We used Smart Home Surveys for a building survey and Alex was an absolute dream to work with. Given this is our first time buying a property, we were naturally nervous but I’m glad to report the survey experience was fantastic. Alex’s thoroughness, professionalism and promptness are greatly appreciated. He was kind and patient to answer our many queries post the completion of the report. I’d also like to mention the company sent us a short description before sending us the full report - something that further helped calm our nerves. The turn around time was quick - around three days and the report covered everything in perfect detail. I highly recommend Smart Home Surveys,especially to first time buyers.

Could not recommend Smart Home Surveys enough! Booking the survey was very quick and the actual survey was carried out a couple of days later. Report provided was very detailed and Alex was always available to answer any follow-up questions, going above and beyond to provide me answers to my numerous questions. I will not hesitate to use Alex and the team again as it was such a seamless experience !

From my first enquiry to getting the survey done was very quick - they were quick to respond to my initial enquiry and were very transparent on pricing and what service I would benefit from (I had initially asked about a Level 3 survey, but they advised that it wasn't necessary for my circumstance and advised me to take a Level 2 instead). They have an online portal that is easy to use to make payments, submit documents, etc and help track the status of your report. The report was thorough and we were given a follow up call to discuss some of our concerns, and they were incredibly helpful in detailing and advising on each point, and you could tell from their responses and explanations that they had reviewed the property in great detail. I contacted the Smart Home Surveys for a snagging check for a new purchase. What I received is actually in the form of a level 2 check - very detailed, with lots of photos and explanations of not just what’s the issue currently, but what could become an issue in the future.

Surveyor Alex is really amazing and helpful. He meticulously checked the items and also explained very patiently to me on site, and walked me through the issues I should report to the developer. The 50 page report I received is of really high quality. This is not some other snagging reports which basically just listed some easy spotted issues without much context. With Alex and Smart Home Surveys, it really helps me understand the risks and to better communicate with the developer. I will surely reach out to them in the future for periodic surveys!

I have used smart home surveys twice. Both reports were detailed, helpful and captured the key issues. In both cases they recommended a level 2 rather than a level 3 since it was more appropriate for my needs (ie they didn’t try to rinse me for more money like some companies do!). I also had a short call each time to cover the key points and better understand the reports. In the first property I had surveyed SHS captured the critical issues with some of the build quality which led to further enquiries by my solicitor which uncovered further issues. They undoubtedly saved me a lot of money with their honest and unbiased assessment, and I have found a property I am much happier with as a result.

Excellent from start to finish. Fast lead time from booking to receiving the survey and regular updates. We were advised a level 2 survey would be fine for the property (rather than 3), reducing costs.

The quality of the report was excellent, and they answered all our follow up questions promptly and in an extremely helpful way. The inspection was carried out just a few days after booking it, and we got the report just a few days after.
And the 3D video is really nice to have while we wait for completion! Really helps with advanced planning.

My experience with the whole team was excellent - could not recommend Alex, Adam and the company highly enough. They were extremely responsive and fast to complete a survey I needed done quickly. Even though the survey was not particularly favourable for a property I'm purchasing, I can see they gave their expert opinion upon careful assessment of the unit as well as overall building. The follow-up call was equally informative and provided me with confidence going into my ongoing purchase process. I found Smart Home by researching online and reading similar reviews, and my expectations were exceeded.
Smart home surveys are reasonably priced compared to others I looked at in the market but their service and customer experience is top notch.
The property I'm purchasing is also having cladding issues, but they were not afraid of taking on the survey while several other surveyors were hesitant.
