DO NOT PREBOOK TICKETS

Booked tickets to come for Hyperia. The ride closed, this cannot be helped, I understand that. We were offered date changes but cannot attend any other days. We asked for a refund and were refused. We lost all our money and every single member of staff I spoke with was really unhelpful and rude. I have attended this park many times over the years and I will never attend again now. DO NOT PREBOOK TICKETS, THEY WILL NOT REFUND. THIEVES.

Edit #1 Thorpe Park's management team have today contacted me and offered me a refund which I am extremely grateful for. The whole experience of getting to this point still remains totally unacceptable but I am at least glad someone authorised this and common sense has finally prevailed. I had a Live Chat conversation, a call with a member of staff, then her manager, several emails including the site manager and CEO of Merlin entertainment, a Google review, a Trust Pilot review and finally today's call that rectified the issue. It shouldn't take all that for a refund on 2 tickets because we can't make it back this year and your new advertised ride is closed. Anyway we go there...eventually! See you next year for Hyperia, hopefully!

Everyone was helpful!

Toby was amazing! He helped me sort out my disabled access card as it was too confusing for me. He went above and beyond to help and it was greatly appreciated. All staff including security were friendly, polite, helpful and happy! It was so nice that everyone had a smile for us and it made my son’s birthday that bit extra special.

Serious questions need to be asked over their treatment of disabled guests

Abhorrent, unforgivable treatment of a disabled child.

Due to a system error, my son is now unable to participate in a short break with his friends.

Thorpe Park have refused to take any responsibility for the error at all.

Worse still, they have no procedures in place to appropriately deal with complaints which are escalated.

I have been sending emails to their CEO only to find out that the inbox is monitored by the same customer service staff.

Their actions have meant that a young boy who is repeatedly told he can’t do things in life, is now being told he can’t enjoy a holiday with his friends because he has disabilities.

Dreadful, abhorrent company.

Thorpe park rumble rapids staff Treat people absolutely disgustingly.

Took my 13-year-old cousin, to thorpe park today. And we went on the Rapids. We was on their way with free girls. And two men and there was no room for me Set and day kept yelling at me telling me to sit In my own seat bearing in mind I could not sit in my own see. I ask them if we could have our own boat and they Good night, allows us to have our own boat. The only place I could sit was on the bar of the boat.
So I decided to squeeze in next to my cousin and they kept yelling and yelling and yelling at me.Telling me sit on my own seat bearing in mind I could not fit in my own seat I have.
Been fought park multiple times and have never experienced anything as the disgusting as the treatment I experienced today.
Would not recommend rumble rapids As the staff that work on the ride are absolutely rude and And treat the customers absolutely disgustingly. Those also staff being very sick to other customers around me.And people were being very rude to disabled.People would not recommend rapids would not really recommend the park but as I have a pass , I go there every week And I have never experienced anything like this before.I find it absolutely wrong that they treat people like this. And I would expect to get something in return for the rude treatment I have received today But they have said that they cannot give me anything at all as they can't do anything about it once again.I find it absolutely disgusting and would not recommend the Rapids. And I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else.Really hope the staffs attitude towards People changes , but I doubt it will.

Was a well organised safe smooth operation into park and holding bays at 730am .
The ride is insanely good and can't wait to ride hyperia again. Easily the best coaster in the UK.

Staff at thorpe are kind and helpful and on hand.

Toliets smell amazing and we're cleaned regularly

Food is edible wld like to see someone else take over the food not amarack tbh.

Hyperia closed on second day open!!!

So basically I went to Thorpe park with my dad to go on the new ride called hyperia that’s the UKs new fastest ride in the UK.
Me and my dad went on the second day it was open. We got there at 6AM to get first in line for the ride. We waited 5 hours!! In line and there was about 50 people in Front of us mostly every one there went to go on hyperia. When we got throw security we asked them where the entrance to hyperia and the guy said it was closed. My dad thought he was joking and said ha ha funny but the guy was not joking. My dad lost it. So many people were so mad. Over 1000 people left the park after they found out and they didn’t tell anyone in line. I can’t believe how ridiculous this was. My dad spent £500 !!!!! POUNDS FOR A RIDE THAT WAS CLOSED.

Absolutely pointless me having a pass…

Absolutely pointless me having a pass to go to Thorpe park
It is impossible to book in for ride access because there is NEVER any dates available For kids in half term or weekends and I don’t know what I’m doing seven weeks in advance and if I can get carers to be with me. So now my pass is not going to get use and I am wasting money. This is disgusting. This is no help for parents/Carers of children with disabilities. Again going to be singled out because you can’t pull it together for them.

Nightmare Disability Ride access forms

Nightmare! The disability ride access pass is very hard to complete. Very confusing for a disabled adult with emotional issues.

Make sure you complete all 4 steps on the website. Go back to step 1 then 2 and 4. YOU HAVE TO PRE BOOK using your ID from a ride access pass (Issued by NIMBUS), that takes 7 days to accept or decline. Too much information is needed for a disabled person to obtain a fast track pass. When you get the disabled pass acceptance is emailed to you. (7 days wait) Add the number which is not clear from the email because there are a few. But a number needs to be put in section 4 to allow a fast track pass for the day. The website says ID will not be accepted and when I got to the park, I was asked for it. (As a help because everything else is so confusing) Lastly, remember to put all info in a separate folder in your email. I marked 2* for our lovely Joe and manager at the first desk. Mia at the last desk was not helpful at all!

I was so upset when I saw my little boys face knowing his anxiety rose at the thought of having to que with his sensory issues. We arrived at 2.30 and never gained access to the actual park till 3.45pm.
Thank God for our angel Joe (front desk only), he is amazing and his nails look great too. We love Joe and his team. So kind and gave good explanations and reassurances⭐

Customer service is awful

Customer service is awful, I have had a problem with the pre-book portal hub and they just send me to Merlin. Merlin then say it's a Thorpe Park problem and they send me back to Merlin. Heaven forbid someone actually own the problem on my behalf (the customer). I have had this ping pong with numerous issues over the past 2 years always to do with carer pass.

IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE WITHIN YOUR PARTY WITH A DISABILITY PLEASE READ

IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE WITHIN YOUR PARTY WITH A DISABILITY PLEASE READ!!
So we attended Thorpe Park last weekend as a family of 4, (20th & 21st April) we stayed in the shark cabin rooms and had 2 days in the park.
2 adults 2 children, 13 & 16!
THE CABINS - There good for what you need them to be, small compact but we literally slept in there so it didn't bother us much. The wet room wasn't the cleanest, it was really loud with people walking up and down from outside.
Breakfast was also included which was pretty ok.
We choose to eat out of the park of the evening and returning back to the park was easy enough through security.
The toilets in the park were clean and maintained extremely good compared to other parks we have visited!
Unfortunately this is where my positive experience of Thorpe park ends.
We booked our stay well over a month ago for my son's 16th birthday surprise treat as hes a huge adrenaline junkie despite his additional needs.
My son has a nimbus card due his special needs, whenever we take him places like this we've always required an access card due to his special needs!
On arrival We went straight to guest Services with our information and proof to obtain an access card for our disabled son only to be told we were not allowed one as it had not been booked in advance. We've never been to a theme park (Especially a Merlin park) where we've had to pre-book our access cards for a disabled child. The staff in guest Services were not really much help did not care much and would not get the manager when I asked. at this point there is about 10 families all in guest services for the same reasons at 10am!! All to be told the same, and we're all unaware that we needed to pre-book. Should we have been made aware we needed to pre-book we most certainly would have done to make our stay and enjoyment far easier for my child. By this point the manager finally did come out to speak to all its visitors in the Services. Again, nothing more was done about the situation. Only to be told it was all on the website. It is on the website we checked while we were there but it's right at the bottom in extremely small writing. Maybe an email should be sent out or Merlin parks should have broadcasted or advertised this better because nobody knew and nobody wanted to help any of its visitors in guest services Saturday morning!
There was absolutely no sympathy for any of your guests that morning with disabilities!!
Absolutely shocking.
Personally I think the staff within the services are far too young and inexperienced to take on this role with frustrated guests due to lack of information and communication from higher up!
YOU NEED TO DO BETTER BY YOUR DISABLED GUESTS, ADVERTISE BETTER AND CLEARLY THAT YOU HAVE MADE CHANGES
FOR YOUR DISABLED VISITORS!
Small print on your website clearly isn't enough as none visiting your park that weekend were aware!! On MANY occasions we waited 40/50 minutes in queues with our disabled child who was constantly having mental breakdowns, making other visitors uncomfortable, being a danger to himself and others around him only for the ride to then close then all it's customers waiting to Que had to leave after waiting so long. No fast track passes issued for the inconvenience either!!
The whole weekend this was happening.. are rides fit for use with them constantly having to close due to breakdown's??
I'd also like to highlight the Lovely Arian, who was working SAW on the morning of the 21st April. He's was extremely rude to visitors in the Que, he was the young gentleman directing guests to rows!
We nicely explained that we needed to sit together due to my sons needs as he had put us in different seats splitting the 4 of us up, he abruptly said that there was no special requests for seating and to sit where we are told. My husband found 2 guests who we're together and asked if they would mind changing and going infrint of us so we can make it easier for our son. Again Arian wasn't best pleased and advised he would have us removed from the park for doing our own Que.. but the 2 lovely guest did go infront of us as they saw my son was struggling unlike Arian. As we were seated waiting for the ride to start we again saw the lovely Arian shouting at another group of guests, he actually swore!
I've no idea why, nor the build up to this but your attitude in general is disgusting considering you work within the public sector, your compassion towards disabled guests is extremely poor too! Arian if you don't like your job find a new 1!
This review could be longer and I'd be here all day but opproach with caution with your disabled companions, they show little compassion or help across the whole park by its employees!
I personally don't think any compensation will be enough for us to want to return to Thorpe Park.

Travelled from Ireland to go to thorpe park and got ripped off

Travelled from Ireland to go to thorpe park with friends to arrive today to all the rides closed. Everyone was offered a free ticket for another day to come back but I won't be back in England for the foreseeable future so it's useless to us also apparently a refund is impossible to get. We feel totally scammed and ripped off by this.
Thank you for wasting our time.

Terrible experience

Bad. DO NOT TRAVEL HERE OR BOOK A CABIN. The cabin is too cramped and the shower is literally on the floor. The ride vortex broke down BEFORE we could start. The bar didn’t rise and we got stuck for over 25 mins! It was disgusting and the staff were not helping, and we had a carer pass for fast track and they said, “that doesn’t count”. I DO NOT recommend this resort. In my fair opinion, I suggest an attraction such as Alton Towers. Please, save your money!

THORPE PARK YOU ARE DISGRACE

More less what everyone els has put down about how disgusting how Thorpe park staff treat disabled . I have for my son and i a access card and when trying to pre-order my booking and enter my access code it came up invalid so i decided to wait on the day because when i went last year the staff helped , this time they did'nt want to know. I tried to telling them when i entered my access yellow card it came up invalid. The staff didnt want to know. Fast pass comes priority over disabled . Absolutely disgusting . Only done one ride as to wait 2 hours and then my son who has Autism started kicking off. THORPE PARK YOU ARE A DISGRACE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER

Blatant, shameless rip-off merchants

We came all the way from Germany to visit the relaunched Thorpe Park and we genuinely wish we hadn't bothered.

The first red flag was being treated like a criminal by the overzealous security staff on the front gate. The security is stricter than flying transatlantic, it was like trying to get into Guantanamo Bay instead of a theme park. Bags are searched and one of our party was interrogated about a bottle opener on his key fob... ridiculous.

It was all downhill from there, however. Apart from the Nemesis Inferno, the Stealth and a handful of other minor rides, everything was closed. The park was not fit for opening but open they did, presumably to fleece as many people as possible with entry fees and overpriced food and drinks.

Upon arriving home, Thorpe Park's deplorable and redundant customer service immediately rejected my request for a refund so I've no choice but to leave a bad review here. I do this only ever as a last resort. A refund would have guaranteed a return visit from us at some point, as it stands we will never return nor will we recommend the park to anyone.

Our visit was a total fiasco and simply not worth the time and money for the few rides that were open. We spent most of the time queuing and on four occasions rides broke down after we had been queuing for them for up to 45 minutes. Twice this happened without anyone even being properly informed in the queue - the staff are all teenagers and much more interested in having a laugh amongst themselves than doing their job.

The entire day was like a bad joke, a tragic comedy sketch. The management should take some tips from German theme park owners, places like Europa Park and Holiday Park may have seen better days and may not be perfect but they are much better run than Thorpe Park. Which is a shame as the rides certainly looked impressive, even if they were motionless.

A sad indictment of the times we live in.

(If Thorpe Park replies to this review with a stock response to recommend I contact their customer services: I already have, and they said it is against their policies to give refunds. A "return for free" offer is useless for us as we live in Germany and are not regularly in the Surrey area!)

My friend has a yellow pass for her son…

My friend has a yellow pass for her son who is disabled and she took my son who has ADHD AND AUTISM, she was told that she couldn't use her card as it had changed and those who had paid for fast track had priority over disabled people.know where does it state this. Disabled people where being refused entry to rides because of these able body fast tracking.when she went to reception to complain they said it had changed and she would have to put up with it,no customer care at all. absolutely disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves,so if you have a disability card that is supposed to give you priority check before you go. Otherwise you will have one ride in 2hrs,they should take it in turns one from one line one from another not prioritised all able body people and disregard disabled people like a piece of rotten meat. DISGUSTING THORPE PARK

Really shocking process to book and for accessibility
Absolutely no point.
The point of these is to be able to go whenever you want / can but with all the new booking requirements and a week in advance it is pointless. Especially if you have special needs. Jumping through hoops etc to get the right support in place to only have little to no help AGAIN!

Not disability friendly.

If you are looking for a day out with a child who has a disability i strongly suggest avoiding Thorpe park, on normal days you have to wait a hour just to be told you cannot get a disabled pass card because you have to pre-book this. my child with autism and severe anxiety has a nimbus disability card as that's what we had been told to get. all of last year this worked perfectly allowing my son to virtually queue so he didn't have a panic attack and horrible head aches. now we have been told to pre-book our pass after waiting an hour. this would have been fine is we were TOLD, this is poorly communicated with it being on a small section on their app. we drove 4 hours to be sent away with no refund as we could not do anything. shame on Thorpe park as this is normally our first choice as a fun day out
