I have had the pleasure of working on matters with Barrister Nadeem Aslam Khan with understanding for sensitivity and honour and respect. He has been steadfast in the face of adversity and behaviour known as SLAPP with/for other harassments and maintained his honour and integrity of Bar Council Standards. He’s assessed the matters accurately and efficiently in my best interest and treated me as family. I’m proud that Barristers like Nadeem Aslam Khan exist in the United Kingdom.

I contacted Clerksroom Direct with less than 2 weeks to go before a final court hearing outlining what specific expertise I was looking for. I was really concerned that the timescale was so tight there would be no quality barrister available. I needn't have worried.

Rory responded promptly and reassured me Clerksroom Direct would be able to help. He came back a few hours later recommending Stephanie Heijdra. She was totally professional and spent nearly two and a half hours going through my daughter’s case with us. Her questions were pertinent and got to the nub of each problem. Her eye for detail was laser sharp.

Stephanie has a gift for ‘reading’ people accurately which came into play in court. My daughter and I were delighted with the outcome which seemed little short of a miracle, given the starting point.

Nadeem aslam - represented me in court. Now! I don’t ever write reviews, nor do I like to bad mouth people, or hurt peoples feelings! That is not my intention when writing this review.

But I feel that I should give people the heads up, who may also be in a very similar situation, im not saying that this will be the case may be in all situations but after a very distressing couple of years, I had decided that my only option left to resolve my family issues, was to have to attend court. After my first hearing & representing myself, I decided for the my Final hearing, that I would instruct a barrister, because I didn’t have a solicitor I instructed a barrister. What I did not know, was this was going to be a complete waste of money. To break this down, without rambling on and going into to much detail.

In 2021 my ex-partner took both my children from me, (because I had a new partner) Police wouldn’t do anything. After a few months my eldest came back to me, & he kept my youngest son. But he would only let him come to me once a week & every other wkend. I tried mediation, that didn’t work, as my ex-partner would not agree.
I tried speaking with him, everything. So all that was left was to attend court to be able to get something in place where I could spend more time with my son. Went to court in June this year, & I represented myself. The next hearing was this August.

I contacted clerksroom direct, and was allocated a Barrister. Who I was told he would be in touch, to arrange a convenient time to telephone me, which he did not. He telephoned me at 7:00pm the evening before. He was on the call all of 3 minutes. 😳😲 when we arrived at court & met with him the next morning.
It was as though he had not read through my statement or my respondent’s statement what so ever! He had no idea about any form of psychology abuse or manipulation or anything of the other that me & my children have been put though. Which if he had read my statements then he would have been aware of.

It was as though all he had read was the statement that CAFFCASS had wrote. As that’s all he seemed interested in,
as he said that this is not about you, or what you want. It’s about the children.
Yes, fair enough I agree to some extent. But at the end of the day. They are our children & we should have equal rights to spend equal time with them.
The Barrister even said to me, “I don’t know what we are even doing here! You’re wasting your money!!” He even said that, his own words. He didn’t seem to want to fight for anything else that I wanted. He didn’t seem interested in the case at all.

The issues wasn’t just about time spend with children I wanted to raise other issues up. Which was not even going to get looked at or argued by him, he didn’t want any to entertain any of it, he just wanted to free up court time & get off early.

What a waste of £1,800. I am Really disappointed in the service that I received. This was mine & my children’s future. These Barristers need to take things more seriously. At least put abit more effort in and try.

Deirdre Smythe was recently instructed to represent me in family court. She showed both empathy and confidence throughout the build up of proceedings, taking time to listen & understand past experiences. Without her help in creating the bundle for court & her expertise in court orders, we would not have secured this outcome for our family. She was confident & concise in the court room & a real help to all involved.

Clerksroom Direct were unable to find choice of a barrister to honestly advise on a neighbour dispute property damage claim, re: merits on whether to Appeal, though found one, but I feel did not give proper advice on my options, act in my interest as a client with limited affordability & disability, but more in procuring business. It materialises I was advised to appeal and apply to the Court for an Oral Hearing unnecessarily. I complained to Clerksroom Direct, but their resolution fell short of expectations. I sought another barrister from CD to represent for the Oral Hearing, but Clerksroom Direct were unable to find any barrister even though they claim they have "1000+ barristers." I am overall really disappointed with not only their overall service, but the introduction of a barrister - the only one available amongst many who has wasted a year of my time, not to mention futile legal expense, frustration, mental and physical stress of handling it all on my own. It was only later in the year I realised of the poor services received.

Wow, CDB has saved my bacon. I briefed 2 barristers before taking a chance with them and I am so glad I did. With 700 to choose from they're placed to find the Councel with the right knowledge and experience to provide sound advice that you can rely on.
The barrister they chose, Huw Shepheard, has phenomenal expertise in tax, and a such a nice demeanour that, if you're in trouble and worried he just calms things down.

I was able to find this clerksroom direct through a solicitor from a firm who could not provide emergency cover for my brothers hearing. Within less than half a day,Charlie from direct access barrister was able to cover me with a barrister, Stephanie, who was able to represent my brother the following day. I really appreciate it all despite the short notice. I am really happy with the outcome and appreciate the help I received from Charlie and Stephanie last minute. I would highly recommend them !

This clarks room barristers ( these are a platform for services of Barristers and are responsible for the service they provide to the public) I went though and got put in touch with a barrister ,Divorce/financial we did a contract, for hearing before the final as searches needed to be done and needed + court jargon for it to.well waste of time and money. I had to show my findings to the judge had no option then judge had to compel barrister to do a search of which he has failed todo..so I risk my life to get eveidance he boast he can do this he was a policeman ( ya we know how that works) work in the system ! I paid for answers..Now want my money back and my files .barrister did not carry out the contract to which he agreed todo. It seems respondent wealth is more interesting along with the judges to.my questions to him and my instructions he took no notice off..instead tried to intimidate me in thinking my worth was nothing.I feel lost and abandoned by a person of uk justice system who I connected with though clarksroom Barrister's ..This Barrister has not contacted me in nearly a year now. I have tried to contact him I even found him though another website he went though and had a zoom call he didn't know it was me, and he said he has spoken to the judge and respondent? And did I have respondent email.address! When he clearly has spoken to him and the judge and respondent have clearly talked.shop ..excluded me..but I have no wealth!! I have ask Sam to get me answers but now they just go to voice mail..I want my money back and my files..sort out your establishment..friends and business don't mix.engaged Oct 2023 no show on hearing 12.5.2024...still no contact.hopefully actions are taken.
