I was given a $50 card. The card does not work anywhere. I called customer service and they stated there was a "error" and the card needed to be reactivated. It has been months and there has been no resolution.
Money is lost
Money is lost. Had 450$ on my prepaid card and transaction are always denied. Insuffisant funds for an purchase of 25$ and I have a balance of 450$. each time I called or write they always told me that they are escalading my problem and someone will call me back. It's been since NOVEMBER 2024 and still no news and the website is not working anymore. TruUniverse probably stole our money. WHERE IS OUR MONEY???

The company's phone number is now "temporarily out of service." Their website isn't working properly either. It looks like the business is going out of business and the money on my prepaid debit card is lost.

Got this from a travel seminar for time sharing in VA Beach and the card is not valid. It is supposed to have $50 on it. I can’t use it online or in store. I tried several times. Now I give up. FAKE COMPANY!!!! And the company that conducted the seminar is a scam.
Bonbon / TruCash – Scam-Like Experience, Avoid at All Costs
I’ve been dealing with Bonbon and TruCash for over two months, and honestly, it’s been nothing short of a nightmare. This is supposed to be an incentive card — a reward I worked hard to earn — and yet I still can’t access my money.
Here’s what’s happened:
I was told my first card was activated and good to go — except it wasn’t. It didn’t work at all.
Then I was told it was flagged for fraud and a new one would be sent.
I got the replacement card — still not working.
When I tried changing the PIN online, it said I didn’t have enough money in the account — even though there’s close to $200 on it.
I sent them screenshots, emailed support — the only response I got was a vague “we’re working on it” with no timeline or explanation.
What makes this worse is that I’m not alone. There are dozens of similar complaints online. Just read some of these:
“Card never worked. Replacement also didn’t work. Customer service is a joke.”
“Waited months for a working card. Lied to over and over. This company needs to be investigated.”
I’m starting to believe TruCash is low on actual funds and only lets a certain number of cards process at any given time. That’s not just bad service — it’s borderline fraud.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating. No real support, no accountability, no access to my money. If you're with a company offering Bonbon/TruCash as an incentive — don’t bother. And if you’re a business thinking of using them for customer rewards, please think twice.
I’ll be reaching out to Transat directly and urging them to drop Bonbon as a partner. This is completely unacceptable. Feels like a scam.

Scam Company – Avoid at All Costs
I received an Oxford gift card and tried to use it, but it didn’t work. I called the company, and they told me the card needed to be activated. I asked them to activate it, and they said they would call me back once it was done due to a “system issue.”
Since then, I’ve heard nothing. Their phone number is now out of service, and they are not responding to emails either. This feels like a total scam. Stay away from this company.

I've got over 800.00 loaded on trucash. It has been "down" since January 2025. Called in at least a dozen times to find out what's wrong and why I cant use my card. Told it is a processor issue. Now the toll free number is disabled for the company for over a week now. Looking like a class action suit will be coming!!

I did a timeshare in Orlando in October 2024 and had issues with the card not being loaded and I had to leave USA to go back home to Uk, I spoke to management and they loaded the card eventually but said I can only use the card in USA. Now in May 2025 I’m in Vegas and I see the credit but guess what card keeps declining and cannnot use it and the phone number does not work- if you are offered this card DONT ACCEPT IT — ITS A SCAM CARD
How is TruCash Still in Business
LA Metro has a program called LA Metro Mobility Wallet Program and guess who they have decided to go through? TruCash. My dearest friend is disabled and she was so excited when she was chosen in 2024 to participate in the Mobility Wallet Program. Here we are in May 2025, and the card doesn't work because of TruCash problems. LA Metro said they are working with TruCash to resolve the issue and my question is simple...did anyone in charge at LA Metro do a deep dive on TruCash? Obviously not or they would know that the issues they're having with TruCash is what they use on everyone dealing with them. How TruCash is still in business is beyond me. In the meantime, my friend and others who thought they would have this Mobility Wallet help, are upset and most of them have given up hope that they will ever get what is owed to them.

THE WORSE COMPANY EVER! Got this card from a travel package that I was already lied to about and now I can't even use the card. I can't activate the card on the terrible app they give to download or the website, it just keeps giving me an error. I spoke to a guy named Bazel and he told me the system was down, he couldn't activate the card and I would be called back the following week but that never happened. I've been calling and just sitting waiting for someone to answer or told to leave a voicemail. This makes no sense.
Card Deactivated
Right now I have a TruCash Visa card with a balance that TruCash "deactivated." They keep telling me they cannot reactivate my card because they are having problems with their "processor." I asked them to issue me a new card then and cancel this one, but they said they can't do that until it expires. This is an unreliable company. They are refusing to give me access to the money on my account.

I was given a TRUCASH gift card from a third party for taking my time and opinion. This was in Sept 2024. Today 4/15/25 I have called the 800 number so many times the ladies know me by name. They keep saying the issue is their issue, and they need ITT to reactivate my card- 5 months and at least 15 phone calls- still no help- I believe it is a fraud and the ITT dept has something to do with the discount vacation club that issued me the card. - What other excuse could there be?

It’s a horrible card. First with activation issue, then every time when company deposit small cash, you have to call them for not be able to use the cash. You will have trouble if you use it for online purchase. And they charge monthly fee, really? Fee for this creepy service?
Useless card
I have had this card for years and have had the same issue. The card is locked and you have to call ask to have the card unlocked. Now, since January, they are having ' technical issues' and cannot unlock the card. Waiting on hold for hours and cannot get to a customer service rep. They are experiencing ' higher than normal call volume'. No wonder since they cards DONT WORK. Trucash seems to be able to take a monthly maintenance fee from it though. I have quite a lot of money sitting on the card and still need to pay income tax on the funds. Its not fair that we cannot use this card. This needs to be retified IMMEDIATLY. Legal action will need to follow for theft. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Appears to be a scam - suspending the cards and delaying the fix until the card expires.

Received a card with a refund of $50 from a vacation package, my money! Card said it was already activated, when I called customer service she said she would call me back, never called me back I called back and she said her manager had to reset my card! Still nothing! This is a complete SCAM and I will definitely be reporting them. Their card is a scam and their customer service is terrible!
SCAM- STAY AWAY
Absolutely terrible scam. I got a card as part of a vacation promotion. My initial card somehow wasn't active, so they sent me a new card. Then somehow my balance wasn't transferred to the new card: red flag #1. Apparently that has to go through someone else, they don't have control: red flag #2. Due to being close to expiration, I requested they get me a new card, which had to be requested through someone else again: red flag #3. I called back after 10 days and apparently my new card request was approved, BUT I have to wait because the cards at the warehouse were damaged. Seriously?! Oh, RED FLAG #4. What a joke.
I'll admit that the people I've talked to have been nice and willing to "help", but they are clearly educated on how to get you to think they are doing something to keep you happy enough or until you go away. I suspect my money is gone at this point, or I'll get it back with minimal funds due to apparent fees for new card requests, which were none of my fault. They have zero control over what they are doing and are some kind of in between.
