Mike and Cory did a fantastic job at…

Mike and Cory did a fantastic job at such a great price. They moved me from Sale to Urmston and packed everything too. They kept me updated with timelines and then they set up all the furniture at the flat and quickly unloaded the van. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

A dining chair was irreparably damaged

A dining chair was irreparably damaged. At first they tried to say it had been like that before even though the driver had pointed out the damage & taken a photo for the office. They eventually admitted responsibility & said it would be replaced like for like. Multiple phone calls & 3 months later this hasn’t happened.

Save yourself the stress and avoid this company

Save yourself the stress and avoid this company! We were held to ransom for extortionate extra charges on the removal day and items were damaged due to bad packing.

Sadly, our experience echos the previous bad reviews which we should have listened to. We even queried the bad reviews with the manager, Louise before booking them and she suggested that these reviews were inaccurate and untrue but we ended up experiencing the same problems.

Credit where it’s due - the removal men were great on the day. The bad review is purely for the poor management.

We had a video call with Louise who following the call gave us a quote for packing and moving. She did tell us if the moving runs over the time quoted such as if the van was stuck in traffic then we would be charged an hourly rate of £125. We didn’t mind paying a bit more than quoted if necessary but we expected that the quote provided based on her experience would be largely accurate which unfortunately was not the case. Firstly, the packers that came the day before the removal day ran out of time to finish packing our 2 bed house. They also ran out of boxes provided by the company. We were told the removal men would come early the next morning to finish packing and will bring extra boxes. We expressed to Louise that we need to leave our house by a specific time to hand over keys/pick up keys to our new house and we were assured that there would be enough time the following day to finish packing and load the van.

One of the packers also smashed a sentimental Fortnum & Mason teapot which Louise said they would replace (spoiler - they never did). The next morning, the removal men arrived to finish the packing but we ended up helping with the packing ourselves as we were running out of time as it was approx a 2.5 hour drive to the new house and we also had a small baby so couldn’t arrive at the new house too late in the day. Plus, the estate agents we were going to collect the keys from were closing so we could end up homeless that night with the baby. Thankfully, the agent had agreed to leave the key under a flower pot by the door but this wasn’t ideal.

The removal men eventually realised on the day that the one van Louise thought was enough wasn’t. This was communicated with Louise and eventually a second van came but at the cost of an extra £500 (which we already negotiated the price down to as they tried to charge us more). We had no choice but to agree to this otherwise we wouldn’t be able to move. The time waiting for the second van to arrive and get loaded meant that we left the house 4 hours behind schedule and didn’t arrive at our new house until past 7pm.

Whilst we were still driving over to the new house Louise told us that we had gone over the time quoted and we were going to be charged an extra £312.50 for 1.5 extra hours for the first van and 1 extra hour for the second van (this is on top of the £500 we had to pay for the second van). The traffic and travel time was as expected so the extra time we had to pay for was not as a result of that. Again, we were held to ransom as they had all of our belongings so we had no choice to pay this. We said we would transfer the funds when we arrived at the new house as we were still driving but we were pressured to pay straightaway so not much compassion there considering all the hiccups on their part to date.

We had paid for a disassemble, packing and reassemble service but as we were getting charged the additional hourly rate we ended up having to ask them to leave the reassembly on the other side and do it ourselves so we paid £812.50 on top of the original quote, had to pack a lot ourselves, had a stressful move, then had to reassemble furniture ourself too even though the packing and reassembly should have been included in the original quote.

When we started unpacking we discovered that other items had been damaged in addition to the teapot including a dented air fryer, broken cabinet and broken wardrobe. We were promised by Louise that they were sending out a new teapot out to us and we have chased many times over the past 3 months but still nothing. We appreciate that mistakes can be made and we were more than reasonable in giving them 3 months to rectify (just replacing the sentimental teapot, we didn’t even make a fuss of the other broken items) but it is obvious now that they never intended to send out a replacement and have just been fobbing us off.

In conclusion, very inaccurate quoting as to how long packing will take, how many boxes are needed and how many vans are needed, expect to pay hundreds of £ extra on the day and if you have any complaints, don’t expect these to be resolved!

Definitely a company to avoid!

Definitely a company to avoid using! Their business practices are very suspect. They charge an competitive flat rate, followed by an expensive hourly rate. Don’t be caught out by this. It will cost you very very dear! Added to this, they damaged my furniture during the removal process. Six weeks later I am still waiting to hear from the manager about my compensation claim. My only option now is to go to Trading Standards.

The removal day was a nightmare. They were an hour late, the van sent was not big enough for a two bedroom flat move, and the removal team lacked any common sense. They left my dining table, and 2 x chest of drawers behind, and focussed instead on removing storage boxes. I had to get a friend to help me move the remaining items otherwise it would have cost me even more!

The removal team went missing for a two hour period after they’d loaded up my possessions and then were uncontactable. I think this was just so they could charge me the expensive hourly surcharge. When they did eventually arrive at the new house, they operated a go slow, moving one box at a time. What then happens is that Jessica in the office threatens to take your possessions back to the storage place, unless you pay SwiftMove’s extortionate surcharge.

I put a complaint in and was told by Jessica that it was going to be passed over to a manager to deal with. That was six weeks ago. The company no longer appears to be contactable by mobile, landline or email – or at least I can never get a response!
This ended up being a very expense move, the customer service was shocking, and they damage your furniture. I suspect they don’t have any damage insurance in place. DEFINITITELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

VERY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE AND BADLY MANAGED

VERY DISAPPOINTING UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE
I used these in July for a long distance move.
The guys turned up on time ' however the van was not big enough for a full 2 bed flat move. Jessica the 'manager!! Stated she been doing the job long enough to know what size van we should need..refusing to agree of me taking a short video to show her the flat contents.
There's additional cost for bubble wrap.. was not told this at the time of booking.
The 18yr was seemingly in charge' not the older person who was the driver.
I have to say the 18yr worked damn hard' and this company did not pay him due to our complaint of damaged goods!! I have never known such poor sevice in all my life it ..Disgusting.
We had to get a different company to remove the remaining furniture on a different day at further costs to us.
Items were damaged' this was not taken seriously. I put a complaint in' and was told it was going to be passed over to a manager to deal with this was 8 weeks ago.
It's an absolute joke.
We paid over the odds of a service
they did not fulfil and are still waiting to hear back from them and I won't be holding my breath.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM PURELY DUE TO POOR MANAGEMENT.

The 1 star is for the young lad who worked extremely hard.

5 Stars for these guys

So we chose this company because I was in hospital with a lady who highly recommended them.. I have been using companies for over 9 years and they have been great and not so great but these guys have been superb, we had a removal chap called Mark and he was so professional he knew what needed doing and between them we were sorted in no time, I don't have anything negative to say about these guys so if you need a really good removal company these are great.

The movers were super helpful and…

The movers were super helpful and generally lovely people.
The logistics of organising it all with customer service was incredible easy and straightforward. I will definitely be using them again and recommending to anyone in the area that needs movers. Glad to have finally found a reliable company I can keep going back to.

Great company

From the first call to our belongings taken into our new home swiftmoves were excellent. They made what I thought was going to be the most stressful part of our move to another part of the UK both quick and painless and the price genuinely couldn't be beaten, they gave us the lowest quote. Office communication great, the moving guys exceptional. Highly recommended.

Strong and capable

The lads that were sent from this company were absolutely spot on. There was a man called Cain who worked so hard all da, it was as though he was moving stuff into his own house.

The strength and motivation during a very long day, was amazing.

Couldn’t have asked for more, would defo recommend.

The only thing I would say is, you will need to prepare to purchase extra hours, (if you are expecting it to happen in 4), but I knew this ahead of time and was happy with the price quoted.

My experience with this Company was outstanding. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, their team demonstrated professionalism and efficiency. They carefully packed my belongings, ensuring that fragile items were securely protected. On moving day, the team arrived on time and worked diligently, handling my furniture and boxes with great care.

Throughout the process, their customer service was excellent. They promptly addressed any concerns I had and kept me informed at every stage of the move. A specific instance that stood out was when they had to navigate a narrow staircase with a large piece of furniture. Their problem-solving skills and teamwork were impressive, ensuring the item was moved without any damage.
