I’ve been really pleased with Animate and my experience with the Functional Mushroom Company. The packaging is beautiful, and everything arrived on time. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the product.

As a 50 (ahem) year-old man, it’s been encouraging to start feeling the benefits reasonably quickly. It’s still early days, but I’m really happy with how I’m finding it so far.

I particularly love the purity of the ingredients. That matters to me when choosing something to take regularly, and it’s one of the things I appreciate most about Animate. A great product, beautifully presented and delivered as promised. Really spot on.

I spent quite a while looking for a mushroom supplement that I actually felt comfortable buying, mainly because I wanted to know exactly what I was taking. A lot of the products I came across either hid the quantities behind proprietary blends or didn’t provide enough information about their testing, which made me hesitant to order. Flourish was different in that respect — I could actually look through the testing and product information before purchasing, which gave me much more confidence in the quality and transparency of what I was buying.

The ordering process was straightforward and my delivery arrived quickly. I also really liked the presentation when it arrived. The glass bottle feels much more premium in person than I expected from the website, and it looks nice enough to leave out rather than having another plastic supplement tub cluttering up the bathroom.

I’ve now been taking two capsules in the evening for just over six weeks and have found it very easy to make them part of my nightly routine. I particularly wanted something I could take later in the day, and I’ve found that my evenings feel noticeably more settled since incorporating it. I’ve also been sleeping well, and the fact that I’ve been able to take it consistently without it feeling like a chore is probably one of the biggest positives for me.

I also appreciate the refill pouch, as it makes the whole setup feel a little more considered and avoids having to replace the glass bottle every time. It’s certainly not the cheapest mushroom supplement I’ve come across, but for me the transparency around the ingredients and testing, the quality of the packaging and the fact that I genuinely enjoy taking it make the higher price feel worthwhile. I’d much rather spend a little more on something where I can clearly understand what I’m buying than choose a cheaper product that leaves me questioning what’s actually in

Really fantastic product. I got it to help regulate my sleep and I've felt a real improvement. Packaging looks great too the little leaflet is really informative I didn't know mushrooms were so complex!

Great Company to deal with. I had a question and this was answered on the same day and to my complete satisfaction.

I bought Animate specifically because this company markets itself on independent testing. I asked for their certificate of analysis before ordering, and to their credit they sent a real one from an accredited lab (Altitude Consulting, ISO 17025) along with a valid Soil Association organic certificate. The first reply was detailed and conceded several fair points. That's more than most brands manage.

Then the product arrived, and things stopped adding up.

The pouch carries the Purity-IQ "Certified Authentic" trustmark next to a QR code captioned "SCAN FOR LAB ANALYSIS." I scanned it. It returns a Purity-IQ page reading "Certification Status: Under Suspension." It still reads that today, weeks later. Meanwhile the website continues to describe the range as "Purity-IQ verified," and the pack states the product is "independently verified by NMR metabolomic testing", NMR being Purity-IQ's method.

My pouch is batch 56816. That number appears nowhere on the certificate, whose Batch ID field is blank on every sample. The company confirmed in writing that no lot code links my pouch to any certificate. So I have no verified analysis of the product I actually received.

The label commits to more than 1.8 mg/g hericenone C. The website markets the measured 29.85 mg/g as "199% over benchmark", about sixteen times their own label specification. Cordycepin, by comparison, is specified at over 9 mg/g against 10.29 measured, a sensible margin. No explanation for why one spec is so far adrift. The hericenone figure is also the single result the lab states in print is outside its accredited scope, and it's the number they lead with.

They also told me the "1% category benchmark" on the product page is their lab's internal observation across client samples, not a published standard. It's still shown as a benchmark.

The ingredient declaration reads "Cordyceps (sinensis CS-4 strain)." The lab panel is titled Cordyceps militaris. I asked twice which species is actually in the capsules. No answer. And the "100% CLEAN" claim covers a four-species blend sample, not this product.

I emailed these points twice and have had no reply. I've cancelled my subscription.

I’ve had steady energy throughout the day, steady mood, and am just feeling more like myself again - I am also able to get so much more done as I can focus and feel motivated again - hooray!

I have recommended this to many female friends who are are in the peri-menopause stage of life. I am so grateful that this has been made, is third party tested and has the correct therapeutic doses to experience meaningful changes. I keep mine on the side of my bed and take the 2 capsules as soon as I wake up. Total game changer - I highly recommend this to anyone who wants their mojo back!

The Animate lionsmane mushroom bottle is a beautiful thing, and was delivered promptly and in a very useful box which you can use (and I'm going to) for cultivating err, mushrooms. The capsules have a relatively mild effect, but an interesting and very clarifying one. They help you make good decisions - and who's going to complain about that?

Upgraded to Animate after trying some Lion's Mane gummies from another company that turned out to be massively underdosed. It took me about 5 weeks to feel the effects but this is the real deal. My focus and creativity is so much better and my job is reliant on it. You can tell these guys care a lot about the product, from the packaging to the ingredients, it's top.

I have found the supplements from FMC to be effective. I have also found the customer service to be outstanding. I have asked questions about my experiences with mushroom supplements a couple of times and they have been so generous with their time sending me the information and links to studies for my own research.
I have now been using the Flourish Blend for over 6 months and find it helpful in improving sleep quality and my immunity to everyday colds. I also take the Ignite Blend coffee and Lion's Mane in the morning which has helped me give up caffeine (which I needed to do).
