Placed an order for a patio set on 12th May. It was a 6-10 weeks lead time.

I chased it up because I was emailed in July saying it would be ready for despatch on 21st July. They have now emailed (6th Aug) saying it won't be despatched until 27th August.

This would make it 16 weeks by the time I receive it when it's almost Autumn!!

Rang up saying this was unacceptable and why has it suddenly been prolonged for 5 weeks. No explanation or apology .

Ended up asking for a refund and I will buy elsewhere. Even thats going to take 10 working days to get back!!

Person i spoke with gave the impression that they couldn't really care less

I would seriously think twice about ordering anything expensive as the customer service is shocking and there's no guarantee when.you will receive it.

Frustrated to write this review but just fed up with the response we have had.
Brought a bench for round a tree. It came in two parts. The first appeared all right. The next day the other part came delivered covered in brown tape and fragile tape all over it. It took me about ten minutes to get into the parcel. Not really that bothered at this stage. It was what was inside that mattered.
The bench was damaged but could live with that to a degree. However it had no instructions and no fixing kit or bolts with it.
Have spent a lot of time trying to sort this out now. No bolts or even information om what bolts are needed. British iron works????. Need fifteen of them apparently. In fairness they have offered us 15 per cent off but due to having to buy alot of different bolts that saving has now gone.
They said they would call bavk but they havent.
In short be careful. They appear to send stuff out and in this case things are missing. You have to spend hours on the phone to them and it becomes hard work
I find it strange that british iron works fail to send an incomplete bench out without bolts and then cant get any. They cant even offer advice. Rubbish and wont ever use again. I mean how hard is it.

this is an amazing place, the staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you.
we have had the afternoon tea which is out of this world and the staff give you boxes to take what you cannot finish home with you.
The Iron works is so good and is always evolving so there is always something new to see.

Organising a trip for our church ladies - its been a bit complicated finding a date that works but all the lovely people at the British Ironworks have been so helpful and kind. We are looking forward to our trip.

I recently purchased "Chester the Robin." The physical item itself is very nice, but the marketing on the website is incredibly misleading. The page heavily implies the item is made in-house using local landfill scrap metal ("things we can create").

However, after noticing the exact same item on budget import sites like Temu and a 5-week pre-order delay on their site (matching overseas sea freight timelines), I contacted customer service. They explicitly admitted in writing that the item is NOT made on-site so is completely outsourced. The item arrived with an label containing broken English, confirming to me it is a mass-market import.

While customer service quickly issued a 50% refund when I confronted them with this evidence, they refused to answer where the product is actually manufactured or provide any sustainability sourcing proof. Be aware you are paying a premium markup for a mass-produced global import, not a locally crafted artisan piece.

Thank you for making our experience so positive, very helpful and efficient staff, approachable and made sorting out a school trip very easy. Very unique experience, excited children before during and after. Excellent customer service and all the information provided. A fantastic experience and an educational, fun filled trip with lots of wow moments!

What an amazing afternoon! The sculptures are varied and fun to look at. Brilliant for children. We also had a cream tea. Wow! It was beautiful. We're bringing our class of Reception children next. Can't wait.

What an amazing day for our staff and students from our school! The students loved it! (Staff too!) They enjoyed walking around all of the sculptures and there was such a variety to see! The students also enjoyed the playpark provided for when we stopped for a lunch break. The cafe, the shop, the sculptures, the environment was all so lovely. Overall an amazing day!

Fantastic day out for young children. My two young boys love the sculptures especially the superheroes and the dinosaurs. The park is great and the cafe is good. A great place to visit for a day out.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered quite a few things, and as lovely as they seem, some were very cheap looking. The snail boot arrived with an important screw missing, after weeks waiting for it to be especially made. Customer Services are reasonably ok with the response times, however, communication is not good. I was asked to pack it back up and take it to a parcel drop off. After explaining that it was very heavy and I could not print out a returns label, I asked them to arrange a courier to collect, which was eventually arranged for a Wednesday, after a few emails back and forth. Gareth appears to have forgotten as it was still waiting to be collected a week after the agreed day. After contacting CS again, it was eventually collected. Disappointingly though, instead of sending a replacement, a refund has been issued for slightly less than it appears I originally paid. I just feel that they are not passionate enough about their customer service. A huge let down.

We are incredibly grateful to the British Ironwork Centre for their generous support of our London Marathon fundraiser in aid of RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital. Their willingness to donate a prize for our fundraiser truly made a difference to the success of the event.

It’s fantastic to see a local, family organisation actively supporting community fundraising and helping to raise money for such an important cause. Their generosity shows a genuine commitment to giving back.

Great place to visit. Lot's top see and do and many unique items that you won't see anywhere else. The Cafe is also great. Staff are friendly and it's really worth a visit if you’re in the area.

What a fantastic place to visit. So many sculptures to see set within a huge park. We bought winter passes which allows us unlimited visits until mid February. We've visited 4 times now and we still haven't seen everything. The sculptures are not only spectacular and so beautifully made, each only also has detailed information boards, making them educational too.
Can't wait to visit again!

Claire provided excellent customer service over the phone. My issue was resolved quickly, with a friendly voice ready to help. Would highly recommend British Ironwork Centre! Though the product I ordered wasn't what I expected from the photo on the website, it was very good quality, and I would be willing to order from the company again. As a buyer, it would be great to see photos of the item (in this case, shelf brackets) in use by other buyers or in varied lighting.

Had problems on line ordering a mail box, called and spoke to a real person, no chat bots here!

Huge choice of mail boxes, mine arrived promptly and
it is good quality.

My friend was given a voucher for afternoon tea.
It was amazing. Brought the cakes home as didn’t get chance to eat them.
Food was fantastic. Service was great.
Couple of things we didn’t realise, friend had booked and didn’t think to ask questions, as her son had given it she didn’t know what type he had booked.
1st, we weren’t told what flavour soup we had.. although it was delish, there could have been issues.
2nd. We were told we could have 2 drinks each, hot or cold. However we didn’t know until we asked that we could have alcohol, ie Prosecco etc.
3rd, and let me say, there was no rush on us to leave. But we didn’t know until we looked after that a 3pm booking only allows for 60mins to eat!

After all this though.. it was excellent, will definitely return. Good job, Shout out to Sarah too. Above and beyond.

The name of this company is very misleading. Having spent £500 on what I expected to be British Iron, since it comes from the BRITISH IRONwork centre I was annoyed to find shipping labels from India on the biggest packing box. Funnily enough the inner boxes had cardboard patches over where I assume the labels would have been! It seems they may have omitted to remove the outer one. Lovely items but NOT BRITISH.

We are visiting with a class of Yr5+6 pupils in November and wanted to say how easy and efficient the booking process has been. The website is really informative and Rosie couldn't have been more helpful. We're all very excited for our trip!
