Most of our Belongings STOLEN

Unfortunately our unit- along with several others- was burglarized and the staff was not apologetic or helpful in any way. They told us that most of the cameras on the property are either broken, not in use, or too poor of quality to be helpful. They allowed the security footage that WAS available to be recorded over even though they were told the police would need to review it. It's almost laughable how easy it evidently is to steal thousands of dollars worth of items from Storage King locations.

From the start, the staff has been nothing but uncooperative, hostile & even aggressive... and to add insult to injury, they accused us of lying about the theft (even though, as I mentioned, other units were also burglarized). Not only did they NOT help- they actually did things to hinder the investigation and threatened us not to tell anyone about this. They do not try to fix their mistakes- they only try to cover over them and bully anyone who gets in their way.

Would recommend using ANY other storage facility over Storage King. Would recommend leaving your stuff out on a street corner over using Storage King. DO NOT EVER rent here if you value your belongings. There are NO policies in place to protect you or your property. It feels like one big scam. Trust me- there are better, safer, more honest & transparent storage companies. RENT ELSEWHERE.

It has been a nightmare, dealing with this company. I have never seen such an atrocious lack of customer service in my entire life. Storage King could at least PRETEND to care. How difficult would it have been for any one of these people to figure out how to offer an apology or show the slightest sliver of compassion for our loss?!? There has been NONE. This company (from these employees-of-the-month all the way up to corporate, which of course has neglected to respond to any of our emails) very clearly does not care about people AT ALL($$$)- and IT IS APPALLING.

It's been bad enough having someone break into our supposedly 'secure' space and steal our personal property... but dealing with your unprofessional, disrespectful, dishonest, sketchy, incompetent, insanely RUDE staff has honestly been the most upsetting part of all, Storage King. Shame on you if this is how you train your employees- if this is your standard of 'service' and security. SHAME. ON. YOU. These individuals are representatives of your business. Their inexcusable attitudes & behaviors are a reflection on you. Reading through countless other online complaints & unresolved Better Business Bureau cases, it's apparent this is a common Storage King thread. Is this really the reputation you want?

This is not how you run a business. This is how you GO OUT of business. And you are definitely on your way.

Not even 1 star at this point

Not even 1 star at this point. I received notice that my rent was not paid. I sent evidence that their check had been cashed and was told it was resolved. Tried to access unit later and found we were still locked out. Went to manager and was told HQ didn't like the document I provided and wanted something else??? Why wasn't I called?? I sent a bank statement and still no contact. We went to unit and were still locked out. I talked to on-site person they were totally unknowledgable and were supposed to have contacted their main office. Still nothing. Then got another late notice. This has been going on for over a month with no indication that anyone has the ability to resolve this matter.

I'm giving two Thumbs Up, plus 5 Gold Stars for Storage King USA in Aurora, Ohio. I'm renting storage units at Storage King USA, because it was easy to book online, the pricing is competitive, it has 24 hour security and the best part is the professionalism of the Property Manager, Justine. Her experience and computer knowledge is off the charts. Justine is competent, especially when she is multi-tasking. If you are looking for an expert with knowledge in every aspect of a storage facility, ask for Justine.

Another Satisfied Customer!

Staff is helpful, shed was clean, and the hours are great. I appreciated all the extra free services, like use of the furniture "dolly". I am very happy with the experience I have had so far and would certainly recommend Storage King USA.

DON’T RENT

I have been a customer since before Storage king even owned it. Everything has been great until recently and now they have a new manager that isn’t worth a crap. Due to the fact I couldn’t get through on the phone for days at that end of may, a lien fee got tacked on. Old manager was supposed to handle it. And I just FINALLY got a call back from new manager AFTER calling and leaving atleast ONE to TWO voicemails a DAY for the past FIVE days. Only to have her not be able to do anything. Not worth a flip. DONT RENT here. The price when I first started renting was $79. Now it’s closer to $140!!!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As a company we reserve the right to raise rental rates with a 30 day notice as indicated in the contract. Once you are 32 days past due a lien fee is added to your account. We do our due diligence by calling and sending out notices and text messages about tenant balance. However, it is concerning to us that your calls were not answered, so we have asked our Managers to look into this further.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service, even when they are in the wrong for not completely notifying all tenets of the change in name. Refused to believe me when I told them that I had no idea of the change, even when they admitted to getting my email wrong. Created a huge ordeal over posted late fees rather than just removing them from the beginning. As long as I’ve been with the facility, I’ve never seen horrible customer service such as the present.

Worse storage unit after new company purchase...

Our Storage Facility in Columbia, TN was just purchased by Storage King within the last 3 months and we had been a tenant through two separate owners prior to Storage King purchasing the facility and had not one problem ever and the owners were friendly and helpful... since the purchase by Storage King, nothing but problems. We were not sent a letter or email that the change had happened and then received a email stating that our rent would be going up from 169.00 including the insurance to $271.00 with minimum insurance, which I found out that my homeowners covered it anyway... The email stated that this was the 30 day notice and the bill was due upon June 15th... well the email was dated the 24th of May, which is not 30 days.... then I received an invoice from Storage King for the original amount which was totally confusing, and I had paid the amount I was ask to pay $140.00 in the office when I inquired about the change in management... then was told that I have to pay the new amount .... totally unorganized and not the least bit helpful not to mention you can never reach anyone on the phone.....
Finally moved out yesterday to a nicer facility closer to my residence and the pricing is in line with my storage unit I had for 17 years.....
Terrible .... never rent there if you can help it......

No one answers the phone or calls back. Called over several days.
though the door had an open sign, the door was locked and no one around.

Disrespectful rude and detrimental to storage king

The new manager it’s so disrespectful rude and vulgar to your clientele as I was trying to get an issue resolved in the office while waiting in line watched her run to new customers away and completely disrespect three of your existing customers talks over people doesn’t listen to what the clientele is even trying to address and neverResolvesthe issues

You can not keep my credit card info straight. Every month I have to come in to straighten it out. Very poor record keeping.

Columbia TN: they bought out previous owner. Had my storage units for 8 years then they raised the rates more than double without warning. I was paying $185 for two and it went to $420, primarily for a climate controlled unit. They advertise for new customers at much cheaper. I called, no answer, asked manager to call me. No call back, just a penalty for being 5 business days late, on Monday morning after I had called on Friday morning. SO negligible courtesies, indifferent service. A locker is just a locker, but these people care NOT AT ALL.

Robovault in Ft Lauderdale was…

Robovault in Ft Lauderdale was outstanding when it was locally owned. StorageKing now owns Robovault's facility. Service is plain bad. No one answers the phone. Ever. Messages about updating a credit card for autopay were not returned. The SK website said it did not recognize my credentials after two years of ownership by SK. I could not transact routine business online, such as making a payment to avoid penalties, as a result. I am moving to a locally owned facility. Buyer Beware.

To whom it may concern,
Absolutely terrible first experience. I was leaving my trailer and was exiting the storage yard at 5:20 pm. Closing is 530 pm under your new management. The gate would not open for me to exit the yard, the walk through door was locked, so I was trapped like a caged animal. I banged on the back of the building window to get someone's attention in the office because the intercom is broken at the key pad. I waited several minutes caged not knowing how I would get out or get my truck out. I plan to break my lease as I do not want to ever feel trapped in a fenced yard. I felt completely helpless. Word to you fix the lot with equipment that works.

Terrible business skills

Terrible business skills. Watch your autopay with this place. New owners, changed monthly rate I had with Cube Smart and never informed me. They used the excuse , they did not have proof of personal insurance coverage for my unit yet they clearly knew I was only paying 18.95 a mouth / proof of insurance on file with Cube Smart. 4 months over charged. Owner is rude, non stop talking only to say she will not be refunding me the previous months I was overcharged. I now have a formal complaint against storage king for withdrawing funds from my account without an agreed contact to the new price they were charging me.
