You will not get a refund regardless of your circumstances
On Wednesday 22nd May, my son was in a panic as his driving test was booked for the Thursday, without access to a car as my car had issues with the brakes.
My son, who has learning difficulties (ADHD), came across TestCar1 on the internet and due to panicking and the issues that ADHD presents, he read the larger font on the webpage "pay £130 now" with a link.
As a parent, I am trying to support my son's confidence and independence through the encouragement of my son doing things himself and supporting him if he struggles with that task.
My son contacted me stating that he has found a car on TestCar1 website and that he paid £13O. Shortly after my son then contacted me stating that the £130 was for the hire of the car only, and that he was required to pay another £130 for the service of an instructor for 1 hour. My son contacted TestCar1 and was told that the £130 can not be refunded as per their T&C's, and with support from myself, my son cancelled the service and subsequently had to cancel the driving test for the following day.
My son was quite upset about losing the £130, and came to me for support. I contacted TestCar1 today (Friday), and tried to explain my sons circumstances. The male I spoke to with a southern accent, was defensive from the start of the conversation, even before I could explain the situation and interrupted me throughout my explanation. I stated that I was aware that his company had detailed the full fee on the website and that he had not done anything wrong, but due to my son's learning difficulties, all he would have noticed was the "pay £130 now" link as the font was larger than the other information. This male stated that for the short time span between click to book and to be cancelled, it would have costed the £130, which I replied that this was total rubbish, and that we both know that this was not the case, and to not insult my intelligence. This male increased the intensity of his defensiveness, and stated: "you say your son has learning difficulties but he can pass his theory test!". I was totally shocked by this narrow minded comment! This male, who was consistently interrupting me, defending his position throughout the conversation, raised his voice and stated that "I was very rude woman...and arrogant", which was a perfect reflective description of himself. I mentioned that I would be doing a review and he stated that he was fine with that and "enjoy writing your review"!
This male seems more interested in maintaining his Ego, and I am expecting a comment from him for this review, continuing to deflect and defend his appalling behaviour.
Edit.....I have just noticed the comments in the below review and realise that we are not the only ones to fall foul of this company. Just wished my son had done some research!

Amazing service!!
Amazing service!!! Back story: so my driving instructor disappointed me a few days to my test saying his car got bad, didn’t know what to do as I didn’t want to cancel my test so I went online to look for a car to hire (not even sure it was possible) and stumbled on this website and decided to go for it. Long story short, I was contacted by a driving instructor few minutes after making payment (he was so kind and patient) we met up an hour before my test, did some driving and I went for the test and passed it!!
I am so grateful for this site. Welldone!! I will definitely recommend. Thanks once again.

Please be careful and do not send any message to this company, otherwise a crazy man will call you and say some bad things to you in a very rude way, and he said all nonsense. I am very glad that I did not pay, I think he just wanted to make you pay and then cancelled your order with charge you the 12% (in a agreement you have to select it because only one option for you to tick).
The crazy man called me and asked me if I was not at work, saying that I non stop spent 10 hours sending him messages. I think he should see a doctor, his mental illness is probably very serious. I only sent a message at 12 noon to ask for the price for a friend. After that, I received a text message asking me to pay, but I did not do so because it was not my own request, I just asked for a friend. The second message was at 3 pm I sending to confirm the service content, but I was told that the price increased from £250 to £385, and the service content was completely different. After that, I stopped sending any messages. As a result, the crazy man called me at 5:30 pm and cursed me very rudely.

Submitted My Request 2x, Got Rejected 2x Without Any Information of Rejection Reason
Not sure abt how the company operates, but after registered via their website and pay for £130, and agreed to term that they will deducted 12% as service charge before refunding my money if they cant help w my request, I got rejected and money was refunded £115 without any confirmation of why did they rejected my request. They even asked me to RECONFIRM my request upon receiving my money, like why? Redundant much, no?
You should really fix or improve your flow here. You have both my email and phone number, so upon receiving monety you should send me a confirmation message, and in case of rejection you should still send me confirmation message/email as to why you cant help me. I tried to submitted my request twice, got rejected twice, and got deducted twice because there were no communication at all.

Many of you might get the same problem.
If you order from this place, they might cancel your booking immediately and tell you that we will charge administration fee and rest will refunded.
Then if you put a review regarding bad experience, they will contact you back saying that we’ll refund the money.
Once you see the refund you will remove the review Ofcourse.
But then they claim the money from the bank as dispute.
At the end of the day, the customer is the looser.
I believe customers deserves clear communication and transparency regarding financial transactions. I will be going on all the platforms to express my dissatisfaction.
Dear people , please avoid then for your own sake.

Awful! I was trying to find someone for my daughter today for her upcoming driving test. Awful customer service! I mean really awful, so so rude, very unprofessional. I recall the guy on the phone saying "no one is here to speak to for four hours to explain how it works". All they want is the money upfront, even before you can find out what type of car they provide.....In the end I got a text from him saying "Sorry time is expired is coming up to Christmas you will be lucky if anyone helps you".

I really appreciate test car hire that they have arranged me test car and instructor at the last moment. Their instructors are well trained to give last minute tips . I am so happy that I have cleared it in first attempt. All thanks to my instructor and test car for arranging me that.
