The team at Bournes were fantastic from our initial assessment and information session right through to the day of our move. Emily managed the move brilliantly and was at the end of the phone to answer any questions and make the changes that we needed. We had the excellent full packing service the day before, which was a massive help for us, and we had a totally smooth move without any breakages or damage
thanks to the great crew. Thank you!

They didn’t wrap some precious items (irreplaceable pictures just floating around in the back of their van so glass broken and custom frames damaged). The only reason they are getting 2 stars is their customer service lady was very kind and the packing service was actually useful (just a shame they didn’t think my newly framed pictures - yes they were told this - were of value or needed protecting).

I also watched as they pulled the top off a chest of drawers because they wanted to carry the whole thing down the stairs (in spite of the drawers being empty and easily removed which would have made this much easier to manoeuvre)

We were told there was insurance up to £50 per item, however when I mentioned this (after finding another damaged picture) I was told that as we hadn’t paid extra for insurance we couldn’t make a claim. Please note the items were precious and irreplaceable to US. They weren’t great works of art or valuable trinkets - they were personal and no amount of money could replace.

In all I was really disappointed and I’m still very angry. They just didn’t take any care with our things. Items stacked against other items that could cause damage. A lot of our items will be in boxes for a long time due to refurbishments and I dread to think what I’ll find down the line

Moving is never a particularly pleasant event in itself but Bournes have been exceptional in their customer care. I was surprised to see the company be so professional at every stage of the process: Booking a survey, getting a quote, making the payment, and the move itself were all done professionally and you could trust that on the day, your move will be in good hands.

Knowing we would have to put all our things into storage for quite a while whilst we found a new home, we wanted to make sure we picked the right company that would handle everything efficiently and with care. The team at Bournes were excellent from the initial estimation through to delivering our things over a year later. They definitely helped to make the whole process smooth and simple for us.

Julia was a great support, checking in with us regularly and answering all our questions.

The removals team were friendly, arrived on time and were extremely efficient, making sure they understood exactly what needed to be done. They dismantled furniture, packed everything really well and then, when we finally made the move a year later, they unpacked everything for us just as efficiently. We were so impressed that there wasn't even a scuff mark on any of the walls in the new house despite the number of boxes they had to bring in and the heavy furniture they had to maneuver into the various rooms. We would definitely recommend Bournes!

Lovely guys, polite and courteous.

We booked a recent local move in Tonbridge, Kent and were very happy with the services provided. The team showed up early on the day, were very efficient with both packing and loading. Our completion was a complete nightmare, but thankfully Bournes service was one of the only high points of the day!

I and my family have always used Bournes from the days of my Grandmother, and I would never choose any other firm. They are friendly, fun, incredibly clever at getting most things where they are wanted, even getting my daughter’s belongings up into the old town in Italy when they couldn’t get their van there. All in all a remarkable company - thank you.

We used Bournes to transport our belongings from the UK to southern Spain. Their customer service impressed me no end - Andy and Cristina, our contacts for the move, were very helpful and always had a speedy answer for our questions.
Compared to previous overseas moves we have made, the whole process was easy, smooth and painless all the way. And our belongings arrived faster than we had expected, so couldn't be more happy with this company and would recommend them to anyone. Also, a shout out to St. Georges' movers who did the final shuttle to our new home. Very friendly and professional.

Lifesavers! They managed to fit in a huge last minute move from Buckinghamshire to Cornwall (due to a cancellation) - with 2 days notice - and despite the volume being greater than anticipated, sorted everything out with a minimum of fuss. Super efficient and responsive. They were very careful and export packed many items really carefully because they were going into storage.

The men who came to do the packing were very friendly and helpful.
They were on time and the packaging and transport was done professionally.
We are happy with their service and would definitely recommend them to anyone who need their service.

Very professional throughout from estimation to the last item unwrapped. We went with Bournes based on reviews and their attentiveness from initial contact. We had a couple of weeks to sort out a removals company and the team on the day and their approach and knowledge lived up to the quality of the pre move communication and information. You will pay more than for a man with a van but what you get with Bournes is a very experienced team and peace of mind that these important couple of days (moving 120 miles) that you may not do many times (20 years ago last time!) will go to plan.

All the people we dealt with from Bournes were very professional and highly customer-centric - we really felt that the people we worked with cared for our belongings and were invested in our move being a success.

I cannot fault this team and the service. They were extremely efficient and lovely to have around the house. The team took great care with our belongings and made sure everything was as we wanted it before leaving. It was a really great experience start to finish. I am also hugely impressed with the box collection service, what a bonus!

Excellent service. Arrived on time, each man introduced himself and took time to walk through property to understand requirements in each room. Worked efficiently and took care to protect items for transit. Would definitely use again without question. Extremely highly recommended!
