I have used Tax2efile for the past three years and have never had an issue, but this year the service fell short.
For the tax year 2025, I sent the files for the 1099's over on January 7th, 2026. On the 14th I got an email saying the files were ready to be processed and submit to the IRS, just let them know when I was ready to pay so they could send me the payment link, which I responded to the email, yes, send me the link. By the 19th of January, I still have not received a link to make the payment, so I called and they said the computers were down and could not send out the invoices.
On January 28th I got an email saying they finally sent out the payment link, which I made the payment that day. On Feb 3rd they submitted the 1099NEC's and on Feb 9th the 1099-MISC. I thought the deadline to send out 1099's was January 31st, so I feel that they should have done this a little quicker. I also paid for the premium service, where they file and mail out the 1099's, but I had at least 10 independent contractors call me saying they never received their hard copy in the mail, so I had to send them a copy of the pdf.
I think it would be helpful if the payment link was already in the email notifying me that the files have been processed and ready to send to the IRS. I could just click it and make my payment instead of having to respond and wait for another email.
