No two vehicles are the same, condition plays an important role in a vehicle’s resale value, and like any reputable buyer, We Buy Any Car appraises cars based on their overall condition. We’re not worried about normal wear and tear, but big-ticket items that impact the mechanical, structural, and safety components of a vehicle. Unlike car dealers who take your vehicle around back and hold you in the showroom, we invite our customers to join us so they can see what we see. It’s all part of our commitment to transparency.

Hopefully you were invited to join us as we appraised your vehicle. The inspection report notes the 2012 Hyundai had multiple dashboard lights illuminated including the check engine light. Our Branch Manager identified engine noise and rust was detected on the body of the vehicle. These are major concerns, and our pricing algorithm had to take them into account.

I see our Branch Manager did consult with our internal pricing team, but this shouldn’t feel like a high-stakes negotiation. We have a team at corporate that our Branch Managers are invited to reach out to if they feel a second opinion is warranted. We tried to maximize what we could pay for the vehicle, and we’re thrilled we ultimately made you an offer you were happy to accept.

I have asked the Area Manager to review your appointment and reach out to you directly so we can tackle any concerns and restore your trust in our business. If you weren’t invited to join us during the inspection, or had far too much back and forth negotiating price, we want to know about that.

Thank you for reviewing your recent experience with one of our Pittsburgh Area Mobile Units. We are sorry to hear that we did not live up to our 5-star expectations, and would like the opportunity to make things right. Our local Area Manager has made multiple attempts to reach you with no luck.

Our online valuation tool is a great jumping-off point for selling your vehicle. It takes information about your vehicle and compares that with nationwide market data in order to give you a valuation on your car. We give customers the opportunity to be as specific as possible with the damage, in order to best provide an accurate valuation. But like any reputable car buyer, an in person inspection is needed before we can make a final offer for the vehicle.

During your initial online valuation on 6/7, only a small dent in the truck bed was declared. Our in person inspection, unfortunately, found some more serious issues listed here. First, we noticed the muffler was damaged and would need to be replaced. There were also various spots on the vehicle that would require repairs and repaints. Lastly, our inspection revealed structural damage on the vehicle. Structural damage is much more serious than your regular dings and dents. This type of damage can hurt the overall integrity of the vehicle, and can be cause for safety concerns.
