We have been providing quality fuels to the UK for over 90 years, taking pride in our heritage and expertise in the coal industry. To make our products more accessible, we created an online shop that is simple to use and easy to navigate, with our customers in mind.
Our goal is to deliver the best house coal, smokeless fuel, and kiln-dried logs at competitive prices.
We have carefully selected our most popular products and brought them to your doorstep in a few simple clicks. Our longevity in the industry can be attributed to our commitment to quality products and excellent customer service.
Our History:
Since 1932, our family business has been thriving thanks to the late Jack Harrison’s vision. We are proud to say that our traditional family values have remained at the core of everything we do. Back in the day, we used to deliver coal to local homes using horses and carts. Although times have changed, the memories of those days remain with us, and we still cherish them. As the business grew, Jack’s son Geoff joined him on trips to the mine. It was on one of these trips that Geoff thought he was left behind and walked all the way to the mine! Such memories remind us of the hard work and dedication that went into building this business. As the years went by, all four of Jack’s sons joined the business, and we have since expanded our product range to meet the demands of the modern world.
Today, we employ a team of around 30 staff who work tirelessly to deliver modern, efficient fuels to homes, factories, hotels, farms, and all kinds of premises. We have harnessed technology to keep up with the needs of the 21st century and supply garage forecourts and shops with pre-packed fuels. We moved to our current location at the industrial estate in Milton in 1992, which allowed us to expand and modernise our business to meet current requirements. We are proud of our history and the legacy that Jack left behind. As we continue to grow and adapt to the ever-changing business landscape, we remain driven by the same values that have kept us going all these years. We are grateful to our loyal customers, and we look forward to serving them for many more years to come.

I rarely write reviews...
Very prompt service. Coal delivered very quickly (within a day or two). The delivery driver was excellent and friendly and unloaded the fuel exactly where I asked. Neatly packed, very dry (others I have used, the fuel has been soaking wet). Reasonable price. Really good service.

Helpful friendly and delivered on time
We had a problem with the delivery date and easily changed it. Delivery requirements were clear and the driver delivered them closer than we thought he would. Not used any wood yet but it looks ok.

Delivery date and address issues
Delivery date quoted in email stated the wrong weekday. I had to query this by phone to confirm the correct day of the week. There was also a problem with the delivery driver's postcode software which indicated the wrong address. Otherwise, the delivery was quick and efficient.

Great quick and flexible service but mixed quality
Great quick and flexible service, placing the order was easy enough and first delivery date wasn’t suitable but with a quick email it was amended easily.
Order arrived and was able to track it, order was well packaged. My only disappointed was with the content and in particular the excessive level of loose bark (this definitely exceeded the 5% max that was stated on the description page).
We’ve ordered kiln dried logs before but never received this significant amount of loose bark in the delivery. We had to separate out the bark as we were unpacking the delivery and stacking the logs; and it’s taken up more than 3 kindling bags worth of space, which was wasted space that could have been used for more wood.
Submitted this feedback to them by email but have to date disappointingly not received any response to my email.

Order made and I received an email…
Order made and I received an email saying it had been processed and a link to track it on. Then 6 days later I tried the link but it didn't work, no order found. So I called the coal shop and could tell that there was an issue with the order, either missed, ignored or forgotten. The next day I received an email saying my order would be delivered, 11 days after the order was placed.
It was the first time I'd tried the coal shop and due to the terrible service, it will be my last.

i have used the coal shop for the last 3or 4 yearsi find there smokeless coal very good i light my multi stove middle of october and it do not go out till the start of march i come down in the morning and the fire is still glowing i just add a bit more coal so it keeps in 24/7 for 6 months also the delivery drivers are very helpful so i highly recommend the coal shop
