Lack of respect for teachers
The students are amazing, and the work is really enjoyable and rewarding! You get to work from home, too!
The downside is that management do not respect the teaching staff. They cut all teachers pay retrospectively, try to change parts of your contract without your knowledge or consent, and have no loyalty to teachers who have been with the company for many years.
This has resulted in almost all of the good quality teachers leaving, and a load of new teachers being hired. I feel bad for the new teachers as they are being offered $5.50 USD a slot (everybody else is on $7-8).
When I began teaching with Landi, they advertised up to $26 an hour. While in reality, this was rarely the case, I personally was earning about $21 an hour. Nowadays, they advertise up to $18, but in reality people are barely earning half of that!
What's worse is that Landi are pushing teachers to refer more teachers. How can any serious teacher refer people to a company that thinks so low of their staff, and pays them such a terrible rate?
Luckily, I have found that there are lots of alternatives to Landi. Most of which offer fair wages, and actually listen to, and respect, their teachers.
