Harlyn Bay. We paid for a 1 hour stay and left after 48min and 28 seconds. We paid cash and put the ticket on the dashboard. I have now received a penalty notice stating that I never purchased a ticket. Unfortunately I didn't keep the ticket, who does, so of course this bunch of thieves don't believe me.

Be aware - parking is for total time at the car park, rather than the usual how long you're actually parked for. They take a photo on arrival and leaving - it's not well signposted and I hate to think how much money they're making from customers. I paid for 4 hours and due to loading and unloading the car on a beach day I was over by 8 minutes and received a fine. They seem to be taking over all of Cornwall, but will avoid using Alliance where I can as it's a really unfair business model that cheats customers out of money without clear signage.

If you see a car park run by these heartless baskets, drive on! They should be ashamed how they make their money.

made me really Angry I didn't even go over my ticket time but they are fining because I didn't display my ticket in the car, I think this is very Harsh, do you think they would take to you to court or are they just trying to scare us, private company's haven't the same legal rights as the council have.
By the way has anyone not paid?

Tried to pay by card at Harlan Bay on 5th June machine only took 80p. Gave up and paid for 4 hours by cash. Kept every ticket purchased during our stay except this one, fined £60. Disgraceful. We visit Cornwall twice a year but maybe we need to re-think this.

Paid for 2 hour ticket then, having such a lovely time at Trevone, went to get another one for one hour
so that we wouldn't incur a fine for the extra time.
Carpark Cameras only recorded one hour of payment. Who keeps parking tickets to prove they have paid? Us from now on!
Car park land is owned by Trevone Beach Shop. I spoke with Derek there whose only comment was thst Alliance Parking manage the site. I suppose he gave them that permission and profits from doing so.
We feel 'stitched up'! £60 or £170 to pay!
Come on, Cornwall or Padstow Council, surely this scam can't be legal.

Why this company is still allowed to trade is a mystery to me.

Their filing history at Companies House makes interesting reading, particularly their accounts made up to 30th September 2021 which contains no financial data whatsoever!

i only wanted an hour's parking, but their app would not accept payment for just an hour. And the machine wouldn’t accept card payment for an hour either. Didn’t have any cash so left.
Received a standard letter demanding £100 reduced to £60 for quick payment.

I paid for 4 hours parking and the ANPR camera clocked a 12 minute overstay. The terms of payment are rediculous as they are from the second you turn in and INCLUDE walking to and from the payment machine and having to wait in a que of other drivers at Harlyn Bay Cornwall. £100 fine reduced to £60 if paid within given time.

Disgraceful company. Ruined holiday with their method of charging for so called parking. They charge from the second you drive through camera beam until car drives out through camera beam. If you havent paid for total time you are on the tarmac, whatever delays you have queuing to get in or to pay at ticket machine etc a £60 penalty is issued rising to £100 rising to £170! More like a scam. BEWARE. Dont visit Cornwall!!

£100 fine for staying 40 seconds over the 10 minute grace period after my daughter had an accident on the beach. Disgusting.

Parking at Daymer Bay car park this evening for a short walk we could not avoid the feeling that Alliance Parking UK are absolutely determined to do everything possible to catch you out.

Beware that there is a significant additional cost for paying by card or on the app compared to paying by cash. These charges vastly exceed the actual transaction cost of processing a card or online payment, and as such would be illegal in many other industries.

Also the £1 for 1 hour option is only available from the machines in the car park, not the app, and what’s more, only for cash, not card, and then only for an actual £1 coin. Ridiculous.

Even worse, they consider the clock starts ticking on your car park time as you drive into the car park, even though it may entirely legitimately take several minutes to park and try the app, give up and walk across the entire car park to get to the machines at the entrance, and pay with cash. Of course the ticket you buy from the machine is time stamped with the time you pay, not the time you arrive, even though you have provided a reg number to buy the ticket so they could work it out and tell you the entry time on the spot if they wanted to (NB they could also help you out and tell you if you have accidentally entered the reg number wrong, but of course they do not… rather I imagine they just rub their hands with glee and prepare the penalty charge notice to send you later, at the same time as you are paying them a fortune for parking your car, despite that fact that it has cost them no more or less because you might have made a mistake on your reg number!)

I think you would be hard pressed to find a company that is less interested in providing a positive experience for their end users, although I presume the private landowners they serve do rather well out of their underhand tactics.

Drove into Daymar Bay car park in Cornwall, only wanted an hour's parking, downloaded app, would not accept payment for 1 hour on app!, so went to machine, but would not accept credit card payment for 1 hour (I do not carry cash - always pay by phone). So left car park, and got a £60 fine - I didn't even park. Web site does not allow appeal.

What a vile company to deal with. We stayed in Looe and had a wonderful time but parking is a nightmare. Alliance Parking have it sown up and the locals hate them. We parked every night but one night our ticket managed to get flipped over (probably when we went back to the car and the wind blew it) so we ended up with a ticket. I appealed it and proved payment but they don't care in the slightest. Cornwall - you need to do better than use scum bag companies to deal with your dear guests. My vehicle was pictured entering Seaview Car Park and again on exiting, a while later. The terms and conditions are only visible once you’ve entered and passed the camera, the moment from when their “clock is ticking” and they say the parking period has commenced and even before you’ve parked and seen that there is a sign! It therefore follows that the car park operator is endeavouring to apply the conditions retrospectively which haven’t been agreed by the car park user and legally are accordingly not enforceable. Further there is no contract between the operator and the user if there are no spaces available - “consideration” has to be afforded in this regard, ie. they provide a parking space and the user pays for it. No available space, therefore no consideration by the operator. In addition I understand that there exists a “right of way/access” through this particular car park to a residential road beyond. Please consider: How does the camera(s) discern that you’ve parked, as required; simply driven in and out owing to there being no available parking space(s); accessed the residential road beyond? If the camera(s) or their operator cannot determine the correct option then, I would contend, that the parking company has no entitlement, notwithstanding what their signage states. The “contra-preferendum” rule can apply in this instance, placing the burden of proof on the parking company to establish that the other party is culpable and not for the user to establish otherwise. Accordingly any charges raised by way of a PCN or other device are essentially not enforceable, for the reasons stated above in respect of this “amenity”. The words “percunary deception”, ie. fraud, come to mind, but that might be too strong a verdict.

We parked at Polzeath having travelled 4hrs 30 min and stopped to pick up some food etc. we paid £1 at the meter but the pay meter would not issue our ticket and the machine would not give back the £1 that we had inserted. They took money from us but because their machine wasn’t working properly we ended up with a £100 PCN. I appealed but they couldn’t care less and our appeal failed. Utter disgrace. They have literally stolen from us

Sat in my car for 10 minutes outside Academy in Barry, didn’t even get out of my car as my friend called to cancel. The joker took a pic of me in my car I didn’t even see him and found out weeks later. Appealed but they weren’t having any of it. £60 fine for a 10 minute stop.. completely unreasonable, especially as other spaces were still available. Should not be allowed to rip people off. Won’t be going there again, which is a shame as the coffees great.

5 min to late and i have 60 pound penalty

I paid for a 4 hour ticket at a cost of £5.50. My stay exceeded this by 18 minutes and I received a £100 fine (reduced to £60 if paid within a set time) This is totally disproportionate to the "offence". It is disgusting that a private company can behave this way. This will encourage me to find parking on public roads and upset residents rather than use paid for, desiginated parking. Poor reflection on Cornwall council as well.
