Been trying for 3 months to get my lean release, you can't go to a TD bank to get it they say they will mail it but it never comes, the MVC says that they can fax or email it but they won't do it.

Terrible company to deal with , you call to work out a payment etc they never work with you , even if youve been on good standing
They take payments on wrong days but blame their customers.....
Overall a terrible experience with them!

Horrible company to deal with. Charged us an extra payment when the car was paid off already. Couldn't process the refund for 4 months. Customer rep, Miguel, refused to provide his full name nor employee id number, refused transferring call to his supervisor, and locked the account. Nightmare!

I needed to pay off my loan. I refinanced my truck with a credit union who mailed off the check to TD. TD financial is dragging their feet in processing the payment. I called twice and during one of those calls I spoke to Nevina. She was extremely rude and would not do anything to help me and my situation. I simply asked her if she could get the check that was delivered and start the process to get it posted to my account. She would not. I would not ever use this company for financing ever again.

THEY APPARENTLY ONLY USE TRANSUNION FOR RESEARCH, AND AS A RESULT THEY MISS OUT ON A LOT OF DATA. SINCE TRANSUNION IS BLOCKED BY COURT ORDER FROM REPORTING ON SOME PEOPLE, THE REPORTS ARE NOT ADEQUATE FOR DECISION MAKING.

The staff at TD Bank Auto Finance Title department are very incompetent, and the Manager at the resolution department was very rude and hanged up on me. Three times in six months, I purchased vehicles utilizing dealer financing to obtain a low price, and the incompetents at TD sent out unnotarized Lien release. Avoid TD Auto finance.

If I could give a zero I would. Purchased a car in 2022. Paid it off 3/2026. Was told I would have the release of lien in 10 business days. Have sent numerous emails only responded to 4 of them. Called on the 10th business day and the representative was extremely rude. Sent an email on the 11th business day that I would be reaching out to my attorney, Better Business Bureau, NYS Department of Finance. The next day I went to a TD Bank branch and the customer service rep. at the bank reached out to try and help me with this matter. On the 12th business day they sent NYS DMV the electronic release of lien. NYS requires release of lien be sent 3 days after cleared final payment. They didn't even do the electronic release to DMV until they knew I was reaching out to multiple agencies and my attorney. I want to trade this car in but dealer needs release of lien (wet signature). I lost out on the March incentives and interest rate and every day I have this car the value depreciates. I sent the a copy of a Demand for Release of Lien via email today. Hoping they respond to my last email and have decided to overnight the paperwork so I don't have to spend more unnecessary money to get this situation rectified. I offered to pay to have it expedited and overnighted. At this point they should overnight it at their expense as a show of good faith. The dealer isn't going to hold the car for me until DMV send out a new clean title. TD Auto Finance please overnight my Release of Lien so I can drive my new car home.

My mother bought a car 2 years ago and financed with TD Auto Finance. She is now unable to drive and we need to sell the car. All we wanted to do was get the balance owing. My mother is 83 and hard of hearing even with her hearring aids in. She asked the man on the line if he could just speak to me. No. they would not do that. Never had that issue before. She was so frustrated and upset by the end of the call. Thanks TD for having consideration for you older clientele.

This company are gangsters. Look at all the 1 star ratings. They received my extended warranty prorated refund in the amount of $7k and kept it. Then ignored my attempts to collect. I even confirmed the disbursement from the warranty company and they still denied it.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
and warn your friends to do the same

I regret ever dealing with TD Auto Finance. In my experience, their customer service has been very poor—representatives were often rude and unhelpful, and it felt like they didn’t have the information needed to properly assist me.
Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering auto financing to think twice before choosing them. I would not recommend their services.

They messed up my credit so bad. Tried to get a new car and a 1 cent mistyped entry screwed me.
Try getting someone to talk to. Thats a NEVER.
Ended up in repossession after an illness and they should have offered me a deferral, BUT DID NOT. NOT ONCE. Now coming to me for the remainder of my loan?
YOU HAVE THE CAR, YOU UNDERSOLD. With a deferral? Id have been paying the car payments again by now. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER BUISNESS. Great for the DEALERS though. SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID TD.

I financed a car with them and traded it in about 6 or 7 months later. I purchased an extended service contract which when I traded it in I provided the documentation to get a refund of the unused part of the extended warranty.This is the 6th of March and I started the claim last November 2025 and now its almost headed to mid March.They keep telling me I will get it within the next 30 days. This is rediculous. If you finance you car with these people watch out. I am not bashing a business here but if they wanted money they would want it right now. The refund money had to be sent by the dealer first and they held it for 10 days on this finance institution. the whole deal is garbage as far as I am concerned. I asked the check be sent on overnight or something and they said I have to have an account with UPS. So TDAuto finance I would like my money please.I am not bashing this company at all I just don't think it should take almost 4 months to get my money refunded. Now it's not their money i's mine.

I can never make a payment on my account , i try to log in and it wont let me , it wont let me do nothing , I call the customer service number and it hangs up , Now i have to be late with my payment , cant even set up for suto payment

I fully paid off my car with TD finance on july/2025 then I cancelled my warranty and gap on September 12/2025 In February 2nd /2026 TD Fianance received my warranty check from GM financial services and TD finance they said we well keep the check over 21 business days until we well released for you and send it by mail ,,,, its so unprofessional business to work with and i wont suggest any one to believe and work with TD financial , i am so frustrated to work with them and well be the last time

I spoke to Jerry 2950 and needed some basic information; Jerry was the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere. I really want someone to listen to the conversation on 02/21/26 at about 3:15pm. She was extremely unprofessional, laughing, and could care less

Literally the crappiest company. Apparently you can't pay off the vehicle over the phone even though one representative stated I could. Then, when they needed verification of account holder instead of a consigner, you aren't allowed to create a conference call. She didn't tell me that and after waiting 30 minutes to speak to her, she hung up. I then had to call back and wait another 30 minutes just to find out that "we don't accept conference calls" and "you can't pay off the vehicle over the phone". Terrible company, terrible customer support. Avoid this place like the plague because that's exactly what they are.

TD Auto Finance is a textbook example of how not to treat customers.

I paid off my vehicle 8 months ago and never received my title. That alone is unacceptable. The situation became even worse after my vehicle was totaled in an accident, when I urgently needed a payoff letter to obtain a duplicate title from my state.

I have now been trying to get this payoff letter for over two weeks. I was told it would take 7–10 business days just to mail a simple letter. In 2026. Absolutely ridiculous. As of today, I still have nothing.

Their delays have directly interfered with my insurance claim and created unnecessary stress and financial risk. If I had missed a payment, TD Auto Finance would have acted immediately. When the customer needs help? Silence, excuses, and stonewalling.

This is not a one-off issue. Anyone reading reviews can see a pattern of incompetence and indifference. The volume of 1-star reviews speaks for itself.

If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, do not finance through TD Auto Finance. Once they have your loan, you are on your own.

In the Banking world, they are a complete joke. Every negative comment on the reviews are 100% accurate. Worst possible customer service, terrible website. They must give a huge rebate to the Dealerships, because customers would never use them

Terrible experience and still unresolved. I paid off my loan it never went through they told me to try it again and then they doubled the money they took out of my account. Which was $40,000. I did not have that much money in my bank account and now I am in arrears and all my money is Frozen and they will not respond to me. I'd rather ride a bicycle then get another loan from this company

This company is a total farse! They financed my car for over a year. Boy, when it's time to pay- you better pay! But once you have paid off the note and they owe you a warranty from a third party, they not only TAKE THEIR TIME, BUT THEY DON'T LET YOU SEE THE ORIGINAL CHECK FROM THE THIRD PARTY. I was told that it was a $4,400 refund, however, I got a mere $3,100 after waiting for 2 months, I called and called. They are extremely rude, they talk down to you, and they take their sweet time with your money while it sits in an account earning interest that they will keep, not give to you. I took a screenshot of the check, I was treated poorly. Also, I was told that the amount was $4400 by THEM and then received only $3,100. Do not trust them.
