Best experience ever ! My daughter went on the Greece turtle experience . First time travelling by herself and first time doing voluntary work abroad . She loved every second of it . The leaders were amazing , the group all of it . For us parents it’s always scary to let them go , but Vicky helped us and made me trust that all was gonna be fine . She’s already planning another one !

Best family experience!We had a superb week with Finca Ganadito through working abroad. I've been telling everyone about it since we got back. Really well organised! Super friendly hosts. Great with the kids and accommodating them with helping on the farm and on a turtle conservation project. We packed so much into the week. Watching turtles hatch and returning them to the sea, biodiversity data collection, planting veggies, making compost, yoga, Spanish lessons, fruit tasting! Lovely food from Rebe and her team. The accommodation was outstanding. Beautiful house on stilts. Our hosts were great and so knowledgeable. One of our favourite activities was collecting coconuts, opening them with machetes, making coconut milk and oil, and finally making it into soap. Amazing! We added 2 tours, one snorkelling and one to Corcovado National Park. We had a chance to explore and see so many bucket list animals on these 2 tours, sharks, turtles, dolphins, sloths, spider monkeys, and Tapir, to name just a few! It was a truly brilliant time way to visit a beautiful country. The friendliest people and beautiful beaches. Working abroad was fantastic at organising this, and our hosts were fabulous. Highly recommend this company and hope to do more in the future.

Working Abroad is a fantastic organisation that deals mainly with animal conservation abroad.
My 6 year old daughter and I were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to spend a week at Playa Reserva Tortuga in Costa Rica. They are passionate about the conservation and protection of the Olive Ridley turtles who come to the local beaches to lay their eggs.
During the week we were there we were lucky to have been involved in the release of 515 babies to the sea. Nature doesn’t perform on demand so we were so grateful that these babies hatched whilst we were there!! We felt quite maternal!
The reserve are involved in lots of other conservation including bats and caiman,monitoring, tagging, weighing and measuring. Also monkey and macaw behaviour and numbers etc.
The programme of activities was amazing, the staff passionate, knowledgeable and helpful and the set up was great especially for children and families. We would love to return and and are so grateful to have been able to take part in such a wonderful rewarding week.

We took on a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica during December . Unfortunately the only turtle we saw was on the PowerPoint presentation we received locally.
Weather didn’t help as it rained the whole week we were there but for me this was not much of a volunteer project but more of a tourist one.
Once onsite we were constantly asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable but as there was no turtle project to work on, we pretty much spent the whole week doing nothing. Maybe it was just bad luck combined with bad weather 🤷🏼‍♀️
I did raise a complaint with the agency and they did reach out to me and tried to investigate the issue and eventually we reached some common ground.

I stayed at BEES elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai for 5 nights and couldn’t recommend this place more. Vicky at Working Abroad was also brilliant at helping me organise the trip and was very responsive and helpful every time I had any questions.

I came as a solo traveller which I was slightly nervous about but I was instantly made to feel so at home here by everyone. Ty in particular was so lovely and introduced me to all of the animals and brought me local food and drinks to try!

Seeing the elephants in their natural habitat was surreal, and walking through the jungle was a really cool experience. The dogs and cats at the shelter are also so cute and affectionate, some of the dogs slept outside my room every night ❤️

I would really recommend coming here for at least a few days to get the most out of the experience. Just to name some of the things I did: planted trees, prepared food for the elephants, went to a local market, went to see the rice paddies and local waterfalls, as well as observe the elephants and walk through the jungle with them most days.

I will cherish my time here forever and hope more people will come and support a great cause!

I spent 2 weeks working with leatherback sea turtles with Ocean Spirits. This experience was truly amazing! My initial aim was to find a place where I could gain practical skills in sea turtle conservation. I recently graduated with a master's in Aquatic Conservation, and sea turtle conservation has always been a passion of mine. Ocean Spirits welcomed me to their team and took me seriously. I fell in love with the organisation and finally found a place that works very hard and shares the same core values. This was my first time working with leatherback turtles and my first time in the Caribbean. I also met so many inspiring people on the way! If you are someone who is looking to gain practical skills in sea turtle conservation, Ocean Spirits in Grenada may be the right place for you too! However, be aware that the workload can be tough and so it is very important you are passionate about sea turtles and/or looking to do a career in the field. I didn't regret a single second of my experience, expect perhaps wishing I stayed longer!

I've volunteered on several projects through WorkingAbroad (in Peru and South Africa) and I found each project to be highly impactful, educative, ethical and safe. The care and attention provided by WorkingAbroad is unique among the volunteer agencies I've used. None of the others provided such quick responses and care pre trip, during the trip and post trip. This org has my thanks and 5* recommendation!

It was a great experience, and I met some amazing people whilst I was away. I would totally recommend Working abroad as it is a great way to get out of your comfort zone , Just like I did and I’m sure you will love it !

I just returned from an amazing trip to Portugal researching Dolphins and Whales in the Algarve. I saw common and bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoises, blue sharks, minke whales and fin whales. I feel incredibly grateful to have witnessed all these amazing species and couldn't recommend the project highly enough to anyone interested.

I've been on two projects that were organized by Working Abroad, those being the Reforestation Internship in Iceland and Wildlife Rescue Internship in Canada. These are just two of a wide range of opportunities listed on the Working Abroad website. Both projects were incredible experiences made even better by the brilliant organization and communication from the Working Abroad team.

They are very good at answering any questions promptly and are very effective as a third party between you and the organization you're intending to work for. If you're looking for a life changing volunteering experience and you're passionate about conservation, look no further than the work offered by Working Abroad.

I have done a few volunteering trips through Working Abroad now, and definitely intend on doing more on the future. The communication and organisation is brilliant, and makes the whole process of booking the trip easier. The last volunteer programme I did was in Slovakia with the wolf conservation project, and I had an incredible experience. Not only did I learn a lot, I also met some amazing people and genuinely felt as though we were playing a key part and contributing to some really important research regarding wolf and lynx conservation. I would highly recommend booking a trip through Working Abroad.

I have volunteered with WorkingAbroad a few times now and intend to do so again in the future. The projects are incredibly well organised and the website provides plenty of detail for each individual project. These projects extend to every continent with an incredible variety including conservation, research, and sanctuaries. Communication with the company is incredibly efficient. Any time I have had a query they have responded to me within 24 hours. I would definitely recommend using this company.

I have volunteered 3 times with Working Abroad having great time in India, Nepal and Namibia. It was so rewarding to work & help disadvantage children or in animals sanctuary. Working abroad is a fantastic organisation which changed my style of travelling. I would never chose crowdy Spanish beach over living among locals in rural part of Asia or Africa , seeing the difference I am and organisation is making. Most of the fees covered accommodation, food, transfers and training. I am so pleased I managed to convince my whole Family and Friends to sign for 2022 projects. The choice of projects destination is amazing. I always felt safe and looked after from airport pickup till airport drop off. The organisation is very flexible and helping with each additional request or query. My goal is so encourage my children to anticipate and continue that way of discovering the World and their people.
