Would not do again
Similar to other negative reviews the upside of a guide and support really did not cover downsides.
1. Crammed into a tiny van with no space, whilst the guide took multiple seats to spread out and relax. I did not get any rest at all in the uncomfortable van. This was really brutal and the worst part of the trip.
2. There was provision of hot water/snack only once after the first climb. No food/water/anything after that.
3. I did not enjoy the driving, it was aggressive and erratic.
4. The vans are hired with a specific return time. Traffic/road closures meant many extra hours spent on the road, so even though walkers had plenty of time (within the rules) to finish they forced many to turn back on last peak because they had to get the vans back.
Perhaps I misunderstood this as a premium way of doing the Three Peaks - the pricing made it feel like I might expect that - but it is very far from premium and the transport/vans alone are good enough reason not to do it.

Good quality just as expected Thank You
Fantastic experience that was well…
Fantastic experience that was well organised, challenging and supportive 😀😀
Good quality
The medals are really good quality and the back of the medal is nice showing all the three peaks. Nice memory following the Three Peaks Challenge.
Terrible Experience
Terrible Experience – Poorly Run Company
On first peak, we raced up only to be stuck waiting 30 minutes on the descent because the guides had lost someone. At the bottom, we were then left waiting another 2.5 hours before moving again.
Despite being well ahead of all cut-off times, the disorganized logistics meant we finished hours beyond the 24-hour target.
The transport was just as bad – the driver was swerving dangerously, and we were crammed in like sardines while the guides spread out and took extra seats for themselves (one even taking up five).
One guide openly complained about “slow walkers” over the radio, which we could all hear, making the atmosphere worse.
Food was also misleading – the website promised meals after the second peak, but nothing was provided. We ended up tackling two peaks with almost no food.
Finally, our friend, who was just five minutes behind us on the first peak, was forced into a slower group. We weren’t allowed to wait for him, even though he was clearly at the same fitness level.
Brilliant guides (thanks Tracy)
Brilliant guides (thanks Tracy), fab companions, cramped minibus but awesome drivers, totally beautiful mountains !
An incredibly rewarding experience!
An incredibly rewarding experience. Shaun and Warren were brilliant guides and helped us take as much as we possibly could from the experience. Could not recommend more!
Mission Accomplished!
Excellent website, simple to order, prompt delivery.
Great medals. Many thanks.
A great challenge but be prepared!
I did the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on Saturday with two friends and we did it with Yorkshire Three Peaks Ltd as part of a guided group. The weather conditions were pretty poor but the leaders maintained good communication with each other via walkie talkies and kept everyone safe. We completed the walk in 12 hours and it was gruelling but a great feeling of achievement. Things to know in advance of this walk:
- Make sure you have trained enough in advance. It is a route march in order to complete the route in 12 hours so expect just a few stops and for no more than a few minutes.
- You will need to eat and drink on the hoof so pack a water bladder as you won't have time to keep going in and out of your rucksack. We took bumbags to wear around our waists so we could easily access food and sweets to keep our energy levels up).
- Two walking poles are an absolute must as is a headtorch as you will be starting in the dark for the first hour (September).
- There is only one toilet stop at Horton in Ribblesdale. Ladies, there was only one cubicle open there so there was a long queue. Expect to need to have to wee behind a wall or hedge en route and walk quickly/run to catch up with your group as there is no time to wait for people to take toilet stops.
- If you don't make it to the Ribblehead Viaduct stop by a certain time in the afternoon you won't be allowed to complete the course (in which case they provide minibuses to take you back to the start). Hence the need for the routemarch approach right from the get go.
- The leaders don't hold anyone's hand around the route. Our group leader was very focused on keeping us all moving at a certain pace and there was no chat from him. I can see that their job is simply to get people through the route safely within the 12 hours but a bit of positive chat and encouragement to keep spirits up wouldn't have gone amiss. If you go as a solo walker be prepared to feel a little isolated if you don't have chatty people in your group.
- We were a bit surprised that a 15 year old boy in our group was allowed to do the walk without a parent or guardian with him (his dad dropped him off but did not walk with him). Not sure that was advisable although he seemed to do well and the last we saw of him was when he moved into a faster group after the first peak so he was probably (hopefully) fine!
- If you start to slow down too much you will be asked to join a slower group behind (there is a sweeper leader at the very back) so you won't be abandoned but you also won't be coddled through it. Make sure you have done enough training, we made it round in 12 hours but we all agreed afterwards that we could have benefited from more training on hills.
- All that said, one of the other group's leaders, Martin, deserves a special mention - he showed excellent leadership qualities and walked alongside our teammate who was suffering knee issues in the very last section of the walk down from Whernside.
In summary, you will enjoy this challenge if you go into it with your eyes wide open.
A tough but rewarding day
A tough but rewarding day. We completed the challenge in a lot of rain and wind which made things harder. There was no time to stop to take a break which meant you didn’t really have time for a drink, or get a something to eat. There was one toilet break and we had to wait nearly an hour to use the facilities. We were then constantly told to speed up and walk faster which was quite disheartening, considering we started later than planned due to some delays in the beginning. That being said, the majority of the guides were great, helpful and supportive, especially Ruben. He constantly checked on us and made sure we were ok. He was great!
A fabulous experience and very well organised
The challenge itself was pretty gruelling as it rained heavily all day and was very windy. I also developed tendinitis on the final descent. Martin, a leader of a different team was however fabulous making sure I got down. Not sure how I’d have managed if he’d not stopped to ask if I was ok. It’s very well organised and safely is a priority with constant communication between the different team leaders and support vehicles for those who couldn’t finish. There was however literally no stopping to make sure we 1) made it within 12 hours, and 2) to stop us getting too cold so having snacks in pockets and a water bladder are essential. Otherwise you get left behind and to make sure everyone completes all 3 Peaks you have to keep up. Poles are also essential. I wouldn’t have got up or down some of the ascents and descents without them! The tea stop at the viaduct was brilliant but only 1 toilet stop all day not so much!
Awesome experience
Awesome experience, well looked after and Dave was awesome making sure we got up and down ok!
Highly recommend
Great team running things smoothly! Happy to help with any issues on the day and they really know their stuff when it comes to mountaineering. Massive shout out to Dave Town one of the 3 guides we had on the day. Wouldn’t have done it in the time I did without him and his knowledge of the mountains is vast! Thanks again
Quick easy to order and delivery time…
Quick easy to order and delivery time was fast
Lack of care, poor organisation, go with a different company if possible
Not satisfied overall with how we were all treated by this company. I'm honestly very disappointed after being so excited for the challenge!
I've done a few hiking ultra marathons and other similar challenges so it's not my first experience. I'll highlight what I honestly think needs to be improved:
• A minivan is not acceptable transport for this kind of challenge. The hikers need space to stretch and sleep if needed, and we were in this minivan for nearly 20 hours by the time we got to Chester. What stung even more was that the majority of the group travelled by coach, and the rest were packed in like sardines onto a minivan. Invest in another coach please!
• Communication is essential. Please let the hikers know any changes to the planned itinerary. We were sent a PDF document with an outline of the day via email, with plans for how long the travel should take, plans for several rest stops, a free breakfast included, etc. On the actual day: no breakfast was provided, we stopped only ONCE for food and a toilet break, and due to road closures and alternate routes the travelling took much, MUCH longer than expected. The journey from Scafell Pike to Snowdon took around 7 hours instead of 4 and no announcements were made on this change (on the minivan, not sure about the coach). We were told the main thing we needed to keep to was 5 hours for Ben Nevis, 4 hours for Scafell Pike, and 4 hours for Snowdon. The travelling was out of our hands, but we still arrived late everywhere regardless with no information being given to us throughout.
It is very dangerous to give hikers incorrect information about their opportunities to recover and refuel, if the itinerary states a free meal is given and SEVERAL stops will be made during the journey, you have to deliver on that no matter what. People who push themselves on this challenge with little chance to get food, use the loo, given no room to stretch or sleep for hours or end... this won't be an accurate reflection of their capability because their chances to recover are being hindered, and more likely to injure themselves on this challenge.
• Demonstrate some care towards the hikers. No one signs up for this kind of challenge expecting to be pampered, but I really felt the disdain and lack of care towards us. With the exception of our drivers Nicky and Pete, all other staff guides showed little enthusiasm or encouragement towards us. We were rushed everywhere, rushed into and out of the coach and van, rushed during our ONE rest stop, rushed to get ready to climb, they didn't care if we stretched before or after- they just didn't check up on us at all. I understand it is a timed challenge but we were late everywhere due to travel regardless! We were over the 24 hour mark by the time we arrived in Snowdon, so an extra 5 mins to stretch and prepare isn't asking much!
The hikers who signed up all shared food, took care of each other, listened and encouraged each other along- but from the guides? Nothing. Seemed arrogant and like they wanted you to fail the challenge, I've seen much more enthusiasm from other professional hikers and shocked at the attitude.

Unclear site
It was a challenge to navigate the site and unclear how to register (I unintentionally ended up buying certificates ) …..probably due to the fact I was tired when I went on the site as we’d completed the 3 peaks
What an awesome weekend!
What an awesome weekend completing the national three peaks in three days .
The guides Shaun, Tracey and Gary were very knowledgeable, supportive and motivational.
With Pete and Nicky adding support between each mountain , both with equal good humour and knowledge it all ran smoothly.
There was 21 in our group and although most of us were strangers , we all got on really well and kept each other going throughout.
Shaun the lead guide was very funny , had great stories to tell and a pleasure to have led us through this adventure of a lifetime.
Just one thing , if Shaun says it’s only 23mins to go , you might want to add a bit 🤔😂😂😂
Can’t wait to organise another challenge with them next year
