We had a great experience with Arkiplan from start to finish. The team were professional, helpful, and always quick to respond to any questions we had throughout the planning process. Unfortunately, our planning application was rejected, and we decided to withdraw rather than pursue a revised application.

What really stood out was how easy and straightforward the refund process was—Arkiplan refunded all of our fees with no issues at all, exactly as promised in their original agreement. It's rare to find a company that stands by its word so reliably.

We truly appreciate their honesty, support, and customer-first approach. Would definitely recommend Arkiplan to anyone looking for a stress-free design and planning service.

On paper Arkiplan is a promising business model of remote based services however, there are limitations to this approach, no site visit by the designer or structural engineer has lead to design areas being overlooked and structural calculations been overspecified to cover their liability which can lead to further costs with the builders. E.g. double the size steel beams specified than required, suggestions were not provided by the design architect using their expertise, only working with the suggestions we have provided. Advice when it comes to planning applications and amendments are generalists, lack of local council knowledge can risk delays to your project and further costs. Overall a convenient service for minor design changes during a renovation but would not take the risk again with external alternations, structural changes or getting support for other design ideas. The service satisfied the bare minimum support but also required extensive research by us on what would be be approved by our council and what is relevant for our project. The design architects get busy very quickly as they take on more work which can lead to delays in delivering on your project. No communication when architect is out of office and when to expect delays. I wish I was able to share a more favourable experience.

With a last minute planning council request, that had a tight deadline, Dave @ Arkiplan smashed it for us. He was attentive, quick and precise. One iteration and we got exactly what we required.

We sought to work with Arkiplan for our loft conversion in a listed building that provided some additional bedrooms for a growing family

From the initial telephone conversation, through the design meetings and final plan sign off, the team were very helpful and offered guidance and advice along the way.

The plans also gave us a better vision that we had not considered for the layout, which we settled on as a final design.

Plans are absolutely excellent. We were complete novices at this and their help is just invaluable. We seem to be going along well and each stage is explained and logging onto the portal keeps everything together and easy to use.

Arkiplan were fantastic throughout. I'd never previously applied for planning permission, but the team at Arkiplan helped at all stages and made the process look easy.

Great service excellent results - working with Arkiplan enabled me to really control my vision for the extension, with the guidance of Megan we could sit over teams and discuss the plans, requirements, regulations and identify the right solutions for any issues after which the team would update the drawings, over the last 18 months I have made seveeral adjustments and tweaks with have been fully supported and then end results and 3D renders have enabled me to share the vision with everyone else involved so we all can agree what we want. Thank you for the service and for the simplicity of working with you and the partners such as the quantity team and structural engineers.

I am very disappointed to see Arkiplan employing tactics that discredit the architecture profession. The claims on your home page and video that architects do not offer fixed fees, immediate start dates, or remote meetings are simply false. Generalizing an entire profession with statements like "no more waiting for an architect" is misleading.

There are many ARB-registered architects who provide a wide range of services, often tailored to suit various needs and budgets. Additionally, architects offer principal designer services in compliance with CDM regulations, which Arkiplan does not provide. This crucial aspect ensures safety and regulatory adherence throughout the project.

While non-ARB registered designers can offer drawing services and submission packs, architects bring much more value to a project, which should not be dismissed. This higher level of service often justifies the variation in fees and can save clients money in the long run.

I urge Arkiplan to promote its services on their own merits rather than by discrediting a profession dedicated to providing quality and comprehensive design solutions.

Sorely mistaken but showing your true colours. I'm a director for a Tier 1 Contractor in London. My daughter is an Architect (specialising in schools and hospitals) and I'm only too well aware of the amount of hard work it takes to become fully registered. I've worked a lot with Architects over the years but nothing in relation to adding simple little boxes on houses. For added context since you appear to be making assumptions, I was looking at your website as a favour for a friend up north. I would have been happy to recommend if it wasn't for the sour grapes.

I have used Arkiplan twice now for an extension and a garage. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful from the outset, even dealt with the planning applications and questions from the Council. Highly recommend them

My partner and I didn’t know what to expect when we first came across Arkiplan. We had significantly higher quotes from architects for the same work and were much slower to respond so were slightly skeptical when we were given this quote. We were extremely impressed with the service, it was efficient, very professional and everything was completed to a high standard. Would recomment

If you have general ideas of what you need, then they were very helpful on realising your wishes and always happy to make any amendments or suggestions. From start to finish the service was excellent, the initial planning call answered all my questions and the communication through the portal made everything so easy. Being able to view the plans and make changes or ask questions was a breese. The plans were approved first time and our builder had no questions or issues. Fast, simple, cost affective solution.
