We used Tanzania Odyssey to book our honeymoon and the trip exceeded all expectations. They booked us two andBeyond properties and we were delighted with both the Serengeti Under Canvas, as well as Mnemba Island. Dave at Tanzania Odyssey took great care in crafting an amazing trip for us that was perfect.

Tanzania odyssey arranged our trip to the Serengeti. At their advice, we stayed at three Nomad camps, two mobile and one permanent. This gave us a better chance to see the migration- and we did at two of the camps. Chatting with some folks at the airport upon our return, they said they had a great time but did not see the migration. So we were very glad we took their advice. The camps were great, service excellent and our guide (who we asked if he could be with us at all 3 camps,and Nomad agreed) was phenomenal. All small planes were on time and camp (nomad) representatives were always there to meet and greet us. One of, if not the, best vacation ever.

We have used Tanzania Odyssey on two occasions to book game reserve trips in Tanzania. On both occasions, the first 10 years ago, our trips have proceeded flawlessly. The staff are responsive to queries and know their business well. We had a late change when SAA cancelled a flight, but alternative arrangements were effected in short time to accommodate.
No qualms in recommending them.

Brother and I (we are Scottish) decided on a really last minute trip to Tanzania. (2 weeks in advance!) Been to Africa 16 times. Came across Tanzania Odyssee - who we had never used before. They were by far the most efficient African travel company that we have ever used. Indeed this is othe only positive review I have ever written. Absolutely on the ball. If the person you first spoke to isn't in when youi phone in o problem - they must keep great on-screen records as each of the guys (there may be galls - we just didn't speak to any!) was 100% up to speed on the job. Arrangments made fast. Perfect. However - perhaps the biggest issue as it turned out.....we had on-site problems with two camps. Sorted out at the time, and nothing at all to do with Tanzania Odyssey. It was out of their control. When we got back we explained what had happened. Three to-and-fros - and it was all sorted out within a week. Bingo. They were dynamic at sorting it - and they absolutely were looking after me the client and not the provider. . No one has really ever done that for us before. So 10 out of 10 for Tanzania Odyssey. Numero uno! From begining to end. Ted Black

Tanzania Odyssey work with selected camps with clear guidelines as to what to expect in terms of the safari experience and camp comforts and amenities. You can choose high end comfort or, as we prefer, a more basic 'authentic safari in the African bush' experience. It depends on your preference and, it must be said, your budget. But all the camps - so far we have been to three - are delightful. We also found that T.O. continue their support while you are actually in Africa, they do not just send you off and you hear nothing again until your return. A small anecdote - my wife and I were in Zanzibar a couple of years ago putting in some serious pool-time ahead our return flight via Nairobi. However a major fire at Nairobi Airport caused tremendous disruption. Throughout, Dave in the T.O. office was in touch with us via our hotel to advise on the latest situation and offer guidance. It was still a pretty chaotic experience but we didn't feel we'd been left to sort it out on our own. After using their services for two trips to Africa we are now considering a trip to India and I would not hesitate to use their sister company. I recommend unreservedly.

This was one of the best trips I've done with my family in many years. As very experienced travelers and climbers I liked that George from Tanzania Odyssey worked with me upfront to customize our trip to our needs and interests and we went through many iterations until we got it right. He really listened to us and I know that made a huge difference in the quality of our trip.
During our 3 weeks of climbing, safari and touring around Rwanda and Tanzania we had excellent guides, always knowledgeable and friendly. We stayed in wonderful lodges that suited our travel style, and had amazing adventures and fun on every day.
That said, our trip was always super relaxed, the transfers and logistics were seamless and there were few surprises.

I am so grateful that I followed my instincts to work with George Hannan at Tanzania Odyssey. I spoke with a number of people and my gut was that this agency was the best. I have looked forward to this trip my whole life and it was so beyond perfect! The logistics were flawless, my experiences beyond my wildest dreams and expectations and George's expertise in planning was obvious, both during the trip and looking back on it afterward. Several people I met on my journey also commented on the planning expertise. George listened, never pushed, and guided brilliantly. I started in the Selous and worked my way north, ending the Tanzania visit in the Serengeti with the migrating herds. I then continued on, ending my visit with gorilla treks in Rwanda. The entire journey was spectacular. Each lodge and camp had its own magic. It was so hard to say goodbye to each one. I am so grateful to have planned my trip with Tanzania Odyssey and I look forward to future plans as well. I am in love with Africa. All the more because you helped to make it so spectacular. I can't wait to send you a few select photos!

We had the most amazing holiday in our life time. Siwandu experience exceeded our expectations, from accommodation, game viewing and excellent guides, excellent food, friendly hosts and efficient staff and delightful surprises. Our experience from this place is 5*, everything was perfect. Highlights were a served hot and cold breakfast in the bush, by the lake, with a chef and a waiter, sighting of the rare wild dogs, a group of elephants passing through and stopping 2-3 feet away from our car, being able to see two sets of lions on the same day. The best finale of our trip was seeing a huge, the tallest and biggest rainbow we have ever seen, just right before our eyes, with all the colours clearly defined and driving through the arch was magical!! And as we headed back to the camp, a beautiful full moon slowly coming up on the horizon and over the trees appeared as darkness sets in.

Our stay at the Green & Blue Ocean Beach resort was also excellent. Loved the garden and the flowers, the beach view from the restaurant and from the infinity pool were just amazing. Food was also superb! The lunch and dinner menus change every day. They also offer Swahili dish on their menus everyday (both lunch and dinner are different) which was fantastic. Enjoyed watching the village life on the beach: the local fishermen bringing back their ‘catch of the day’ to a nearby fish market, mending boats, cows being chased by playful children in their colourful clothes, boys playing football, and all the different boats, big and small passing through.

Both our safari and beach holiday were exceptional, from start to finish. We were very happy, indeed! A special and big thank you to George and the whole team of African Odyssey who patiently and kindly organised both and made our best holiday ever. We will recommend it to everyone. We all said "it's just once in a lifetime experience and trip" but having said that, who knows we might go back again, God willing.

I could not have done this trip without them. They have a lot of expertise in this area and made a lot of excellent suggestions and recommendations from accommodations to flight scheduling. Everything went without a hitch and we had the trip of a lifetime which we will never forget.

Our travel consultant, Dave, was very pleasant and helpful and gave us useful advice to give us exactly the holiday we wanted. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were planning our honeymoon and decided to do a safari with a few days at the beach to relax at the end. I reached out to Tanzania Odyssey (TO) as well as about 15 other companies to compare options and ultimately in the end I chose TO because of the excellent service and expertise they demonstrated.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom at Tanzania Odyssey and couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received. Tom was extremely responsive, very knowledgeable and answered every question I had (which were many, and in the end, a deciding factor when choosing between all the companies I chatted with).

We ended up staying at 2 locations within the Serengeti (Kleins and Under Canvas), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and Zanzibar (Mnemba Island) using &Beyond for our accommodations. We were initially going to mix up the companies but in the end decided to stay with &Beyond as they offered a nice honeymoon price and was in line with what we were looking for experience wise.

All locations were magnificent, very well appointed and service was top notch. Highly recommend Mnemba Island to anyone looking for a private island experience.

Ultimately, the trip was one of the most amazing trips we have been on and everything went perfect without any issues all due to Tom and the team over at TO. All accommodations and internal flights were arranged by TO, we were greeted at all the airstrips by representatives which were arranged by TO. They took care of every detail and it showed, never had a trip go as smoothly as this one.

Highly recommend working with Tanzania Odyssey, had a great experience and would definitely use them again.

Firstly, sorry for the late review (holiday was October last year!). I don't usually leave reviews but I really had to this time, even if it is 9 months late!

My boyfriend and I had saved up to do a really special holiday and had spent months procrastinating over the planning. All I wanted was to see lions (after having been on several safaris and missed out every time) but I was aimlessly searching for the best country and time of year to go and not making any progress. We live in Nigeria where the phone networks are bad, so I'd sent loads of emails to other agents asking for information but nothing we received back got us very excited,

One day I stumbled upon the African Odyssey website and started an online chat with Ed, who within 5 minutes had hit the nail on the head and sent me my dream itinerary. He knew what I wanted even though I didn't!

The brief I gave him was lions, luxury safari, beach time at the end (but not Zanaibar as I'd already been), Sep/ Oct time. We ended up with almost 2 weeks in total doing safaris in Ruaha (Mwagusi camp) and Selous (Siwandu camp) and then finishing up on Fanjove private island. The trip was absolutely amazing, I saw my lions and even after returning to work I was walking on air for weeks, something I can't say has ever happened before!

Everyone at African Odyssey was so helpful. They went out of their way to assist me and Ed was fantastic at judging exactly what I was after and answering my countless questions. When Ed wasn't available someone else stepped in and knew exactly who I was and was able to help immediately.

When I got nervous about the final cost of the trip Ed was very patient and even helped me look at other options. But in the end I'm so glad we just went for the places we loved and didn't try to shave off £1,000 to justify booking. It was by far the most money we'd ever spent on a holiday but it was without a doubt worth every single penny.

And as someone who struggles to make a decision without researching every available option until I'm blue in the face, I can honestly say that I wouldn't bother researching other travel agents next time we want to do a trip. African Odyssey really know their stuff and their personalised approach gave me total confidence that I was going to get the holiday I wanted. In fact, I'm talking to them now about the next holiday!

Tanzania Odyssey was amazing.
When I was first planning our safari, I had lots of questions, naturally. I had narrowed down our choice of outfitters to 3 or 4, and was e-mailing them with questions. Since I was contacting these different outfitters, it would seem axiomatic that I was already interested in what the had to offer. Nevertheless, all of the others replied via what seemed like a canned e-mail, with a few sentences touching on my questions tacked on. Only Tanzania Odyssey answered my questions in a straightforward manner without trying to do a sales job--so they were easily the outfitter I chose.

Once I started working with them, Dave Fuller to be precise, the experience only got better. Dave continued to answer all my questions, no matter how silly they must've seemed to someone like him whose been on dozens of safaris. He was able to give me comparisons about the different camps, recommendations on parks to go and routes to choose, and discussed the pros and cons of doing the Northern Circuit as opposed to the Southern Circuit. He also recommended a few days in Zanzibar to unwind after the safari, which was turned out to be genius!

As to the safari itself, everything went flawlessly. There were people to greet us at the airports/airstrips; drivers were always on time and where they were supposed to be; all of our reservations were perfect, and Dave even remembered that I had mentioned my wife and I were going on safari to celebrate a milestone anniversary and a milestone birthday for her, and two of the camps did special things for us! (I had forgotten I even told Dave that, so I was surprised too!) The reservations being correct were especially important, because we encountered a couple on our trip whose reservations had not been handled correctly, and they ended up being deprived of 2 or 3 nights and one of our favorite camps, Sayari Camp.

I recommend Dave Fuller and Tanzania Odyssey (aka Africa Odyssey) unreservedly and without qualification, and cannot say enough good things about them!

Thank you so much for planning an absolutely amazing honeymoon in Tanzania for us! The nature and animals which we saw were spectacular, the service was impeccable and the accommodations were top notch. The weather in September was perfect. We were amazed by the abundance and variety of animals. We were surprised how often we would see so many different species together at the same time. We were thrilled by our incredible luck to witness the great wildebeest migration and even a river crossing! It was just like a National Geographic documentary! The accommodations and service were impeccable. We never needed to look at the itinerary once because we were always promptly met and guided through our adventure by a friendly, well informed guide. The accommodations were breathtaking and the food was gourmet – how they created five star quality meals in a tent in the middle of the Serengeti is simply amazing. Your knowledgeable recommendations and guidance for our trip was more than we had hoped for. Thank you for making our honeymoon an unforgettable experience of a lifetime!

I was struggling to book our African holiday from Oz through local agents, they had quoted exorbitant prices and appeared to have little knowledge of the remote Southern Tanzania camps that we wanted to visit. I happened to notice the Tanzania Odyssey website was open to chat, and sent through a quick enquiry late one night. It all happened after that! Within an hour I had quotes at the prices I was expecting, Ed even phoned me from London late that night to discuss what I wanted from the safari. The itinerary was arranged by the next day, and a few booking hitches were resolved effortlessly. It seemed too good to be true, but the final itinerary and plans arrived on the day they were expected, and everything looked well organised. It turned out to be better than expected, everything from start to finish ran smoothly and exactly as planned, a fair feat bearing in mind this was Africa and we were travelling fairly remote with numerous small plane trips and 3 different camps! I would highly recommend organising an African trip with Tanzania Odyssey, and was not surprised to find our view on this company was shared by a number of fellow travellers we met at different camps. I will definitely book our next African trip through them!
