I believe the ability to have the variety of books is stunning! They really surprised me with having four books on editorial cartoonist Mr. Vaughn Shoemaker.
The most challenging part is they can provide books faster than I can read them. Thank You David Jones

The worst part was with DHL delivery. They refused to deliver to my address on the package. They had to drop the package in my old mail box that is very difficult for me to get to (because I am restricted to a wheel chair)

I have ordered from Thriftbooks a few times in the past, and I usually have the same experience. I believe the point of a thrifting website is to have decent books at decent prices. With this website, it's more likely to get a heavily used book for the price of over half the original price. It feels like a gamble when ordering on this website, especially with hardcovers. I have received many copies under the category "Good" or "Very Good" condition that were without dust jackets, severely water damaged, or were straight up bent (as a hardcover???). I don't have issues with shipping or notifications usually, but at this point, it would be better to spend your money on something that is in readable condition. I collect books and like to keep them on my shelves. I feel like I can say no one wants books without dust jackets or books that are so water damaged to the point the pages are brown and dancing like the waves. Nobody should be paying $7+ dollars for books like this (Excluding shipping!) Quality needs to be better, or at least provide pictures of the conditions you'll be sending your paying customers.

Thriftbooks has seriously gone downhill. I no longer get an order confirmation when I place an order, and no updates on when/if my books are going to ship. And, I found out that the books are extremely marked up. I was sent a book with the goodwill price still on it - I was charged an 800% markup. After I (hopefully) get the last order I placed, I will never use them again.

Bought over 12 books in an order on thrift books. Items all were listed as great condition. Almost all of them arrived and were extremely used, written in, ripped and smashed. In awful condition. Thrift books won't accept returns for anything under 20$. So it was a big waste. Just buy new.

I sent you a review of receiving 3 Kurt Vonnegut books, two of them with the wrong covers. I also still need to receive Blue Beard and 7 Story Mountain. You replied to me and asked me to click on the link you provided, but it does not work! When I tried to email reply to your email, it was undeliverable by Microsoft. They have some pretty good deals, but $8.00 shipping and then taking 2 weeks to get from MD to ohio. Pony express would be faster. They just need to get faster shipping. Two weeks to go 400 miles is a little slow

I've ordered alot of dvd's from Thriftbooks and EVERY single time, the delivery is dumped at the front door instead being placed in the mailbox.
Same thing today, except the dvd blew off the steps and onto the grass below.
I'm 65 yrs old, we have snow and high winds here but I had to go pick it up and the dvd was loose inside the plastic case.
I am DONE ordering from them bec I've told them about this issue more than once.
If you pay for delivery, then you should GET delivery.

Any and every book I can think of is on Thriftbooks. The prices are wonderful! Because the prices are not expensive I'm able to get books for my grandchildren. It's a win, win situation.

I ordered chainsaw carving a bear for $20.88, I received skinnytaste air fryer dinners! I contacted thrift books by email because they will not answer the phone. They emailed me and said I need to return the book before I received the correct book! That's ridiculous way to run a business. I'll never do business with this company again.

Their website doesn't allow you to see the INSIDE of the books like amazon and others do!!! I was looking for GRAPHIC novels for a young child (to encourage reading) and had put GRAPHIC novel in their search engine so thought all the books that showed up in my search were graphic. I went ahead and ordered them and it took forever and still waiting for one of them for OVER A WEEK. Most of the books were NOT graphic novels and tried to return for a refund and they are NOT ELIGIBLE! I contacted customer service and they were NO HELP AT ALL in this matter and basically OUT MY MONEY. HORRIBLE COMPANY, POLICIES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will NOT be buying from them again!!!

The prices are even better than Amazon and the service is great. You can track your packages from their website and they arrive when they should in good condition. I do not understand negative reviews about this company.

I have been ordering from Thrift Books for years and can detail the decline in the service. My first couple orders, around 2022 were great. The books came as described and condition was generally good for “Good” and exceeded that for “Very Good.” Last order was over a year ago because of how poorly it went. I guess my memory lapsed because I ordered from them again and seriously regret it.

In my last few orders from them the books described as “Very Good” come tattered, stained with some mystery fluid (seriously disgusting) and don’t match the publication listed in the description. They have also mixed up my orders, sending books completely unrelated to the book I order. I reached out to them with my concerns and they made no promise to change their procedures, barely apologized for my experience.

I have purchased over 50 books from Thrift Books. Most of their prices are quite reasonable. The depth and breadth of topics is daunting in its completeness. I have a very specific set of reading interests: military history since ww 1 and history of specific military institutions, history of American military medical services (I am a part of this history, Retired US Army Social Work Officer), the writings of Bill Hartmann and Paul Krugman, the history of southeast Asian military conflict since 1843 through the end of the Vietnam War, Guitars and electric basses, PBY-5 Catalinas, Matchbox, Hot Wheels and military model toys, to name a few. Thrift Books has been a 5 here. Quality is a 4 based on how much a book meets their published standards, ease of ordering is a 5, shipping cost is a 5, the presence of free book rewards is 5 BUT Customer service is at best a 3 because though they have been stand up replacing poor condition books sold to accomplish this replacement is ungainly, clumsy, and overall unduely difficult. I have received books in meh condition but based on the purchase cost and excellent selection I have let it go because I look at a used book as a used book and am quite flexible. I had great difficulty with replacing 2 different books that were delivered stinking trashed, missing chapters or marked up with insulting comments toward the topic and the author, in fact once their Customer Service denied that I was a customer or that I bought the book to the point that I had to get Trust Pilot involved to get satisfaction. I am not picky, my elementary and secondary education were in public schools where we received books that were in circulation for up to a decade and showed every manner of wear that kids in public schools can visit on textbooks. Everything being said, I am a regular committed customer and Thrift Books is my first choice for book buying, I take my knocks along with my joys. I wish that they would make it easier to get the satisfaction that they certainly provide if you make it through their customer service gauntlet

They use to be good. Customer service and shipping has drastically declined. I've been waiting 11 days and counting for a textbook that is off the grid between DHL and post office. I contacted customer service and they blew me off. I loathe Amazon and this was my alternative, but not anymore.

You said you would send 5 copies of the 2019 book: Grief & Grieving by Kubler-Ross and Kessler to make my order right. Instead, AGAIN, you sent ONE copy of the 2005 book. I guess I'm dealing with AI -not working! Please call me to resolve this issue!!! Now 8/1625 and still no books!! Just one with wrong copyright-I paid for 5 with 2019 copyright.

Ordered 8 books from Thiftbooks Atlanta and paid a premium price for shipping to overseas location. Order was dispatched from multiple locations in 4 parcels which took 4-5 weeks to reach me. All were packaged in flimsy plastic bags offering no protection to the contents. 4 of the books were damaged or dirty and need repairs or cleaning. When I enquired to locate a parcel which went missing temporarily the incompetent responses I got from their staff were more than frustrating as they asked for information I had already given them, and stated they could not find the order despite already providing info about the order in a previous email. All round a poorly run and organised company with no quality control of their inventory. I don't recommend ordering from them at all.
