Recommended by Tesco bureau de change, sadly I feel ripped off. It wasn't made clear that the card had a minimum top up and putting £50 on would cost £98. Suffice to say I won't be topping up and wil... Mehr ansehen

Fee charges
Was originally told that I would not be charged for withdrawing euro from a cash point machine and now have found out also that I am being charged for non-use of the card for a certain period
The Canada Post cash passport is a…
The Canada Post cash passport is a lousy product. The people selling it at the outlets have no clue about the product and most unhelpful. I bought it to save fees on using my regular credit card (2.5% in my case). However, if you want to load it up with foreign currency, there is a maximum limit of $500 on line (through a third party vendor called Zenwallet) or $1,000 at a Canada post outlet. Each transaction costs $3. Not a lot, but if you have to load up a bunch of times, it adds up--not a lot less than using your credit card. Plus you can only pay at Canada Post with a debit card. Lots of restrictions on using it overseas. Definitely do NOT recommend this product.

A whole month with no access to money !!!!!
NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS !!!!!!!! In the UK from New Zealand, Three days before Christmas the card won’t work, contacted CP a UK , they say there was a problem with their system and I need a new card !! Renting in Wales spending Christmas in Sussex, new card won’t arrive till 4th January , so no access to cash for the Christmas period, then I have to go to the expense of more calls when the card arrives . My advice is just take the cash !!!! Their exchange rates are very poor anyway . Another useless millennial firm !!!! It’s now January 5th 2024 and still nothing from them , it seems once you deposit money with them , your stuffed, absolutely a complete con , £3500 and I can’t access it , more phone calls to a foreign country !!! All their fancy advertising is a lie !!!!
Sainsburys charges a sneaky fee because card doesn't work??
The majority of merchants rejected my card in France. There's an inactivity fee, but how can I make my card active if nearly everyone rejects it? The website constantly crashes, and I have tried using it on multiple devices. I have never been able to do anything on my online account. I switched to Monzo which works most of the time.
This card is a modern Travelers cheque.
This card is a modern Travelers cheque.
If you bother to read the fee structure, you won’t be surprised by any fees you incur. The woman who used her card on Ali Express and is blaming the card, for Ali Express splitting her order into three charges, can’t blame the card for that! The guy who’s totally shocked at the inactivity fee charged, should have read the disclosure. Read the disclosure and acquaint yourself with the fees. Compare those fees to your Debit or credit card!
The fees are comparable to what banks used to charge for buying, cashing Travelers Cheques and a 2-3% difference in the exchange rate.
And you are paying for convenience. No more calling a manager over to approve a Travelers Cheque. No more haggling over getting a decent exchange rate.
A great option for many folks and definitely safer than carry cash!
Lies on web site.
If you don't need it they have lies on web page.
It is stated I could get to Canada Post where I purchased it and get back remaining balance and close it. But Canada Post has only add function.
Called them and was told I have to buy online something for remaining balance. Wait some days and call back to close it. Their automated call service is so bad I have to re-enter everything before been connected to typical call center somewhere...
Cash passport worked when I first got…
Cash passport worked when I first got it. Now it won't accept any transactions. Called help line, but they had no idea how to fix it. They told me to turn my phone off and then back on again. I'm going to tap it when buying gas to get my money off the card, then throw it away. Just garbage!
I would not even give this a star
I would not even give this a star. I was sold my cashpassport with the heritage bank in Australia. It worked fine drawing money out but it is restricted to how many currencies you can load. When I went to load more USA dollars I had trouble. You had to take out your American SIM card to get the code to put in the cashpassport app. That’s to my banker brother I was able between his phone and mine managed it. Then I went to Mexico. Well, hopeless! There are two methods to transfer money from your account to cashpassport. I tried with the help of my hotel and either method did not work. I now have to use my visa from the bank who have large fees for international transactions. Very disappointed. I will be having a serious talk to my bank when I get home. DONT USE CASHPASSPORT EVER. It SUCKS!

Just realised the poor exchange rate makes the card much worse than the 3 percentage fee from my bank. Won’t use again
Cash Passport Upload Issues
Tried to load the card at a travel bureau this morning (23rd Sept) and it wouldnt work. Rang Customers Services who said there was a systems maintenance update ongoing and to ring back in 1-2 hours. 3 hours later I tried to load the card directly through the app and it allowed me to get as far as approvibg the transaction in my own backing app before it refused to complete the transaction. Rang Customer Services again and was told the same thing as before (Upgrade and ring back in 1-2 hours). Asked whether the upgrade would be finished today and they were unable to confirm. I then asked since when had the upgrade been running and they told me from 2am yesterday. Thats not an upgrade, thats a major problem and there is no information on the app or their website about the issue. Sent them an email registering it as an official customer complaint.
Update 24/09. Had an email response telling me that they couldnt provide any information via email as it was Customer/Account sensitive and requesting me to call the Customer service desk via their normal phone number. Have responded back as to ask how an outage resolution date and the lack of any information on the outage on their website or their app can be classified as Customer/Account sensitive as it was affecting all Customers. Have closed my account.
Zero customer service
Zero customer service- after 6 attempts (including 3 call hang-ups by them) to speak with customer service as my money wouldn’t reload my card i give up. I’ll have to take some cash from the bank and just convert to euros along the way.
Don’t understand as it worked perfectly for three other trips, just this doesn’t work. Doesn’t help that customer service don’t understand their own product - telling me to keep trying transactions when there is an apparent limit each 24 hours!!! Plus no response to complaint email. And the rest
Transaction fee's up the wazoo
I had the old Post Office Visa through Vancity and it was amazing. But they cancelled that and now have this Cash Passport Master Card and it's a total money grab. You pay to put your money on the card, which no one minded but now pay to take your money out. On top of that there are all kinds of extra fees and some are based off percentage of your own money. Literally all your money disappears from your account in transactions. Great for them. Useless to us. If they weren't so greedy they could have made this an amazing card for everyone. The concept was a real good one. Their greed ruined it....but why are we even surprised, it's the way of the world.
Extortionate currency conversion fees…
Extortionate currency conversion fees when l changed from euros to pounds sterling, l had a balance left on the sainsburys cash passport when l came back from holiday and went into the sainsbury's travel bureau to request pounds sterling, to my astonishment they offered me an loss on my original purchase of over £150! this was not due to currency fluctuations. I declined their offer and phoned the card services helpline who offered me an improved conversation rate but I still lost about £80! After this experience l will never purchase another sainsburys cash passport.
I havesainsburys cash passportsburys cash passport…
I have used sainsburys cash passport for years and have had no problems with it whatsoever, my brother in law had cash, and was pickpocked took all his cash, so i keep mine safe with the cashpassport, also i had a freind who had all his money robbed from his safe in his hotel.

This card has been a total pain from start to finish. We originally got it before Covid , then by the time we wanted to travel again the card had expired. The new cards they sent had an error with the security number on the back so every time I tried to do an online booking with either cats they were declined. When I phoned I was told I must have put the number in wrong. On the third call, the person finally said there was an error with the card and they would reissue two new cards. It took weeks. Now we are in Europe, and the card is OK most of the time, but not accepted everywhere, ie on toll booths with cars backed up behind. We rented a car, and the security deposit which was held on our Cashpassport was returned by the car rental company on July 31st. It is still pending on our card three weeks later, so I phoned customer service. I was told they take 30 days to put it back on the card!! I will never use this card again once we’ve used up the funds, it’s rubbish.
Terrible service cards never received
I ordered a card online 9th July, seemed legit and deposit NZ250. Received email straight away to advise card would be delivered within 5 working days... It wasnt! So phoned and cancelled card (tried to cancel transaction and get funds back was told I couldnt!). They advised they ordered replacement card and that would take 7-10 days...... Didn't receive that either!!!!! Cant ring them as I dont have a card number! Have sent email but really wondering if this is a scam?
Why do I have to give it a star at all?
Why do I have to give it a star at all? Three attempts to reload card whilst overseas, three withdrawals from bank but nothing on cards, customer support is hopeless claiming two business days, phone number results in codes being sent to Australian number, no alternative, im over this card

Cash card is rejected by many merchants in Greece including restaurants, supermarkets, accommodation and retail stores. We have been forced to. carry cash due to the card being unreliable.
