Terrible Quality Control and Customer Service

These used to be amazing jeans. Then quality control problems began. It started with random sizing. Customer service said that is to be expected in "premium" jeans. Ha! Then they added another size range, so I thought I would give them a try again. This pair showed up with stripes across the front like their bleach machine went haywire. Of course, I just missed their ridiculous return policy due to them using the ship date instead of when you get them. So basically, you have about 21-25 days to return them. Never again!

Free Returns / Exchanges With a Fee

They advertize free shipping / free exchanges / free returns, yet when you try to exchange, they charge more. If you try to return, they credit less to your credit card.

The most frustrating part is they can't explain why.

AMAZING COMPANY, Amazing Customer Service, Amazing Fit

I have been loosing weight and decided I need a new look and I found TPJ.nyc on line and purchases one pair of there stretch jeans, first because of the oh my goodness stretch and they also come in shorter inseams. To my amusement the jeans are AMAZING. I NOW HAVE MANY PAIRS and have also tried there Dungarees and I really love these even MORE, same fit (amazingly comfortable in that all important area), and they come in so many wonderful colors that being a clothes fanatic I now own every color. I also really like there draw string shorts as well. If you haven’t noticed by my review yet, I AM SOLD ON theoerfectjean.nyc. The best quality and fit ever.

Guys they run big so SIZE DOWN DOWN!!!

Great concept, poor execution/quality, and horrible service

I have purchased over a dozen pair from this company, in a wide range of cuts and sizes because I am a wannabe body builder and my weight and size vary a lot over a bulking and cutting cycle. I am 6'5" and my weight has varied from 195 lbs to 238 and back to 195 over the period of time I have been wearing jeans from TPJ. My thighs and glutes changed more than my waist, so I have explored a lot of variations in sizing and cuts to find jeans that fit.

I recently was thinking about ordering another pair, hopefully something that would fit me better, and became a bit confused comparing jeans to their size chart. In the process I came to realize that one reason I have struggled to order pants that fit me well is that their quality control is really lacking. Cuts and size combinations of Jeans that should be larger in the hips were actually much smaller than others, and vice versa. In particular, I had a 32x36 that was much smaller than a 30x36. This especially sucks because, after I bought mislabeled jeans, I based decisions on what to order next on the incorrect fit of the mislabeled or mis-manufactured jeans I already had. If sizing and labeling are not consistent, this exercise quickly descends into chaos.

I wrote to them (after getting nowhere with the ridiculous AI chat "customer service") asking if there was a consistent error in the size chart, or a lot of variation in sizing from one manufacturing batch to another, or some other problem, so that I could figure out how to order. Foolish me.

I didn't ask them to send me a new pair of jeans, but that is what they offered to do. (instead of answering any of my questions about sizing and quality). But now we have descended through many email iterations of arcane corporate policy about what can be provided. Apparently they can only send me something that I won't be able to wear currently. Which is ridiculous, since if I had realized I wasn't getting what I ordered originally, I could have just exchanged it then for whatever I wanted.

They also have other quality and design issues. The zippers have been getting a lot worse in quality... I have a pair of athletic cut jeans purchased in 2025 that will NOT stay zipped up. And what's up with the waist sizes? The waist sizes are all just too big for what they are supposed to fit. It's not good enough to just tell people to size down: (1) the thigh to waist proportions are OFF; and (2) they don't stock tall jeans below a certain waist size, but a TPJ 30" waist easily fits a 35" waist, so effectively they don't have anything for lean guys who want their pants to stay up. If the thighs are tighter than the waist, the pant creeps down constantly over the day like a poor-fitting pair of athletic tights.

Update 2026: after I posted this review and shared it with them, they eventually sent me a new pair of jeans. The 32x36 slim thick I had bought a while back when I was bulking were mislabeled: probably they are 30x36. I currently--post cut--am wearing a 30x36 athletic jean that has a severe zipper quality issue, and they sent me a new 30x36 slim thick that's correctly labeled. The 30x36 slim thick fits my build like I think they intend a skinny fit to work for most people. The athletic fit is a good all-around casual fit for me, but I would probably do better with a 29x36 (their vanity sizing with the waist sizes is pretty extreme), but they don't make a 29x36 currently. Keep in mind I could wear a 30x36 athletic fit comfortably with a 36"+ actual waist measurement when I was bulking, so not having a 29x36 in their lineup means lean, tall athletic built men do not have many options.

THEY ARE NOT CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT

THEY ARE NOT CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT! THESE ARE THE MOST CLINGING UNCOMFORTABLE PANTS EVER. I KEEP TRYING TO WEAR THEM AND IN 5 MINUTES HAVE TO PUT ON DIFFERENT PANTS. WHY WOULD THEY USE PERFECT IN THEIR COMPANY NAME? IT'S JUST NOT TRUE IN MY OPINION.

Where to begin

Where to begin. I ordered a pair of Perfect Jeans in November 2024, and after months of frustration with their return process, I finally received a pair that fits—but it’s in the wrong color. This experience has been exhausting.

I purchased my first pair on sale, but the fit didn’t work for my body type. No problem, I thought, since they allow exchanges. Initially, the return process seemed straightforward. I exchanged the pair for a different style at the same cost with no issues. However, when the second pair arrived, they were the wrong size—not the size I ordered.

This is where the experience went downhill. The exchange process suddenly changed: instead of simply swapping the jeans, I was issued a gift card for the amount I paid (at the sale price) and instructed to repurchase the jeans at full price. This was completely unfair and contradicted the return policies listed on their website. To make matters worse, they don’t offer phone support—only email communication.

It took three separate emails to get them to acknowledge that:

1) Changing the process midstream made the exchange unnecessarily complicated, and
2) Asking me to pay full price for an item I initially bought on sale was unreasonable—especially since the only reason I was exchanging them was because they sent the wrong size.

Eventually, I was provided with a discount code to bring the replacement cost back down to what I originally paid. I placed the new order, hoping the ordeal was over.

But then came the final straw: the new jeans arrived in the correct size and style—but the wrong color. Instead of the blue tint I ordered, they sent black. Not even close. After three months of back-and-forth, I decided to keep the jeans rather than deal with their customer service again.

For comparison, I recently ordered Levi’s 559 stretch jeans directly from the Levi website. The process was seamless: I placed the order, received the correct product the first time, and paid less than I did for the Perfect Jeans.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend The Perfect Jean. The customer service is slow and frustrating, their return process contradicts the policies on their website, and the overall experience has been terrible. While the product might be decent, it’s not worth the hassle. I won’t be back.

Good product, weak QC & fake reviews

Have bought 7 pairs of pants from this website. Jeans are super comfortable & have nice stretch. My issue is qc and shady business practices. The last couple of pairs I bought, made the mistake of removing the tags before trying them on, assuming they were fine because I’d already bought 5 other pairs. These were almost 4 inches longer & legs were also wider. I submitted a respectful review with pictures & they sent me a discount code for the review, but never posted it. They filter out any critical reviews & only post 4-5 star reviews on their site.

Good quality and good customer service..

I ordered 3 pairs, around $80 to $90.
2 pairs fit great and the 3rd was a bit too long. I sent an email and they immediately shipped me a new pair to replace. Told me to keep the others until I get to try the new pair and make sure it's a fit. I like their communication and the jeans are very nice and overall fit great. So stretchy while still looking like jeans.
