My experience with Uhomes was nothing short of a nightmare wrapped in incompetence, dishonesty, and emotional manipulation. I moved to Dublin a year ago and lived peacefully with a family. After settling in and getting familiar with the city, I decided to move into student accommodation—quiet, private, and close to my college. Big mistake choosing Uhomes. They assigned me an agent (I didn’t choose him) named Siddhant, conveniently of the same nationality as me. I naïvely thought, “Great, someone who’ll understand my needs.” Instead, he pushed overpriced rooms far from my college, despite cheaper and closer options being available on their own app. When I refused his “suggestions,” I still have to go through him because—surprise—he had full control over the booking. So I did his job for him: searched the Uhomes app myself, checked availability, sent him the listings, and told him exactly what to book. He claimed he submitted my application and charged me €100 as a ‘service fee’, promising a refund if the booking didn’t go through. After that? Complete silence.
No replies. No calls answered. No updates. For weeks.
An agent “working for students in Ireland” who doesn’t even have an Irish number and simply ghosts people. Brilliant system. When he finally resurfaced, he casually asked if the property contacted me. They hadn’t. He said they would “by end of day.” No one ever did. When I contacted the property myself, guess what? There was NO booking at all. Zero. Nothing. A complete lie. To make it worse, I discovered the rent was €250 per week PLUS €56 per week for utilities—a detail this wonderful agent never once mentioned. Who casually forgets a €56/week utility fee? When I escalated this to Uhomes, I was thrown into a group chat with multiple agents who barely understood English and spammed rooms far above my budget. When I said I couldn’t afford them, one agent rudely snapped: “If you want a place in a week, choose one of these or you get nothing.”
Agent claimed booking was done — it wasn’t, Went unresponsive for 3 weeks, Created a fake sense of urgency, Hid costs, Tried to pressure me into panic decisions. When I demanded my €100 back (no booking = no service), I was told the agent had “left the job yesterday.” Magically, after I posted public reviews exposing everything—with names and numbers—the same agent reappeared saying he was “on leave” and everyone mistakenly thought he quit. Sure. Very believable.
Only after I threatened legal action did he suddenly become polite and process my refund—while repeatedly begging me to remove my reviews. I didn’t. I waited till the money hit my account. Then I blocked him.
This happened in October 2025. Even though I got my money back, the mental stress, panic, and deliberate manipulation were very real. This company thrives on putting immigrant students in emergency situations and squeezing money out of fear. I managed because I already knew Dublin—new students won’t.
Worst part? I referred a training mate to Uhomes earlier. He ended up losing money too and had to return to India because he became homeless after being played the same way.
Uhomes is not a housing service—it’s a well-dressed scam targeting vulnerable immigrant students. The agent Siddhant (from India) is highly unreliable and should not be trusted.
Don’t be fooled! Learn from this! Stay far away!
