While their website clearly states that "All prices seen on our site are inclusive of VAT at the standard rate of 20%, except on some sports nutrition and junior shoes (which are Zero rated for VAT)" I was charged and had to pay VAT on my order AND a "presentation to customs fee" after my order was shipped (and already paid for). Except for that, the website states that their rating is "4.9 Based on 1,066 reviews", which does not match with their rating here, and the 1066 mentioned reviews are not accessible. Customer support just ignored my comments about the VAT charged after the purchase. I got the products I ordered, but generally a poor experience, I do not reccommend this seller, buy elsewhere.

The running shop, Alexandra Sports, is re-opening in Christchurch tomorrow next to the Thomas Tripp. They have a treadmill for gait analysis etc.
Apparently they couldn’t get planning permission to install air-conditioning when they were across the road and badly needed it…

That’s worth knowing Peter. Thank you. I got my Goretex Brooks from them in Wick Lane a few years ago and they were very knowledgable and helpful.

The new store at lakeside north harbour is stunning!

Dawn started by analysing feet visually and robustly confirming my biomechanical risks, further evidenced by the volumetric foot scanning tool and the custom orthotics I took along for the fitting which corrected the identified problems. This impressed me. Dawn is extremely knowledgeable on mechanics and gait.

Dawn then selected a range of suitable shoes based on my training preferences and mechanics and we proceeded to conduct a process of elimination of the correct shoes for me. Allowing me to run with a different shoe on each foot to further eliminate the right shoe.

The result: I am now running in the new shoes and knee niggle miraculously gone! Battered shoes now in retirement.

In the past I’ve visited running shops and the service, selection and stock availability has been nothing but poor. Citing end of season for lack of available sizing. Giving the consumer no reason not to buy online.

Today that experience changed. Thanks to Dawn. This is the service I have much needed from a specialist running shop!

Sent a friend here who lives in Portsmouth as I get such great service at Alexandra Sports Winchester…. unfortunately her experience at Alexandra Sports Portsmouth was terrible. They were not at all helpful and just wanted to push her into buying a shoe she didn’t want. Generally arrogant and rude.

Em was very good at putting myself and my daughter at ease. She is friendly and is extremely knowledgeable about the products. Thank you to Angie as well for sorting the best person for the appointment.

Sadly, on the basis they never seem to answer their phone, my rating is poor. I know what shoe I needed and what size but prefer to check live stock than rely on automated systems. 16-03-24. Several calls later and no response. Two pairs required. Yes I can leave a message but I was heading out there and then. No answer no sale. Off to Snow and Rock then sadly.

I was delighted with my visit to Christchurch Alexandra Sports. James who dealt with my gait analysis was professional and helpful. I have a painful foot injury so I needed first rate help. I got that. My new trainers are so comfortable I am over the moon. I highly recommend James who is thorough with every customer. Thank you once again.

I have multiple issues with my feet and ankles so I decided to book in to have a gait analysis and biomechanics assessment to help me find the right trainers. The session was thorough and helped me to find a very comfortable pair of trainers. They didn't have my colour in stock so they ordered them for me and I was able to collect them a few days later. Friendly and knowledgeable team. Highly recommend.

Great friendly service, knowledge and wide range of products. Highly recommended if you're just a beginner to elite, they will help you find the best products for your chosen sport.

Bought a pair of trainers at the end of October 2020 for £130 from the store in Portsmouth. Was initially very impressed with the service that I received from the measurement of my feet to recommendation of trainers for my needs. The trainers that I bought were for running, although I only use them for walking. After 3 months the material has ripped on the heal of the right trainer. I was told that this was because I was walking in a certain way and they suggested insoles, however they assessed my feet, which I paid £20 for, so they should have known that! Alexandra Sports agreed to exchange them for me and said that they would let me know when the replacement pair would be sent down from their other store in Winchester, which should have been last Tuesday! I sent them an e-mail yesterday evening to see what is going on and still haven’t heard anything back from them. I really am not very impressed and should have gone to Sports Direct.

Went back to Alexandra shoes Portsmouth, with an issue with my trainers I purchased in October.
I cannot praise their customer service highly enough in this day of ( couldn’t care less now you h@ve purchased)
The young man who originally served me with my trainers sorted out my concerns in a most polite and courteous manner.

Well. What can I say. I went last week and had the most thorough foot examination of my life. Dawn the manager was amazing and so knowledgeable. I thought I'd had all this done at Sweatshop but this was totally different and they recommended a support shoe rather than neutral. I would 100% recommend Alexander Sports if you want a proper 1:1 assessment, plenty of time and the right pair of shoes for you.

I also liked being able to walk around holding Tito a beautiful little dog who hangs out in the shop 😍

I have been trying to buy some gym shoes here for over 3 weeks and they only have 3 pairs in my size available (size 5)The 3 pairs they have are not suitable so I've been told you have to wait at least another 2 weeks until they get more stock in. They told me this 2 weeks ago as well🙄I was given a voucher at Christmas so I could treat myself in the new year. I don't have any choice but to wait more than a month to use it! The customer service I received at new year was shocking. I've been told twice now just to keep checking the website. Also been told I could come down and they could order the shoes specifically but they will probably take just as long to get here so your better off waiting 🙄 Great service ! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO SPORTS DIRECT!!
