Bruce at ISMI Design is the absolute best guy to work with!

I have run Turbocad Version 9.2 for over 20 years and due to having to upgrade plotters, I in turn had to upgrade my computer and version of Turbocad. Bruce Phinney, Direct Sales Supervisor, with IMSI Design was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in helping me find the best upgrade and get my architectural design office back up and running. I highly recommend Turbocad for your design software and reaching out to Bruce if you need assistance. He's the best!

Upgrade PlatinumPro 2025 to Platinum Pro 2026

My support engineer, Syed was a lifesaver. I was impressed by his knowledge of my problem and how to fix it. Better yet , he answered all my emails and never left me hanging. Syed was impressive and I Hope that his bosses recognize his efforts !

Support

Recently I needed to re install my version of TurboCAD 2021 Professional on to a spare PC due to an issue with my PC. I was workig on a project and needed TurboCAD urgently to complet he project for my customer.

Under the license agreement I am allowed to have the software installed on two devices.
After installing I was not able to activate the product using the product key provided.

I contacted customer support. Despite the Website clearly stating that 2021 was supported for free, I was told that 2021 was almost 5 years old and no longer supported.

I was then told nothing could be done and I needed to upgrade to version 2025 at signifigant cost.

I refused to upgrade as 2021 is adequate for my needs and I did not need to expense of upgrading to 2025.

I was then told that It could be fixed if I purchased a Maintenance and Support Plan at a cost of $249.

It is reasonable to expect that I should be able to reinstall software that I have purchased and own outright on my machine without the need to upgrade or purchase addtional licenses or packages.

During my dealings with Syed from support and Todd from sales it would appear that they were both more interested in extorting additional Licenses of Maintenance contracts rather than supporting their customer who has been using the product for over 25 years. The Support staff would rather lie about what could be done rather than attempt to resolve my issue.

the issue remains unresolved and I cannot currently access my TurboCAD files, despite being the owner of a valid Version of TurboCAD Professional with a purhcase price of over $1000AUD.

I agree with Aaron.
We were customers for 16 years at least. We have upgraded many times. But this time we discovered that if you load your perpetual package onto a new computer because the old computer died, you cannot activate the package without a support service license. So we decided to upgrade again as that gives us two years support.

Unfortunately, we still did not receive the activation code. After two days we noted online we were returning the package for refund to get something else as time was of the essence. We purchased AutoCAD and are thrilled with it. Almost the same price, but with better functionality.

We got the same run around from IMSI as Aaron did, and two months down the line we still have no refund from IMSI. First, like with Aaron they could not find a ticket, nor could they not find the online form.

They then emailed us a Letter of Destruction which we filled out, signed and returned within 24 hours. No response. When we followed up: they had never received it. So we resent it several times with varying results, from being ignored, to slow response, to have not received attachment, to got the attachment and tried to refund but your bank prevented it.

The last one is a cracker as we spent ages on the phone with our banker trying to find out what the open ticket at the bank was that was preventing a refund. There was no open query on our account. And the bank assured us that an open query will never prevent a refund if the supplier tries to refund.

Now we are almost two full months down the line and we are simply getting ignored. No matter how good the product is, if the support is this bad, it is very risky to purchase. And I am apparently not the only one. Sorry to say, but I agree with Aaron.

To clarify one key point: for online purchases, license keys are delivered via instant download upon order completion, and are also typically sent via email shortly after. Upon checking the order was delivered within a few minutes from the purchase.

We also take pride in providing timely and responsive customer support, so it’s concerning to hear about the delays and communication issues you described. That’s not representative of our standard process.

A generally happy long-time user

I have used TC for many years as a hobbiest to draw up ship plans. The GUI is intuitive and the app generally easy to use. Despite the high cost, the app itself is reasonable value for money, but the annual subscription is much too expensive. App (not user) support has been great on every occasion I have found the need, but I find IMSI's reliance on a user community for user support/help is a bit of a cop-out. That said, I have usually had satisfactory results/solutions to the problems I raise within the user community.

Support Delays

Working with Syed for a couple weeks of correspondence finally got some of my questions and issues resolved.

I had been experiencing significant difficulties while navigating the program without any verbal support, which has been extremely frustrating. Syed corrected the issue logging in to the turbofloorplan forum and assisted with the walk through feature.

I searched online for YouTube videos to find program assistance, but have been unsuccessful.

As an interior design business owner, the drawn out communication with the company has delayed my work, whereas a quick 10 minute telephone call could have been better use of both of our time.

Turbocad help is still nonexistent

Turbocad help is still nonexistent. Someone emailed me and offered suggestions but I fear it was AI generated. No solutions as of yet. Despite a dozen attempts to speak to a person, not a single conversation has happened. So far this $600 subscription is absolutely useless to me. The program still creates corrupt files. Next step is to get my money back and switch programs as I do not have access to my previous TC 24 since the “upgrade”. Again, I’ve been using TC for close to 20 years….

TurboCad for Mac incompatibility with TurboCad for Windows

Having been a TurboCad user for 20 or so years, when switching my desktop from Windows to Mac I purchased the Mac version to continue working both on existing projects and also to continue working within a framework that I was familiar with, or so I thought.

On installing the program I found that the only similarity between the Windows and Mac versions was the name! Also I was unable to open any of my existing Turbocad projects with the Mac software.

When I reported this to customer services I was told that they were not compatible and the only way to open a windows file with mac was to export the file to a different format (.DWG of .DXF) and then import into the mac version. In doing so I lose or alter many properties of the original file. I still use Turbocad on my laptop and need seamless integration between the two versions.

I have asked Turbocad to refund the Mac purchase price as I feel that it is miss-leading to market what is essentially two different products under the same name.

Since asking fro the refund, customer services have not responded and appear to be ghosting me. I will now have no choice but to raise a dispute with my credit card company.

Zero Support, Non responsive.

I have been using Turbocad for decades. I upgraded to Platinum 2025 and have had issues. I got it working well enough to produce some work and thought I was OK. Then I tried to do some quality rendering and it got stuck and wont let me zoom and it's cocked on the Z axis.

I have tried rebooting the program and then the computer, no better.

I have emailed support and left multiple messages on the sale number without response. A sales person did respond to me, but his comments were unhelpful and I have over a week now waiting for a return email from support.

They used to have telephone support and I could get things figured out. But now they only do email support and the sales people will no longer take my calls, likely because all I do is complain that the support team is non responsive on email.

I have critical work that needs to be completed that is not getting done now and Turbocad has been informed via email but still no response. They dont seem to care about the quality of their product or whether it is working correctly.

I'm left with really no option than to move to a different program and start over. Awful service.

The interface of TurboCAD for Mac is not user-friendly

The interface of TurboCAD for Mac is unlike most other CAD programmes. The instructions do not provide the basics before they become complicated. The 'Trim' tool seems to do anything but trim the objects that you need to trim. A task that is easy in Vectorworks or SketchUp seems all but impossible in TurboCAD. I have to draw plans by hand as the instructions are not clear.

Tried to renew

Tried to renew. They have always allowed me to use it on two computers because of a home/ shop environment. Now they want another license for the shop computer. I am a one man business so its a matter of principal. They said it was due to legal issues but we all know its due to more money in our pockets. I don't need you Turbo Cad.

Bad product upgrade experience.

In the past I needed help with licensing and I got it, so, no complaints there. However, I was using TC2015 successfully, and I was lured into upgrading to 2024 version. I thought, as advertised, that many bugs would be eliminated, and that the performance would be much improved. Instead I find myself riddled with problems, as the software behaves erratically, and I struggle to find a solution, and have spent far too much time not being able to continue working on my design, What works normally, suddenly stops working. The latest is that the tool popups are not showing, and that when I select an objest, like a rectangle, it is not selected, but only one side of the rectangle is selected as a line. I am really tired, and cannot concentrate on my design, and running very late to finish as planned.
