A few weeks ago I wanted to adopt a cockatiel that had been in the pet shop since November with his budgie buddy. I was blocked because no matter what size cage I had suitable for cockatiels they were not big enough in their view. This week I have tried to purchase a budgie but yet again no matter how large my cages are, none of my Ferplast budgie or cockatiel cages are large enough in their opinion. It seems to me that they are not interested in selling just a bird without making you dig into your packet for a new cage from them. It is so sad that their birds seem to be held back from their forever, loving home due to their policy which is so different to other bird shops.

Bad company no care for animal welfare as they are kept in small enclosures and they sell illegal sized hutches and tanks for customers wanting to buy a animal

My elderly mum went in one of the shops. She bought a tortoise which was about 1 inch long. It was over 600 pound with a tank and equipment to keep it in. She paid in cash. They assembled and the tank was 5 feet long it was too big for her flat. They have said they can only give her a credit note pathetic.citizens advice here we come AVOID AVOID what makes it worse my mum used to cook cakes and scones for this shower in the Hemel Hempstead store when she had her dog. Is this really what you do to a lady in her late 70s. What can she do with a 600 pound credit note.

Visited their Henlow branch with my daughter for information and possible purchase.
Found the staff there to be knowledgeable, friendly and conscientious about their animals. The staff member I spoke to really cared about where the animals were going, how they were going to be housed and the customers understanding of care.
The shop itself was clean, organised and well stocked with both livestock and supplies.
Will visit again.
