AVOID – my experience mirrors numerous other reviews

I wish I had found these Trustpilot reviews before ordering. I originally searched for “Nubo”, whereas the company appears here as “Try Nubo”, so I didn’t see them until after my own experience.

Having now read the other reviews, I am shocked by how many describe an experience extremely similar to mine: poor-quality pillows, difficulties obtaining refunds and customers being left out of pocket. Some reviewers have described the company as a scam. Based on what happened to me, I can certainly understand why they feel that way.

The pillows I received were, in my opinion, extremely poor quality and nothing like the impression created by the advertising.

When I complained, I was told in writing that I would receive a full refund and that I did NOT need to return the pillows. I followed those instructions.

I subsequently opened a PayPal dispute. Incredibly, my claim was eventually rejected because I had not returned the pillows — despite my having emails from the seller specifically telling me not to return them. I supplied those emails to PayPal during my appeal, but the decision still went against me.

The seller then changed their position and offered me an 80% refund instead of the full refund they had already promised.

I have spent an extraordinary amount of time chasing this, dealing with PayPal and providing evidence. I eventually reported the matter to Action Fraud; my report has been recorded, although I have been told that no further action will currently be taken.

What concerns me most now is seeing so many other customers reporting remarkably similar experiences.

I would not order from this company again and I would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing reads the other Trustpilot reviews first.

A scam company

Do not buy!!!! I have been waiting for tge pillow to arrive for weeks and told them I am moving house so need it here asap as won't be there by the end of the month to receive it...they kept responding with generic emails saying they can't refund as its already been sent and they won't refund me even though I won't be at my old address as moved to a different country now. Awful customer service. Stay away!!!

The product is shipped from China, annoyingly the website makes it out to be as a UK company so please don't fall for this like I did. I have emailed requesting a return label so I can send it right back, £39 for a pillow from China is overpriced, and credibility hugely lost.

I bought these pillows based on the way Nubo presents them as premium, high-quality products. Unfortunately, what arrived was completely different from what was advertised.

The pillows look and feel incredibly cheap — more like something you would find on Temu than a premium product. The material is thin, plasticky and polyester fibres were already coming out. Honestly, I wouldn’t even call them proper pillows. For the price, the quality is absolutely unacceptable and nowhere near what the pictures and advertising suggest.

They are massively overpriced for what you actually receive. I have bought inexpensive pillows elsewhere that feel substantially better quality. These went straight into the bin because I couldn’t imagine using them.

The shipping also took an extremely long time. When I contacted customer service, the responses were lengthy but essentially said nothing useful — lots of polite, sugar-coated wording without actually addressing the problem or offering a meaningful solution.

Overall, this was a complete waste of money. The product, quality and customer service fell far short of what I expected from a company advertising itself as premium. I would not recommend these pillows and certainly would not buy from Nubo again.

Please dont buy from here. These are not UK made, took 5.5 weeks to be delivered from China.
Brought 3 pillows. The website says it takes 6-12 working days to deliver.
After 14 days i emailed to cancel my order and get a refund as i was moving house a few days later and the pillows wouldn't arrive in time and were over their delivery window as advertised on their website- no response. I messaged via their website form a week or so later- no response.
I've noticed today, that they have been delivered to my old house today, 3 weeks after I first requested a refund and I moved house.
I have had to go to my bank and get a refund via them by disputing the purchase and showing my evidence of attempts to get a refund!

Very poor service. Seems like it’s a scam company. I didn’t receive the pillows until over a month after my order. When it did come, it was a cheap pillow straight from. factory in China! It looks nothing like the advertising and is certainly not from the UK! I have requested a refund and am currently waiting but seem to be ignored. Please avoid!!

Ignore ignore ignore - complete scam. You will not receive anything due to continued delays at customs in China…. Odd for a UK made product! Don’t waste your time or money!

I wish I had checked these reviews! Item ordered 25 August, been following tracking and shocked to see it was being sent from China, when advertising made it sound like a UK based company. Item has not arrived and hasn’t left China. I emailed to chase, was offered money off next purchase and that item would be here within 7-10days. It hasn’t arrived. I have emailed requesting a refund but suspect I need to reclaim via my bank. This doesn’t appear to be a real company.

As everyone else's experience: ordered in mid-August and still no sign of anything. Upon closer inspection, the website is very well set up to look like a legitimate company, but it isn't. AI images, generic backstory. There are other [shockingly!] similar products on the market from other companies that are clearly tailored to other locales. No reply from the company; have raised a dispute through my bank.

Much like everyone else’s experience, I too am still waiting for 2 pillows that will no doubt never arrive and am now in the process of raising a dispute with my bank. The tracking link provided doesn’t work and I have also had the same email about unexpected delivery delays. Absolute scam and should be avoided at all costs!

Not even a 1* review is worthy. Absolute scam. Ordered the pillow and cover £50 in August, middle of September still not arrived and said expected to be here within 10 days and she is personally chasing it herself every day.. “Sophie” won’t reply to my requests of a refund and assured me I hadn’t been scammed. But 30 days wait for a pillow? (Which still hasn’t come & online their delivery time is 6-12 days) It’s such a shame as they looked so good 😭

I bought a pillow on 13th of August, is 4th September and haven't received it, Sophie from "customer service" answer she didn't know where it was and to contact if nothing appear in a few days, wrote again. Is very bad they don't have a phone number to contact, To be honest it feels very scam at the moment. I'm on the process to try to get my money back through PayPal. Lesson, check contact numbers, if nothing don't trust. Don't buy from this company

Another victim of this company which I saw on a sponsored ad from Facebook. Weeks passed with no communication, my Shop app showed there was no movement in terms of delivery or tracking. When I contacted the company it took them days to reply and they said there was a hold up which was resolved and my pillow was on its way. At this point it was way past the advertised 4-8 days UK delivery. I asked for a refund and for them to recall said supposed delivery and I was ignored. Still no update on the Shop app except it now showed it was in transit from China. Pillow arrived much later however is nothing like advertised- doesn’t even have a label saying Nubo, nor is it labelled stating any of the materials. It’s a generic, cheap, dropshipped pillow. Contacted customer services again, and have been constantly brushed off, with days going between each reply. At this point they are offering me an 80% refund as a “good will gesture” which still puts me substantially out of pocket for a pillow that is nothing like advertised and well outside of the delivery time specified. I’ve told them 7 times now to process my full refund and am getting nothing but delay and stalling tactics continuing to offer a partial refund only (hard to believe they will even do this given the constant lies from them) so will be contacting my bank’s fraud department now.

Appalling service—ignored me until my bank forced a refundI ordered a cushion on 7th August, expecting delivery within the 4–8 working days promised on their website. By 17th August, nothing had arrived and I had received zero updates. I reached out to customer service for help, but they completely ignored my message.Because of their total silence and failure to deliver, I had to contact my bank to launch a payment dispute to get my money back.Only on 24th August—well over two weeks after my order—did they finally reply. Instead of taking accountability for ignoring me and breaching their own delivery terms, the email was dismissive and rude, brushing off their massive delay and broken tracking system as mere "confusion".Shocking customer care and completely unprofessional. Avoid this company.
