I had a great experience with Switch Car Rental from start to finish.
The staff were incredibly polite, professional, and genuinely focused on helping the customer. When a small issue came up during the process, it was dealt with promptly and efficiently, making sure I could get better than expected. That level of customer service really stood out.
Both the collection and return of the car were quick and hassle-free. I especially appreciated the return process; there was no excessive scrutiny or trying to find tiny, unnoticeable marks on the vehicle. The inspection was fair, straightforward, and completed within minutes, which gave me a lot of confidence in the company.
The car was clean, well-presented, and exactly what I needed. Overall, the whole experience was smooth, transparent, and stress-free.
I'd definitely use Switch Car Rental again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for reliable service and friendly, customer-focused staff.

The staff there are unprofessional the booking .com did not advise a 500 pound deposit when asked for the number to complain they gave me the wrong number they refused to provide there names they were extremely rude on the phone and in person

Switch Swansea
Gave me a completely inappropriate car as a hire car while mine is in for repair. Several times I’ve specified it needed to be high enough I didn’t need to push myself out of the vehicle and yet they provided one which has now caused a partial dislocation of a joint. Topping that off with horrendous bucket style seats which are hards ask rocks and forced extreme pressure against my joints making it even harder to get out of the vehicle.
The break system on this vehicle is horrendous. I drove to my local Tesco and you have to pretty much stamp on the brakes to actually get it to brake.
The vehicle also had been keyed prior to it being given to me. I reported it on the day. I was told it was nothing. I’ve also noticed that it’s not been cleaned as I’ve found the previous users rubbish and detritus within the vehicle.
I suggest you either replace the vehicle or come and collect it. I’ve now missed an entire weekend of work due to the sheer stupidity of this situation.
I’ll be calling motability first thing Monday morning alongside an email.

Really helpful on collection. Lack of customer wifi access caused issues. As my passport was out of date I needed to provide utility statements. Laura was amazingly helpful and patient.
Was given much nicer/better car than I was expecting.
On returning the car Laura was just as efficient and helpful arranging for another member of staff to drop me off at bus stop to get home. Thank you again.

Warning all, Stay away and save £100s
Warning all people they will charge you for damages after every single hire. As a test we hire one that they parked on the drive and it didnt move for the duration of the hire and yet they still found damage. These guys are fraudulently claiming against customer keep away. Unless you want the cost to be hire price plus the insurance excess every time. Stay away, keep away.

Ignored Their Own Published Rental Policy
I booked and paid for a rental car well in advance and arrived at the Bournemouth branch with my wife, three children and a considerable amount of luggage, expecting a straightforward collection. Instead, the experience quickly turned into one of the most disappointing customer service encounters I have had.
The representative appeared determined to refuse the rental from the outset. Although I had all the documentation required by the company’s own published policy—including a valid driving licence, credit card and travel documents—he showed no interest in listening or even looking at the policy I was trying to reference.
Rather than consulting a manager or a colleague with greater authority, he briefly spoke to security and returned claiming that security also agreed the vehicle should not be rented. It was a bizarre way to resolve what should have been a simple customer service question.
What disappointed me most was not the decision itself but the complete unwillingness to engage in a reasonable conversation or consider the company’s own published rules. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and to have their concerns properly considered.
Thankfully, I was eventually able to resolve the situation elsewhere, but the stress and disruption to my family holiday were entirely unnecessary. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Would not use them again
Poor service did not deliver when they were supposed to, made no contact I had to keep chasing. I only got a on the date it was booked by my insurance company vehicle when I asked to speak to a manager. Vehicle was eventually delivered at 6.30pm in an absolutely disgusting & dirty condition it even had clumps on hair on the drivers floor mat. The guy that dropped it off said he was told to collect it & drop it straight to me. I had to take it to the car wash & when I rang switch to explain & told them that I had also videoed the vehicle when the driver dropped it off they told me that they could not reimburse me for having it cleaned because they do not have the facilities to do so.

Never again.
I contacted Switch Salisbury directly to rent a car for one day. I was informed that none were available. I then checked Switch availability online with Booking.com. Booking.com confirmed my booking. I then called Switch Salisbury to confirm that a car was indeed available. A member of staff seemed annoyed that they would now have to bring in a car from another Switch location. I had to ask repeatedly if a car would be available. She reluctantly agreed that there would be one. She then informed me that I would need to bring in a bank statement and utility bill on picking up the car. At no point was I informed that it was to confirm my personal details but sounded very much that my credit worthiness / solvency was being assessed. This is extremely poor customer service. It seems I am not the only one who is extremely disappointed by the manner in which I was treated. I will not be using Switch again.

I hired an automatic Hybrid car for two days and sorting out the paperwork was straight forward (just remember to bring everything you need) from filling out forms to the ID check in. The staff in Taunton are very helpful and assist you through all the steps of your rental.
