Former employee with serious concerns about trade-scanner/Shinobi strategies
I am writing this based on my personal experience working for Shinobi Strategies in Israel. During my employment I was instructed to present the service to potential customers under the Trade-scanner name
I started this job genuinely believing I was helping people access a legitimate financial service. The longer I worked there and the more I learned about how the operation functioned, the more uncomfortable I became with what I was being asked to do and how the service was being presented to prospective customers.
There were also references to Cyprus when describing the business. I cannot independently verify the complete corporate relationship between Shinobi Strategies and Trade Scanner or exactly what operations exist in Cyprus, so I will not speculate about that. What I can say is that the operation I personally worked in was in Israel while customers were dealing with the Trade Scanner name.
Regulation was one of my biggest concerns. As part of the job, I was expected to use language telling prospective customers that the service followed regulatory requirements or regulatory guidelines including ASIC & FCA. I became increasingly uncomfortable with this because I felt that wording could easily leave someone with the impression that the service itself was licensed or regulated.
Following regulatory guidelines is not the same thing as actually being licensed or regulated.
This is particularly important because ASIC’s MoneySmart Investor Alert List currently identifies Trade Scanner, trade-scanner.io, as “Unlicensed,” dated 26 August 2026.
My role was essentially to call prospective customers and encourage them to make an initial deposit connected to a trading account. Once someone deposited, they could then be passed to an account manager or retention team.
The calling operation was extremely aggressive. I was regularly making around 300 calls per day. Many of the leads I received were months old, and some appeared to be one or even two years old.
More troubling to me was what happened when people clearly said they were not interested. As a salesperson, I had no ability to simply remove a lead from the calling rotation because they had declined. I repeatedly saw people who had already said no, hung up, become angry or asked not to be contacted continue to appear in the autodialer.
Sometimes the same person would come back into my queue hours or days later. I also saw leads that had apparently been marked as not interested long before I ever spoke to them still being called months or even years later. In my experience, someone saying they were not interested did not reliably stop the calls.
Some of the people I spoke with were understandably furious because they told me they had already been contacted repeatedly. As the person actually making these calls, I found that increasingly uncomfortable because I often had no meaningful control over whether those people would continue being contacted.
The commission structure was another major concern for me. The role was presented as offering substantial earning potential through commissions. For customers I personally onboarded my commission was 1% of the additional investments those customers made afterwards. After six months in the role, despite making thousands of calls, I had earned less than 30 dollars in commission, separate from my base salary.
One of the hardest parts for me is that I genuinely entered this job believing I was helping people. Over time, I felt increasingly misled about what I had joined and uncomfortable with the gap between how the operation was presented to me and what I actually experienced working inside it.
If you are considering depositing money through Trade Scanner, I strongly suggest doing your own independent due diligence first.
Check the ASIC/MoneySmart warning yourself. Ask exactly which legal company you are dealing with. Ask where that company is actually registered and operating. Ask whether it is genuinely licensed or regulated, rather than simply being told that it “follows regulations.” Ask who receives your deposit and what happens to your money after you send it.
I am deliberately limiting this review to what I personally experienced and information that can be independently checked.
Based on what I saw while working there, I personally would not be comfortable depositing my own money through this service.
