Amazing portrait, amazing experience
What an amazing portrait we received. The communication and responsiveness with WhatAPortrait were amazing. The product was absolutely beautiful and yielded tears all around when it was presented. I would highly, highly recommend this company for watercolor portraiting. I will definitely use them again and could not be more pleased with them as a partner.

Beware of Whataportrait!
I am surprised at the overwhelming number of very positive reviews from people about their Whataportrait experience. Mine was the exact opposite. In short, what I received was NOT an original oil painting drawn by a professional artist (as advertised). I received a digitally reproduced oil with some dabs of paint here and there - no brush strokes. Whataportrait is extremely inexpensive compared to truly commissioned art (probably in part because its "artists" are in China and Vietnam and because it's "paintings" are basically processed). At the end of the day, I guess I deserved what I got. After much back and forth I was offered a $60 reimbursement. Others should beware.

The painting I ordered turned out great. Phenomenal quality. Everything about the process and the customer service was fantastic. My order arrived promptly, took just over 2 weeks from the time I placed my order to when it arrived. I will be placing another order within the next year.

Placed an order and was told
Placed an order and was told it couldn't arrive by Christmas. I respectfully declined to move forward. They responded stating they had a spot open up with an artist who could finish the drawing in time to get it to me by Christmas, afterall. Although, they couldn't give a firm guarantee. Not only did it not arrive by Christmas, which would be one thing, but I have heard nothing from them since I paid them. No shipping confirmation, no response from them after I called their customer service line... nothing.
UPDATE: The company's response to my review is complete bs. There is no record of the tracking number they provided with UPS, and, even if they did actually ship a product today, they very clearly lied about a realistic time window to keep me from canceling my order. Bad business. Be mindful of the fact that most of the positive reviewers have only ever posted once, or maybe twice. What are the odds that an actual person was so thrilled with this product that they left the only review ever in their life for it. Seems suspect to me.

We received your confirmation to proceed with shipping on December 20, and we immediately processed the artwork for shipment. While we do our utmost to complete and ship orders promptly, delays in preview approvals or transit times—especially during peak seasons—are sometimes beyond our control.
Rest assured, we have worked closely with UPS to request expedited delivery of your artwork. While we made every effort to ensure it arrived by Christmas, the holiday overload caused some unavoidable delays, including a delay in receiving accurate tracking details from our shipping partner.
We are happy to confirm that your artwork has been shipped and is on its way. According to the tracking information, it is scheduled to be delivered on or before December 30.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and patience and value the trust you placed in us to create this special piece of art. Precise communication, lots of patience
I’m more than satisfied with the painting I ordered, it’s exactly what I imagined it. They suggested a bigger size of canvas than what I originally ordered for better details and to avoid cropping. But 24” x 20” was way too big for me, so I asked them to send me layouts for 4 different sizes with the price of each one. Lots of patience from them and I felt taken care of personally. I ended up going with 16”x12”, instead of my original order of 10x8”. It looks great! I would definitely recommend What A Portrait!

An important birthday…
My wife had an important birthday coming up, and an oil portrait of her was my way of showing my affection. A beautiful portrait was created, in record time, with a gold frame. When I presented it to her at her birthday party, it brought tears to her eyes. The quality of the portrait was such, that it could be a family heirloom, passed on to our daughters and grandchildren.

Family Tribute
This was a wonderful experience from the moment I placed my order until the painting was delivered! My daughter's dog had been struck by a car and killed on the night they returned home from visiting us. He was 15 years old and had been a faithful companion for all his life. I took a photo of him and their son when he was 4 or 5 years old and submitted it whataportrait and asked for a fine brush portrait. They delivered an absolutely gorgeous painting! I had them frame it and ship it directly to my daughter and she and her family are thrilled with it. She sent me a picture if it hanging on their livingroom wall. I highly recommend whataportrait; you will not be disappointed!

Glad I used Whataportrait
I had been looking for someone to paint for me in oil 4 logos of my favorite sports teams. I stumbled upon Whataportrait while searching the internet. I sent them the 4 logos I wanted done and they came back said they could do it with a very reasonable price. The whole process took about two weeks and to say I was pleased would be an understatement. I was truly impressed with the detail in the paintings since they were only 5x5. I would highly recommend if you're looking and can't find someone locally or just to give them a try, you won't go wrong.

Quality product
I was super pleased with the constant feedback and help I received from their customer service. Whenever I was confused or needed help with making a decision or choice I would have a response that same day or first thing the following day. There were a couple of things that I asked to have done that weren't standard procedure and it was handled with ease. The final framed painting was fantastic and absolutely met my expectations.

Excellent artwork & communication. Seller was very responsive every step of the process. When the delivery passed the deadline, the seller immediately contacted the shipping company who tracked it down. Seller even offered to redo the art project if shipping company could not locate it in time.
