Love Wavelengths classes, Rhian & Topaz are incredible - they push you but are really supportive and it’s always fun & worth getting up early for!

There is a wonderful community atmosphere too. Highly recommend!

Topaz and Rhian’s morning spin class has transformed my life. They are so inspiring and caring. Not only have I lost weight, no longer have knee pain, their class is fun and everyone is do friendly. It is a joy to get up at 6.40.

Zumba with Rhian and Topaz is such a vibe, everyone is made to feel welcome young or old beginner or regular. I am obsessed.

I would like to take the opportunity to provide a review of Wavelengths. For context, I have been a longstanding user of Lewisham Leisure facilities over the years. From the various incarnations of management from direct management of Lewisham council; Pinnacle; Fusion and now Better.
I recall living in Sydenham and walking every Sunday morning to swim (alone) at Forest Hill Swimming Baths from a child, 9 years old so I could join the “white kids” in the medal group and yes, I made it to GOLD. Unfortunately, I didn’t take my Secondary teacher’s advice to pursue my swimming at Crystal Palace for further advancement.
However, I always enjoyed the use of Lewisham’s leisure facilities. I recall taking my daughter, now 32, for baby swimming lessons at was then known Lewisham Swimming Pool. Over many years we would attend Wavelengths on a Friday evening where we would swim together, and I would enjoy a relaxing sauna.
My main centre of choice was the Kangley Bridge where I attended for many years, doing fitness classes, gym and my 300-length swim on a Saturday afternoon followed by a girly chat in the Sauna. As a result, we shared our highs and lows, and I made some lifelong friends.
Unfortunately, the centre closed, and I had to find an alternative; Wavelengths with its sauna, pool, fitness classes and gym seemed ideal, and I thought I’d give it a try.
In terms of Housekeeping this requires a complete overall, but I want my review to focus upon why (when ready) the reason why I choose and will return in perpetuity. Last year, I asked my GP to refer me, and I tenderly dipped my toe into the fitness classes.
Rhiann was the instructor (even if she can’t get her head around it). She is great, full of energy, especially if you want a WAKE-UP CALL in the morning, and BTW if you really want a bird’s eye view of squat, she’s built for it lol, she’s the BOM!!! (it’s an In-house joke). Her youthfulness during cycle and Zumba is contagious ; I hope that she will grow in confidence and hone her skills; besides I need to keep up with de young people ting.
But back to the beginning… Rhiann kept harping on about this Topaz... (I was like what)

Of which she is, she is a true professional. I have been attending for over 30 years and T is the BEST. When I joined, I felt overweight, mentally fatigued and bloody bored. I knew that I would be encountering some major hurdles in my life, and I knew from experience that exercise is a wonderful antidote to life.
I have attended many of Topaz’s classes, and I will outline some of the benefits that I have enjoyed below:

Whether you are a beginner or a long-timer, Topaz works the room effortlessly. She has the capacity to know when to apply the carrot or the stick and if you follow her instructions, you will feel that you have had a workout.
More importantly, she is genuine, and her personality has resonated amongst the regular attendees at her classes; there is a real sense of camaraderie and newcomers are always welcomed.
Topaz is always on hand to answer any technical questions and continuously looks at ways to push her class.

It’s a shame that I have had to complain about the Duty Manager as I do not feel that I can return until this matter is resolved.

I love the Zumba classes with Topaz and Rhian. Never had so much fun in a dance class ever! All levels are welcome. They’ve really built a fantastic community. The spinning classes are great too.

Great Gym! Swimming pools for kids and adults (separate), a sauna, and plenty of cool group classes.

I’m Zumba-obsessed, I’ve been doing it since the early days of Zumba 15 years ago. Beyond the initial hype years, it’s been extremely difficult to find a good quality class, so I was beyond delighted to discover this gem of a class at Wavelengths. A top 1% class with incredible teachers!

Centre was clean and had good facilities. Staff were friendly and attentive. Shop stocked good products. No complaints from me.

Lovely clean pool and great gym. The Wavelengths receptionist was really helpful and showed me all the activities on offer. I was pleasantly surprised by just how clean the centre was (and actually saw staff cleaning the changing rooms during my tour). Would definitely recommend a visit !

When you go there and ask for information, or read the information on the website and app, they tell you about opening hours but don't tell you anywhere that certain times are reserved for specific groups. So you subscribe, you get there and you find out you can't use the facilities and need to go back home. Very unclear and dishonest.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I have received so far regarding my baby’s swimming classes.

I registered my child at the beginning of December, and he was scheduled to start on the 5th of December. Unfortunately, he developed a fever, so I went to your facility to inform the reception team. However, I was met with rude behavior, and I was told the manager would contact me. To date, I have not received any communication.

Additionally, I recently discovered that the classes scheduled for the 19th and 26th of December have been canceled without any prior notification. I have tried to contact your team multiple times regarding this matter, but no one has responded to me.

This lack of communication and professionalism is extremely disappointing,

I absolutely love this gym! The teachers here are outstanding—knowledgeable, motivating, and always willing to help. Their dedication shines through in every lesson, which are not only well-structured but also highly engaging and tailored to all skill levels. The variety of exercises keeps things fresh, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my fitness and confidence since joining. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, this gym and its amazing instructors will support you every step of the way. Highly recommended!

Wavelengths has Great pool for fitness swims clean staff can be helpful but unfortunately after all the changes sauna and steam room open new they can't seem to get showers to work properly either not working at all or they are freezing cold but overall would recommend visiting

I’ve been to Wavelengths Leisure Centre a few times now. It’s become frustrating that the Men’s Group changing rooms has been closed. Also there is very limited showers and not all seem to work.

My main concern is the cleanliness of the site. The cleanliness is unpredictable but usually very poor. I often visit Friday / Saturday mornings. The last time i visited on the 11th October i was so disappointed and disgusted that the site would be so bad dirty and uncomfortable (hair in changing rooms, dirty floors, dirty surfaces). i reduced my stay and had to leave after a short while.

Mostly everything is good bit expensive and most of the time there's no hot water

I’m still waiting to be contacted about an operatives mix up.

Joined Wavelength, been few days, clean and welcoming.

Terrible course and unreasonable cancellation notice of 20 days.

I opted for a swim course for beginners and improvers. There's a lack of safety precautions, no clear teaching, people swimming across lanes.

The class is for a range of abilities but it's clear there are some that need better tutelage to make the pool safe for all.

So far I enjoy swimming at wavelengths. Great teacher, though there was a teacher shouting I don't like it and we told her. Toilets are not clean it smells. But in swimming lesson comparing to the one I had previous experience wavelength is a lot better.

the online booking system consistently doesn't match the real timetable so I arrive at the centre and am told I can't swim or I have to leave after 10 mins. The floor is always very dirty
