting sooner or offering ice or ambulance or anything the woman tried to give it me right back stating there are other orders before yours when all I asked for was chips not my whole order and that too for a medical reason which I also told her about multiple times prior to the medical episode. I can’t imagine how awful my group member felt to be passing out like that and being offered no support from staff. She is incredibly lucky we were with her to support her as it just goes to show had she been eating alone they would have left her to it and just stared as they did today whilst she passed out or potentially even fell and injured herself. me and my group were mortified seeing such poor customer service and I have a family member with a large following for a food page on Instagram and I am also going to ask her to share what happened today as mortified is the only way to describe it.

First time there paid a fat 28 quid for a stale piece of frerrero Richard cake...ordered Victoria spond. 2 teas..rank..nasty...no spoon to eat stale cake with not that I'd eat it coz it nasty...RIDICULOUS...NEVER EVER AGAIN...NO WONDER THER WERE NO CUSTOMERS IN THE SHOP..

Food has always been one of the best I've had and the house chai is a must to try.

Extremely poor treatment at the Glasgow Shawlands Chai Green. The owner spoke to me aggressively, accused me of breaking a high chair while I was simply lifting my toddler out, and then grabbed the tray with disgust saying it “needs washed,” implying that me and my child were dirty.
He also claimed the tray “is not supposed to come off,” which is concerning because it suggests the high chair has never been cleaned properly.
This was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I hope the franchise owners take action to prevent this happening to other mothers .

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The decor is modern and inviting, creating a relaxed environment that makes it easy to enjoy your time there. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our visit, which made the whole experience even more pleasant.

The food was excellent. You can clearly tell that high-quality, fresh ingredients are used, and the dishes are beautifully presented. Everything we tried was full of flavour and had a healthy touch that we really appreciated. The menu also offers a great variety of creative options, which makes it easy to find something appealing.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. It’s a perfect place for a relaxed brunch or to enjoy a great coffee with something light and delicious. I would definitely love to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chai Green Portsmouth. ☕🥑✨

Awful experience. Puri was too thick, they changed it. The ‘all day brekki’ consisted of curried scrambled egg which seemed to have had a whole jar of salt tipped into it, inedible, even the owner tasted and agreed. To top this, the owner decided a 10% discount was fair compensation for almost half a meal which was inedible, will never visit again, solely based on how the owner values customers! £3 off, really?
