Absolutely incredible support!
I was so worried about making a claim as we’ve had insurance for over 20 years and thankfully, we’ve never had to use it before. I spoke with a lady named Dawn and she immediately put my mind at rest and explained the steps that I’d need to take
first - the main thing was getting the leak traced and repaired - then we’d get the rest sorted out. Dawn kept in constant communication with me the whole way through and was extremely knowledgable about the whole process.
I needed some help when Dawn wasn’t there so a lady called Sheryl was just as helpful as Dawn and sorted it out for me straight away.
I would highly recommend UIA Insurance.
The payout was extremely quick and the customer service was second to none. I won’t be going anywhere else in the future.
At a time that mattered to me and my family, Dawn was there was for us and that means everything.
The current pandemic didn’t stop them sorting my claim, every step was done with the necessary precautions in place.

After comparing other insurance companies UIA was definitely the most affordable of all and the easiest to deal with.
My recent claim for a stolen backpack
My recent (Feb 2) claim with UIA for theft of backpack and contents (including phone, wallet, house-keys) was refreshingly straightforward. Big plus that there were no phone queues. The claims handler (ours was Dawn) was calm, kind and communicated clearly, particularly important as I have a moderate hearing loss. The claim process was straightforward and it was swiftly resolved. What more can you ask? Brilliant service.
New to UIA
New to UIA. So far very impressive: straightforward, clear, efficient, and, as a Mutual, free of the many codicils and disclaimers of the big City commercials.
Easy to use website / Above inflation price hikes
Easy to use website. The price keeps going up way above inflation and so will probable not renew next year.

Quick and easy!
Well it is early days yet. I chose UIA because it is a mutual and I was assured it has no dodgy investments like the commenrial insurers have. Getting a quote for house insurance online and paying the premium couldn't have been easier.
Watch out for your Premium Increases
When I took out my policy in 18/19 for buildings insurance (only) my premium was £353. Last year this rose to approx £700, this year it has risen to £1020. I haven't moved house! Be careful with the premiums as similar to many insurance companies they clearly don't value customer loyalty.

Quick and helpful response in emergency.
The company were quick to respond to a flood and ceiling falling down on New Years Eve. We found the staff extremely helpful and they always responded within 48hrs to any phone call or e mail which took a lot of the stress and worry out of a very difficult situation. Very happy with the service we received.

Completed my home insurance on line, went very smoothly
Made a claim and was faced with gross…
Made a claim and was faced with gross incompetence. UIA would not accept any liability and passed the claim to other companies to claim under home emergency. Still refused to support me as a customer or follow up on my behalf, after 12 months trying to get a resolution I had to pay for the repairs myself.

House insurance claim
I had call to make a claim on my insurance for a broken shower screen. Despite not having had a policy that covered accidental damage they agreed to process my claim as there was a degree of uncertainty about the actual cause of the damage. I found that Dawn, the claims handler, was very understanding and empathetic. It is the first claim I have had to make on the policy, despite having had the policy for a number of years, and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
