Buyer beware! Do not ever use big W or affiliated companies online marketplace platform!
I don't think there could be a worst experience. First was the original shipping estimate that then very quickly resulted in notices of shipping delays. Went from 2 weeks estimate to actual shipping of 4 weeks. The unit that was received was faulty (it was small step down transformer) and didn't work at all.
The only process that was available was to being a support ticket which supposedly connected you to the seller. The seller then proceeded to tell you to prove by taking videos and photos that the unit does not work. The onus is on the buyer to prove that the unit doesn't work and delaying messages of trying different ways of switching the unit 'on' (there was only 1 switch that supposedly lit up when the unit is switched on if it was a working unit).
If the buyer and seller are not able to come to a resolution (namely if the seller doesn't want to admit the unit was faulty or a dud) you can only then escalate by another ticket to Big W Support.
If you are someone like me and are time poor and don't want to be dealing with constantly creating tickets and proving that something was faulty to begin with, I recommend staying away from the Big W marketplace and online platforms. Trying to return the item was difficult and time consuming.
Avoid Big W Marketplace- neither Big W nor the sellers care at all

My scam- I had found some headphones to purchase form KG superstore which advertised they were only available online only- could not be collected from a store. I was given option to add to cart which I did. I then downloaded a big w gift voucher to use to purchase them & when I then tried to go further the cart now said could not be delivered to my suburb.- I live metro sydney. I tried numerous australian metro suburbs & continued to receive the same response. Basically it appears they are out of stock & yet they continue to advertise otherwise. when I reached out to Big W & requested I wanted a refund on my gift card as there is nothing else I want to buy, their response was not their problem. They are allowing these stores to advertise dishonestly & they just dont care.

We had a terrible experience our package said it would arrive between 10 and 12 days and it has been 17 days and still hasn’t arrived from Kmart marketplace
Massive delay in delivery
Ordered some simple garage shelves on 27-Mar. As far as I am concerned, I ordered from Big W as one order, yet they split it into two orders. 20 days later, there's only one portion delivered and I already left a review about that delivery, where Hunter Express just dumped the damaged package in front of my building. But the second part has not arrived yet and there are no meaningful updates on the tracking site.
Why can’t Big W deliver goods from the place where the order originated, i.e. Perth in this case. It is hardly some exclusive and rare furniture! Why do they have to deliver that FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CONTINENT?! And with tracking “updates” just stuck in limbo, forever “in transit” with no other info, and some bogus arrival dates that make no sense. If it arrived to WA on 8-Apr, why has it still not been delivered on the 16-Apr???
Do not buy ANYTHING from Big W…
I won't buy from Big W Marketplace again too many bad experiences. But I like Big W and go in store to but a lot. I've always had a really positive experience with Woolworths supermarkets and Big W I just don't know why they let these no name small time sellers operate on their online system there are some really dodgy sellers on there stating 3 business days for delivery when it's a two week minimum. Others selling products they don't even have in their warehouse and can't even get. It's extremely stressful and poor to non existent customer service. I had them hanging up on me multiple times mid call. Called back took 12 business days to find out not only had they not sent out the earbuds but they didn't even have any to send out as the customer service agent revealed during the call. Different to delays in delivery like they had told me. After shopping online regularly for more than a decade I've never had experiences worth complaining about before I used this site.

I spoke to a lady called Amanda about a shoe that I had searched everywhere for.
I explained to her it comes in three varieties - narrow, regular and wide. She said she will check with the supplier and it would take three days. She said I would receive an email to confirm the request.
One week later I speak to another lady called Shila and ask her about the shoe and the type of variation? She asked if I got an email, which I responded no. She searched and said she couldn't find a note from Amanda. She then tried to re-book the enquiry for the shoe variation and it turns out it has now been sold. This shoe is so hard to find and when incompetence slaps you in the face it prompts you to write a review and save others from feeling like this.
Big W is a joke.
I didn't realise Big W was selling on behalf of anyone else. When my order couldn't be fulfilled, I received an email so full of bad grammar, I was initially shocked. And Big W then passes you off to Marketplace to sort it out. Who then back and forth you with the seller. While my issue was sorted out, I don't expect to buy from Big W and then discover some random seller in the Philippines has all my details. Creepy way to do business. It's dishonest. Temu feels safer, at least with Temu you know who you are dealing with and if the order is wrong, they sort it out no drama. Big W doesn't improve their brand by an association with Marketplace to bring more items, instead they cheapen their brand by offering confusion, wasted time and unwelcome surprises. The online website is a total mess. Big W is trash, it's on par with a clearance warehouse. It's not worth it.
I purchase a a soft,plush
I purchase a a soft,plush, pink, comfortable dog bed from the online Big W Market Place, but I accidentally ordered a large and it's massive. Well you can't go to Big W to exchange it or get a refund. You have to go to the seller who contacts you via email. The seller was Prime Cart and they don't do exchanges but they will refund some of my money. First I have to pay for the large dog bed to be returned then they charge me a restocking fee of $5.99 and a dispatch fee of $7.55 so I'm left with $26.41 and the dog before cost me $39.95. Unbelievable!!! I will never purchase anything online from Big W Market Place again. So disappointed.
Don’t use BigW market place or really carefully read the refund policy
I’ve always shopped at BigW and have never had a bad experience. They have now introduced BigW market place. I suggest when ordering from these independent retailers you check their refund policies. I’ve had the WORST EXPERIENCE dealing with them. I got a toddler rail which ended up being to big for my sons bed. So instead of them refunding me they asking me to take pictures of it before they refund me. Claiming it to be a change of mind. It’s not a change of mind when the item is deemed unsafe. It’s in its original packaging. Terrible way to deal with a customer. I won’t be using them again
An update. Once I contacted BigW and not the retailer themselves I was able to get a refund from BigW. However the retailer on marketplace was terrible to deal with. I was happy that BigW could see how the online store was being unreasonable.

I don't mind if you can't return the item, but the lack of communication is unprofessional and simply off-putting. This will be my first and last time I purchase from the marketplace; in fact, I will shop less at Big W.
Stay away from them!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I purchased a high-ticket item specifically because the product page clearly advertised 'change of mind' returns. However, the company hides restrictive exceptions deep within their terms that contradict their own marketing. To make matters worse, they seem to have disabled the ability to leave product reviews on their site, which feels like a deliberate attempt to suppress negative feedback. Proceed with caution—this company prioritizes sales over transparency.

Devanti Portable Washing Machine Twin Tub 7KG White bought on Big W Marketplace does not have a drainage pump, and the drainpipe is too short. It can only gravity drain when in a lowered position close to the floor. The machine will not spin dry or empty unless it drains into buckets which have to be frequently emptied by hand. The washing machine is useless and does not comply with what a twin tub should be able to do.

Ordered an item off big W market place. It was very small and could have been posted in an envelope but took 7 days to even get to Australia post and took 2weeks to arrive. It would have been faster to order off temu for a quarter of the price which is probably what they did.
I ordered a cupboard and it was shaky and dangerous and refused a return
I ordered a cupboard and it was shaky when it was assembled. I have a young child at home and requested to return it. After more than a month of going back and forth they refused to allow a return even when I have sent multiple videos of how dangerous the cupboard is from ADVWIN. They eventually offered a measly $30 refund on a cupboard I paid $289.40 for including the delivery fee and basically told me to go make a complaint if we are still unhappy. There is a serious lack of care for their customers and their experience. I have been going to Big W regularly and going forward I will be boycotting this company. Its tragic how they over a small amount of money they are willing to lose a customer for life.

ordered online from big w market item coming from Melbourne to Perth paid for postage still waiting 14 days later still waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! expect this sort of time line if free delivery but not when paying, orders from overseas arrive quicker
