I have changed 600€ and the lady gave me just 350 Pounds back.
This is more than a scam !!!

I think it's disgusting how a company can start charging a fee when it's been free for the last 3 yrs since Ive been working at Gatwick they should be ashamed

Like everyone else, very disappointing.
I email them (see below), and never got any response:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Yesterday (21st May 2025) while travelling back using Eurostar I went to your counter to exchange Euros to GBP.
My first impression was that you take 0% commission, which was very encouraging.

I had 600 Euros and the lady at the desk told me that the rate of the day was rather very good and that I should exchange more if I could.
Although I didn’t know the rate of the day, I was a bit surprised when she told me 1.44!
So I got £414.55
See receipt attached

Being doubtful, I then checked xe.com first and I was meant to get £506.59 back. See attached
I then compared to your website and should be £513.63, thus very close to xe.com

None can explain the gap of ~£100 which is represent 20% of the total.
This doesn’t sounds right and made me very upset.

I then tried to find an explanation online and found a lot of complaints from other customers.
Even more striking was the reported behaviour of your employees. See attached.

I would be most grateful if you could provide an explanation.
If any mistake from your side, please let me know and I will provide my bank details for a refund of £99.08

As you are a large company operating in the UK, I would expect a response from you within the next 48 hours.
Failing to do so, I will be pushing this further to get justice done,

If it were true, I wouldn't give it even one star. I tried to withdraw 95 pounds from this company's ATM at St Pancras International and the ATM didn't see anything, but the amount was deducted from my account.

I recovered my lost funds thanks to the help of Zent ri Coup s.

This company should be heavily fined for what they do in the airports.

Avoid this company at all costs when changing gbp to any foreign currency. You may loose up to 30% due to the very poor exchange rate they provide. This company should have their FX license revoked

Went to Change group at Stansted to exchange £100 into Turkish lira.
Received 4000 Lira.Didnt think nothing of it until I got to turkey and realised that I only got £66 pounds worth?
How do they let companies get away with this ?
Do not use this company..Use a reputable place before you go or even a ATM.

Today I exchanged 200 USD at the Change Group branch on Oxford Street and had a deeply unacceptable experience.

I was given only £97 for $200, which immediately raised concerns. The exchange rate applied was significantly below the market rate, combined with an excessive service fee of approximately 15%, plus an additional unexplained £3 deduction. None of this was clearly or transparently explained beforehand.
As soon as I realised what had happened — literally within seconds — I informed the staff that I did not agree with the transaction and asked for my money to be returned. My request was refused, despite the fact that I had not left the counter and the transaction had just taken place.This practice feels highly misleading and exploitative, especially towards customers who trust that exchange services operate fairly and transparently. The lack of clear disclosure and the refusal to issue an immediate refund are extremely concerning. I believe this type of conduct warrants further investigation, as it appears to be a deliberate bait-and-switch tactic rather than an honest exchange service.
I am submitting this complaint to ensure this issue is properly reviewed and to prevent other customers from being treated in the same way.

This is a criminal organisation posing as legitimate under the front of Gatwick airport. I unfortunately allowed myself to be conned by them but never, never again!!

The worst of all.

Someone was able to fraudulently use my credit card to purchase currency at the Oxford street exchange.
Clearly they do not carry out ID checks as stated on their website otherwise it wouldn’t have gone through.

I withdrew 100€ at the Change group cash machine at Luton airport as I was in a rush the screen said I wouldn't be charged for this transaction I didn't have my reading glasses on so miss read the figures on the screen I thought it said 114€ which is about correct once I checked my bank account I'd been charged £124 for £100 € complete rip off I'm surprised the airports allow this type of business to operate on there premises.

Absolute scam of a company. Huge hidden services fees, avoid at all cost.

I exchange me euro to pound in Leicester Square London. I ask in the counter if there any commission or hidden cost. They told me just follow the rate given. The counter guy ask me to check on the customer information. But it didn’t mention any cost. While he pass me the money and ticket I saw there service cost for 15%. I ask them to cancel or refund. He told me is not possible. Anything I only can complain to their email

They just basically a scammer company to scam tourist for one time business

I've actually written a 2000 word review in regard to my experience with this shambolic company.
However, due to the size of my effort, it's too large to copy/paste here, so; this is the brutally abridged version.
Bottom line, avoid at all costs!
N.B.
I will be posting the full review online.

1. Refused to honour a paid for charge to Buy-Back Guarantee, on 2 separate currencies purchased together online.
2. Overpaid me to the tune of JPY 100,000 (£505.96 GBP), which, was subsequently returned.
3. Then argued that their original three page receipt didn't include the necessary part to effect a buy-back when I attempted such on my return, even though a member of their own staff had personally written on one of the receipts; "Pls put buy back on both currencies pls if he come."
The following, are the last couple of paragraphs of my full review, in conclusion.

However, before I leave, I make the following comment which pretty much say’s it all about my experience with the Change Group, as experienced at St Pancras International Station.
Barring the unfortunate, unintended overpayment (mistakes are made in the real world!), everything else which has caused conflict between us, you the Service Provider, and me, the Online Customer, has been wholly avoidable. It just didn’t need to happen.
On that basis alone, it is clear that the Change Group as a provider of Exchange Currency Services is unfit for purpose, and should therefore be avoided at all costs, as it will most likely cost you, if you fail to avoid them!
Finally, I really think MSE need to prehaps carefully review how they present future suggestions as regards available options on products/services, which are directly derived at by searches on their website. I will certainly be taking a more cautious approach to any similar such searches I may make, in the future.

If I could give a "0" star I would. I asked the guy how much I would get for $200.00 US and he asked for my money, never told me what I would get and I should have gotten about 140- 150 British pound. he handed me 98.85 lb. I asked why so little he just pointed to a small sign and said it said rate is 1.67, which should have at least been about 119 lb. when I looked at receipt there was a service fee of 14.97% and handling fee of 3.00. I said I want to cancel the transaction he pointed to a sign that said no refunds. I argued that I had asked him what I would get before. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL RIP OFF.

Absolutely horrific, how do these people sleep at night? Straight off scamming people out of money.I wish I could warn people before they use it but unfortunately most people will only look up reviews after they've been scammed.

Wow got ripped off here when getting euros to go to Portugal runied my holiday as I was so annoyed all holiday due to this, can’t believe they get away with this?! Shame on you change group won’t be returning, stay away from this place! Doesn’t even deserve a star rating.
