Thomas Cook cooked us.

We 4 families went to Kashmir based on Thomas cook tour package. Payment made online based on their online grid for each family, took almost whole day with too much hazzle. Hotel voucher not given until we check in the houseboat at Srinagar. They sublet the tour to a local contractor. Houseboat accommodation at Srinagar was horrible, dirty toilet, revolving toilet seat, rusted pointed toilet paper stand, no hot water for bath at night or room heater.

At Pahalgam, Thomas Cook given us servant quarters with no proper access to enter the room. Revolving toilet seats, leaking health faucet, rotating washbasin tap are few highlights. After 3 days of struggle, we got apologies from Thomas Cook. No AC tempo traveler given, no park visit ticket given, no valley visit transport given as per quotation and we found this new management does not care about the promise, quotation or customers. Once money paid to them will not come back. Thomas Cook really cooked us.

Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service. We started to talk to bhavin bhai more than a month before our trip. Please remember this is an individual trip review not a group tour review.
Bhavin bhai booked our whole itinerary and took money for flights and said he isn't going to book the rest of it. This was 2 weeks before us flying to Thailand and we were out of town until the day before the trip.

Obviously we lost it and asked for our money back as we weren't aware the trip had been booked and confirmed fully. This was when he said everything is booked...whoala in less than 10 minutes everything is booked. Hmmm fishy.

Also many things were not clear or made clear. Such as private meaning car will only pick up and drop not be ours for the entire trip. Which is how they booked previously. We did a private tour thinking it would save know time. It didn't.

During the tour. The people coordinating behaved absolutely horribly. They treated us like we were slaves being transported or something. Proper language was not used. Respect down the drain. Customer service...didn't exist.

Tons of hours were left for us to figure out what to do as they didn't give us an itinerary before hand to be able to add other things on. An itinerary was provided but a proper itinerary with times was never provided, even though asked for many times.

During transportation, there were many conflicts. They would send us a time to be ready by but that was never the correct time. They would send us a car number that would be coming to pick us up but at the last minute a different car would show up. One of the car drivers was indian who spoke hindi so we could understand the conversation. He literally told the guy coordinating why would you tell your client 530pm when you know on a Friday evening none of my drivers would make it to pickup until 6 pm

We are in day 1 of a Hong Kong Macau…

We are in day 1 of a Hong Kong Macau package and it could not start worse. I will be writing review day by day so that customers can know the reality.

We arrived at hotel by 12 noon and we could not check in at hotel even after waiting for 3 hours. So imagine taking an overnight flight and then sitting hotel lobby for hours. The hotel selected Is also terrible in servic. They never heard Gandhiji say customers are not nuisance but very purpose or business!

Exquisite Turkey tour 22 - 30 Sep 2023 …

We recently joined the Turkey tour from 22 - 30 Sep2023. Though with mixed feelings we completed the tour with some great memories. Lots of various Turkish cuisines.

Tour somewhat went well but definitely could have been better with some places which needs to be tweaked.
Our Tour Guide Padmini Mane was not very capable of handling though the actual Tour guide expert Furkan handled the group and we were more comfortable with him.
It was so frustrating that on the very first day we were stranded at the Airport outside gate 14 and no one was there to pick us up. Somehow I reported to my Travel Agent Bains Travel from Canada and they instantly called and gave me the travel agent number. Padmini did not contact nor send me any mail to inform nor she whatsapp me. This is surely not accepted handling international passengers for this tour.

Padmini instead was mostly staying a bit away from group. She used to tell us the itinerary for next day at the very last minute. There was a favouritism going with a Gujarati family. Where for every stop the time was deliberately lenient for that family. Even at Cappadocia they were given better lower level rooms at cave Hotel. Though I told her about this , she kept quiet.

Overall the tour had so much to see but it was very very hectic, Waking up 2 am almost few days were always not very welcomed by the group.

Food comments were good, restaurants were mixed. On the last day after Bosphorous Tour we were standing for quite sometime and they finally took us to Hilton restaurant Dubb at a very early dinner, though we had lunch at 3 30 pm and then dinner at 6 30. This period needs a bit of a reshuffle for future tours.

Another issue we faced, that the Gujrati family were given priority to get the front seats on all days. This rotation of seats on a daily basis should be given priority on a long bus journey where every traveller from a family with a different age group, especially seniors, should be given a fair chance. Padmini did not give any attention. On one of the journeys I got a solo seat and my wife got a corner last seat which was not welcomed at all.
Better professionalism expected in future from the Tour coordinator / guide.

I took a customized individualized…

I took a customized individualized package for my family ( total 3 pax) of japan. I don't what they understood when I asked for a customized tour may be they meant everything to be done on own by their customers . It was pathetic . They contacted another agency in japan who in turn contacted another supplier in tokyo and arranged customized tour to be done by the customer. Other than hotel rooms plus pick up and drop plus few travel here and there nothing else they provided. The managers of thomas cook in india ate up money which I paid in lots and lots gave nothing away as service . May be they all want to get a free holiday for meeting their target . I was one of their victim of target practice. If I could give minus stars I would do so . Don't ever take any holiday packages from thomas cook in india.

We had taken 5 days package to…

We had taken 5 days package to singapore in July 2023. Firstly they make us book on same day of enquiry saying discount n 1 day free hotel stay in our home place after we are back from trip. After booking no such sort of complimentary hotel book was given n no response from them regarding the same.
About the package it was badly managed the hotel timing and airport pick up even after repeated request they kept saying its done but timings was not changed. We had to take shelter at MC Donald's till hotel staff gave us room ..that hotel even lacked the lobby to sit. Such a pathecti management from them,it's like loading n unloading goat's at sight seeing and also their staff kept changing n every new agent was unaware about the bookings and committed discount and complimentary stay.. they just want the booking tobe done from their end n earn commissions....manager tharneesh is a big waste guy dint even respond to my repeated calls. Never book ur vacations with these guys .it's such a waste of money n u end up frustrated than being happy in ur vacations.

Purchased a Multicurrency card and some…

Purchased a Multicurrency card and some Forex from their app on my IPhone. It’s been over a week and I’ve revived no updates. I’ve reached out to their service centre multiple times and was assured callbacks which I never received. Even emailing them has not helped. Basically unnecessary stress before travel. Will avoid it in the future.

Stressful, Nightmarish experience. Worst tour operator in India . Avoid!

Stressful, Nightmarish experience. Thomas Cook India is everything that a business in the hospitality should not be. They have zero interest in customer service , respect / empathy for individual customer’s for hard earned money or dreams. They thoroughly screwed up the Fusion Europe trip that we had booked with them 3 months in advance by their sheer inefficiency and lack of interest for individual s customers. In addition to the mental agony , we suffered from them cancelling our trip, last minute, they have deducted huge amount from the refund

Things that we have discovered: Thomas Cook doesn’t offer any advantages or professionalism associated with corporate., infact you find lot of disadvantages when any issues occur.

The initial prompt response to sales enquiries, enthusiastic package discussions and repeated follow ups from their end gives a false sense of professionalism, which ends once you advance the amount. Infact their whole attitude shifts abruptly.

Your local TC booking agent will have zero answers or be of any use in case of issues, be it about visa appointments, refund or rescheduling the trip. They will just say, we have a corporate process. everything is decided by Mumbai office…you are left completely hanging with your lakhs of Rs in their pockets and no one to approach.

There is no escalation points in case of issues . Your only point of contact is the booking agent. You just get an automated ticket when you raise issues via email / toll free with no further calls or actions for resolutions(we had to invoke personal contacts within their head team to get a refund, even with )

Their interest is in corporate bookings for which they second prioritise individual groups/ families, particularly when registering for visa appointment slots

Hotel details are shared just one day in advance of travel date only. These are like whatever is available, not same as they mention in the brochure. They change the initial flights at the last minute. You are put on the spot and they pressure you to agree to all of this mentioning otherwise you will lose all your money.

Their visa services are really poor. While other tour operators gave their clients Schengen visa appointments atleast a month upfront (die to news about visa delays), TC gave visa appointments less than 2 week before travel.

It is not a case of single inefficient agent, as far as our experience with communicating with TC goes, the entire organisation is inefficient, not able to handle peak tourist seasons, and reeks of corporate arrogance. The initial TC agency must have been good. We believe that, this current agency is just thriving on that good name.

Big name with poor sense of service approach

Big name with poor sense of service. Motivated for profiteering at the cost of the clients. Collect money for tour packages, outsource to other vendors. Do not hold accountable for non performance by the vendor. Stay silent without answer, block clients from tweeting. Misappropriates the estimates at their advantage. My worst experience with Chardham yatra by Helicopter on 19th June 2023. Took Rs.1.97,400/- per person Ex Dehradun. Vendor completed 2 dhamas, Ended tour halfway due to bad weather, saying nearly 50% will be refunded. 2 Heli rides done with 3 left out heli services and 2 Dhamas (Badri and Kedar). No initiation for refund from their side. On contact, offering only Rs. 50,000/-, for which they quote 1.25 lakhs fresh. Appropriate Rs. 1,47,400/- for their expenses without showing budget estimates.How is it logical/rational on equity terms for senior citizens like us? Till now, no REFUND.
The horrible part is that they simply ignore and forget to take a feedback or contact from their side to know about the status of the journey of their clients. The booking agents are completely ignorant and without having any professional knowledge to deal with clients without any knowledge on the trip. The company engages itself to play hide and seek game by blocking the clients from the social webs and tries to show it's clean face before others. This is pure suppression of facts about it's dirty culture of harassing customers without resolving the issues and timely non-payment of refunds.

Absolutely disappointed

Hi, I am from Hyderabad . I have never written a bad review against even a simple delivery person but I am forced to do this so that no other customer is lied to and deceived in a manner that I have been deceived . This complaint is regarding Mr Kishore from the Banjara Hills branch and his team in Hyderabad. Me and my partner reached out to Mr Kishore for a Switzerland trip. Although he discouraged us saying we would not get the visa and to try for Turkey first. It all started here and then every thing else went downhill from there. I specifically asked for personalised tour but after weeks of back-and-forth, he convinced us to go for a group tour that was organised by Europamundo. My only priorities were that I wanted to travel with diverse people from different countries and not visit any country that I am seeing in a rush. Every single time I stepped into his office and stepped out of his office I always very humbly and nicely asked him if it is going to be a rush in the tour, and if the hotels are going to be nice and he always told me that it won’t be a rush, it was done leisurely and the hotels are really nice.
I told Mr Kishore specifically that I have travelled to more than 20 countries in my life, and my top priority is the comfort of the tour, hotel wise, scheduling, sightseeing, getting enough relaxation, etc. After I went on this tour, it was the most horrible experience of my life. We were made to wake up and rush from one place to another every single day 12 hours a day. We were seeing two or three different cities in one day and sleeping in another city and waking up and going to another city the next day. Moreover, the hotels were in such bad localities and the services were so bad that they did not even turn on the central air conditioning. Even upon requesting several times and some hotels had food stains on their towels and one hotel had blood stain on the bed sheet, reaking of smoke foul smell of rotten food everywhere in the hotels. The bus in which we were travelling for 12 hours in a day was the size of a minivan and absolutely uncomfortable seats.
The driver would not even turn on the AC. There came a point where we had to give up and disconnect from the tour and makes fresh reservations and continue the travel on our own. We lost so much money due to it. Mr Kishore at the Banjara Hills branch in Hyderabad was very misleading. If every Thomas Cook office in India does this then I am very disappointed with the efforts put in the brand to revive.
I wish people who are opting for this company to travel abroad or anywhere can come across my review and not opt for it. And I wish all this is brought to the notice of the board of directors of Thomas Cook India and they do something about it.

Overall very rough experience for the…

Overall very rough experience for the amount of money spent. On my Europe tour and hotels didn’t had elevators. Tour manager was rude with lot of attitude. He will says complain to the company if you have any problems. He was unfit and tired. Always coughing. Looks like he was out of his strength. Please have younger and fit people to guide the tour. Back office didn’t handle bookings correctly. Very messed up tour company. Only there to make money.

Thomas Cook is not a very comfortable…

Thomas Cook is not a very comfortable company to plan a vacation with.
Reasons-
1)They are very difficult to communicate with.
2)They are very rigid.
3)As soon as the full payment is made,they break all contacts and do not respond to any request for contact.
4)On reaching the destination you are left at the mercy of the local representative who may or may not respond to your calls.
5)They don’t provide and contact number of their representative in India so no chances of asking for any help from the company.

My personal experience-

2)On reaching the destination,the number of the local representative was switched off and since i wasn’t provided any number of their Indian Representative,i had to keep searching for the pick up vehicle by running here and there.
2)Their guide for city tour disappeared after the first stop of city tour.

Conclusion-
It’s an advise to not take any packages from Thomas Cook.

Horrible experience with Thomas Cook

Please do not consider these ppl for any kind of trip. You will.just ruin ur peace of mind. My parents planned a trip for Europe with them.

1. First of all they are horrible at communicating anything.There is zero initiative in their behalf. My dad had to keep calling them for visa processing etc.

2. My parents were not leaving back from Paris but traveling onwards to Canada to visit me,hence they needed only one way ticket from Hyderabad to Zurich. My father kept on requesting the ticket and finally got it a week before the travel date. Now on the date of travel,he kept trying to check in but was getting an error. He called the airline and they said that the ticket was canceled. The ticket said they were to depart at 4 am on 14th June. Now after calling Thomas Cook and saying that the ticket was canceled, they sent a new ticket which was at 9 pm on 13th June.So basically, the ticket got preponed by several hours. Luckily my parents were packed and ready to leave, they just about made it.

3. My parents were staying back for two days extra in Paris, Thomas Cook kept saying they will extend the accommodation but again canceled last moment.

4. My father had already paid for the optional activity in Zurich but on the day of activity, they said that my parents name was not there on the list.My father had to pay 360 euros again for that activity.

All of this to say save urself some pain and just DO NOT BOOK THOMAS COOK.We still have about 600 euros that are to be refunded. Horrible tour services. I am 1000% sure there are better services out there.

Worse experience ever. I bought a package from them and I’m the last minute they said that hotels are sold and asked to pay 12k extra . Even after that they changed my itenerary without my permission. Kindly do not trust them

Thomas cook is a very bad company and shows no interest regarding customers queries, they are very unprofessional, Incase of any mishap they don’t take up responsibilities and asked us to pay more amount than usual. The management is messed up and they really need to upgrade the working or shut the company for good

Thomas Cook is a crook company and should be avoided at all cost. Especially at the airport they will check your passport and visa if they are the immigration official. They just want you harass the foreign nationals. Their customer service is zero. This company should be avoided at all cost.
