Positive and challenging.
Just returned from my 3rd Bunnik trip, and my 1st trip to Turkey and Greece. This was a busy tour, most days starting from around 8am and arriving at our destination 6pm ish. Our group were experience travellers, from all over Australia and were fun to travel with. The guides were enthusiastic, Erhan in Turkey was a great, and the drivers excellent. The countryside in both countries was different and inspiring. I was prepared that my dietary issues may be an issue, our accommodation was at 4 and 5 star hotels and should have been able to cater, but some meals were just disappointing, yet on the cruise they were outstanding. After a long day and then having to negotiate a meal, was frustrating. My companions generally were happy with their meals. I would recommend visiting Turkey and Greece both are impressive, for me highlights were ballooning at Pamukkale in Turkey, the mountain top monasteries at Meteora in Greece, and buskers in Athens were a treat.
Due to the pace, we had minimal free time, which was disappointing. To improve this, cut out the cooking classes and the wineries, the cruise was not the way to visit the Greek islands, and give options when visiting areas, instead of doing everything, as we often missed local interaction and exploration. For those who have dietary issues, and don’t speak the language, take food/snacks with you, and investigate what food is available for consumption. For example, in Turkey, rice is often cooked with flour, who knew? never read that information on any of my research.
