I recently had a great experience with Car City UK. I dealt with Chrisots and Simon and I was treated very very well indeed. I would honestly recommend Car City UK to anyone for your next car purchase.

I’m not one for usually leaving reviews, but the lack of response from this business has prompted this one.

Bought a car and within 3 months the engine management light came on; investigation of which found a hole in the inter cooler, glow plugs needed replaced and the oil had been overfilled. Amazingly none of this was picked up when the car was supposedly serviced by yourselves before collection.

The warranty covered some of this cost, but appeals to Car City UK to contribute to the additional cost have fallen on deaf ears. My advice is avoid these cowboys.

Avoid this company at all costs to save yourself stress, money and alot of difficulty.

We were sold a car that had no catalytic converter at point of purchase and we were not informed. 2 days after collection an engine light came on in relation to CAT sensors and when we took it back the salesman told us it had no car and they’d get it sorted. It ended in a finance dispute and they eventually to our knowledge did so.

Fast forward 9 months when we took it for its first MOT and it turns out the car was not there, there had been a straight pip put in its place and the sensor wires had been cut to prevent the light coming back on.

We went back to the finance company to be accused of doing it ourselves or it being stolen. Then had to get the ombudsman involved. After months of arguing Car City collected the car to take it to have a look and check job repair cards. They then once again tried to blame us by providing one irrelevant job repair card and said that a mechanic would’ve pointed it out anyway. We’ve never heard a work from the garage since they took the car and have been paying for it all this time. 5 months now with no MOT, 2 months they’ve had the car back and they’ve never even told us what’s happening.

Thankfully have come to a conclusion where we are being reimbursed for these 5 months and the finance is being settled, thanks to the financial ombudsmen but I would warn everyone away from this garage

Please avoid and go anywhere but here!

Brought a car and after 2 weeks of using it had so many issues and problems, told them and they were no help! it financially ruined me
the cars they sell are really dodgy. they also lie about servicing the car as I never received service papers and when i asked they said it might have got lot in the system....

Really good service however false advertising on social media held at ransom and wouldn't settle my other finance and the company was willing to put me in financial difficulty

Bought a BMW 3 series. I really don't enjoy buying and selling cars but it had to be done. A good experience at Car City Darlington. A couple of issues when I picked up the car that were sorted out very quickly. Great people to deal with that I believe want to do the best they can to make this a good experience. Would not hesitate to deal with them again.

I tried to buy a used Kia Sportage over the phone and Neil promptly provided all the required information, ultimately taking my £100 deposit. The car could not be collected as it was being serviced at the main dealer. and after a week I queried this will Neil who said an engine fault had been discovered during the service and it would take up to two weeks to fix. I initially agreed to this, however as time passed and my part-ex decreased in value I phoned the main dealer who told me this wasn't quite the case. The car had been recovered to them on a low loader as the engine didn't work and it would need stripping down and potentially replacing. I contacted Car City UK and they agreed to return my deposit. Nothing happened and on chasing a week or so later they asked for my bank details. Now almost three months on, communication has stopped and I have had to claim against them under S75 Consumer Credit Act. Thankfully I paid the deposit on credit card, but it shouldn't be this much hassle. Effectively they have lied and then stolen my money. Do not use.

I've had an absolutely amazing experience with Car City UK! From the start the website is amazing its so easy to find your next dream car.
I delt with Christos, and he has been absolutely fantastic, very friendly and guy who couldn't do enough to help us! He made everything so easy, I was kept informed and up to date at all times.
They looked after me so well that I decided to get the wife her dream car. If you are thinking about getting a new car I 100% recommend calling Car City UK or have a look at the website.

Bought a car from Lewis. Kept me informed all the way through the purchase and was a real pleasure to do business with. Told him of a few snags on the vehicle and he want and go them all sorted.
When we took the car found there to be 2 or 3 more things wrong and he got it booked in to be rectified straight away.

A good lad to deal with

Edit……. Sold the car a year later as had lots of faults. Bad oil leak. Cover for belt missing and other bits picked up by local mechanic when looking at oil leak that the garage never fixed properly. Went in a few times for the same things.

We did tell the team Mario and it didn’t get fixed. Had to have a new belt and crank fitted!!!

Was told that wasn’t covered as I wasn’t sold a warranty that isd asked for and assumed it had!

Wouldn’t buy there again

I enquired about a vehicle with Car City UK via Autotrader and in less than 12 hours I had a response from Trevor Seal. He quickly answered my query and helped obtain figures for a potential sale. He was extremely helpful and flexible and I couldn’t fault the prices either! Compared to another garage we went to initially (only because that where we got our original car from) they had completely tried to take us for a ride in regards to our part exchange. Super friendly and would definitely recommend Car City and Trevor to anybody!!

Unfortunately I have had to edit this review as the car has had a number of issues since collecting it. It has now been resolved but the lack of communication from Trevor and then issues with our previous finance not being settled after this being sold to them has left us at a monetary loss and a bad taste in our mouth. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t use this dealership again.
